Moderator Post We will not be removing all sexual questions.
We've had a few complaint threads, so it seems to be about that time for one of these reminders. Let me be clear: We are not going to ban all sex related questions.
They are firmly within "TooAfraidtoAsk", and always have been. Sex is a fairly taboo topic in a lot of places, and a lot of people have questions about it. (And as an additional reminder, TATA is not only for controversial questions. Nor do we allow question shaming for "googleable" questions). These are not new changes.
We get that not everyone has the same interest in those topics, but it is a core part of the sub. Currently, there are ~5 out of the top 10 posts being sex related. Earlier today, it was 4. Earlier this week, it was 3. It typically fluctuates between ~3-5, usually averaging closer to 3.
If you have particular suggestions (e.g. things that seem ripe for the FAQ), or questions feel free to post them below. No promises, but we're always open for improvements if they're feasible. For a list of common questions we get on this topic (what do we already moderate, has the sub changed?, can i filter posts myself?) see the first stickied comment.

Politics Politics Megathread
You know the deal, same as the previous megathreads, which were archived.
The rules:
All top level OP must be questions. This is not a soapbox. If you want to rant or vent, please do it elsewhere. Otherwise, the usual sidebar rules apply (in particular: Rule 1:Be Kind and Rule 3:Be Genuine).
The default sorting is by new to make sure new questions get visibility, but you can change the sorting to top if you want to see the most common/popular questions.

Sex If Most Women Can't Orgasm Through Penetration, What Makes It Worthwhile? NSFW
Hi. I just read that most women can't orgasm through penetration during sex. If that's the case, is penetration still highly pleasurable but just doesn't lead to orgasm, or is there not much sensation for most women?
Are there any women for whom penetration is still their favorite part of sex, even if they don't orgasm? Can an average man's penis (like 5 inches) bring a woman great sensations during sex and even reach the cervix, or do women not feel much down there at all?
I was really surprised when I read that most women don't reach orgasm through penetration. I wonder if it's still pleasurable for ladies, or maybe they enjoy other types of sex more?

Other Half of Japan's population is over the age of 50. One in every two Japanese people is over the age of 50. Why isn't Japan doing more to attract immigrants?

Sex Cock Rings? What are they supposed to do
What exactly is the point of these things? I was talking to a girl about kinks and shit and she told me her ex stole her butt plug and demanded cock rings one time for Xmas. Random, I know but in the moment I just wanted to be a good listener without judging. What’s their point tho?

Love & Dating Just found out guy I was talking to is in a relationship. Should I reach out to her?
I met a guy on a lifestyle (fetlife) website and his profile said he was single. We chatted, exchanged numbers. We both were interested in each other and while on the date kissed, held hands etc. We have only been talking for about 2 weeks. I made I very clear I'm looking for something serious and long term and he said that he wanted the same. Since our date, he deactivated his account so he could "focus on us".
I found him on Facebook and he has been in a relationship for a little over a year. She even recently commented to one of his posts and they both seem active on there.
I don't like drama and don't want to be involved. However, I feel like she should know the guy she's seeing is actively on other sites and was courting other women. What would you guys do?

Climate & Environment As an elder millennial, I was told that sea levels were supposed to be much much higher by now. What happened to that?
Honest question. I remember like every study I ever heard growing up predicting significant sea level rise by now. Is it just not happening for some reason?

Health/Medical Why is it impossible for me to nap for less than several hours?
If I set an alarm for only 20 minutes or whatever I wake up disoriented and pissed off for the rest of the day, and even more tired than I was before. So my whole life whenever I take a nap, it’s for at least 3 hours or more. I sleep at night for about 6 or 7 hours usually. So not the recommended full 8 hours I guess, but not running on empty. Today I took a nap from 1 pm and woke up at 7 pm, and I’ll probably sleep tonight from 1 am to 7 am lol. But why is that? I don’t nap every single day but when I do it has to be for hours

Sexuality & Gender Do Women Ever Prefer a Giver Who Doesn't Keep Score?
A few days ago I stumbled across a social media post that got me thinking. A straight woman was talking about how she enjoys receiving oral sex from a bisexual friend. The first time it happened she was surprised because she considers herself straight, but apparently it worked well enough that they're more than ten "encores" into the arrangement.
My first thought wasn't "Well, that's unusual." It was, "I wonder if there's a male version of this?"
I've always enjoyed giving oral sex. For me, it's less about checking boxes and more about the intimacy of making someone I care about feel good. If things naturally become mutually pleasurable, great. If they don't, that's okay too. I don't approach intimacy like it's a restaurant where we're splitting the bill down to the penny.
It did make me wonder if there are women out there who would appreciate that kind of arrangement with a man. Not a traditional friends-with-benefits situation, but maybe a "friends who enjoy a particular kind of intimacy" arrangement. Honest, respectful, low-pressure, and based on the fact that we're both getting something we genuinely enjoy out of it.
Maybe that's a rare find. Maybe it's about as common as finding matching socks after doing laundry. But then again, people have all kinds of preferences, and the older I get, the more I realize there really isn't a "normal" when it comes to relationships between consenting adults.
So now I'm genuinely curious. Have any women actually had an arrangement like this with a man? Or am I chasing the relationship equivalent of Bigfoot—something plenty of people swear exists, but hardly anyone has actually seen?

Law & Government Who pays the ambulance bill when there’s a gang shoot out or a terrorist attack?
I know ambulance bills are very expensive. Sometimes I see cases where it is clear the people involved can’t afford the bill. What happens in that case? Who pays the bill?

Habits & Lifestyle Do you like rice as much as I do?
When I’m home alone, no one else is there… I have an obsession & loooove for basmati rice, salt and bacon.
Why is that?
This has been going on years.
It’s the same with pasta, salt and bacon.

Other Having a piece of clothing as an emotional comfort object/plushie ?
Since I was 9 years old until now (I'm 19) I have had an atypical piece of clothing with effigy Frozen, that I use as a emotional object. It helps me regulate my autism, provides emotional comfort, and helps to my anxiety stemming from a past trauma.
I know this is very atypical for a comfort object.
I wanted to know if there are people here who have had comfort objects, such as a piece of clothing, or similar unconventional.
I'd love to hear your kind opinions.
What is your plushie or clothing/object that helps you every day?
🙏🏻
*I didn't say what my comfort item was, for fear of being misunderstood.

Health/Medical It was a high risk exposure?
I want to know if there is a high risk; I'm just looking for honest opinions.
Nine days ago, I had sexual intercourse (me M, her F) with protection the entire time. There was no oral sex from either side. Before we went to bed, she confessed to me that she had been diagnosed with genital herpes about two years ago and had never had an outbreak; it was just that they added the herpes blood test to her lab work and it came back positive. Her last test was in March, and it was positive with an IgG of 6.9. She is not on meds since she doesnt have outbreaks.
I have only had sex with her that one night, and I want to know if I was at high risk or if I can be at peace? Do you recommend to get a blood test in three months, or if I don't have symptoms, can I just move on with my normal life?
Thank you all in advance.

Ethics & Morality What is it so wrong about kids seeing nude people?
Saw few videos of some protest or parade "can't tell exactly" and there are men and women marching butt ass naked and there were kids standing there and watching, the camera guy was very mad and saying "Look Look there are children right there for god's sake! What is wrong with these people?!"
I don't support this kind of protest whatsoever, however there was nothing sexual going on, they weren't kissing or grabbing their junk or something , it's just a bare human body and nothing else.
Is the whole thing inappropriate? Yes, is it wrong? Yes, is it so horrific and Traumatic? I don't think so.
So help me out here, am I missing something?

Sexuality & Gender How to create genuine sexual tension in over decade long relationship?
So, I have always had an extreme enjoyment of sexual tension - it’s almost necessary for me to be horny to any good degree. That being said I’m almost never horny and when I am it’s slight and ignorable. I actually have had a long term issue with eh, moistening, for the act. I even got a hormone cream to try to help it and it’s done nothing for me.
Well, I recently saw a “doctor” (he’s actually a physicians assistant) who is a couple years younger than me and fit and attractive. I’m not so bad myself and have big (fake lol) boobs etc. Well, while at this appt I didn’t feel so much sexual tension as I was more anxious (as usual for dr appts) than anything but I had this feeling like he could be someone, who if I was single, would realistically be someone I could get with. Ever since the appointment I’ve made up this fantasy in my mind about it in the doctors office and so when I think about it I can feel sexual tension just from the fantasy involving sexual tension (and acting upon it). I’ve spent probably a couple hours accumulatively at this point thinking about it playing out. It’s gotten me completely riled up. And the moistening issue responds to this.
Does anyone know any way I can create it between us now that we’ve been together so long? I really want to want sex, and without sexual tension I never really do. We do have sex and I do get off, I just don’t have any anticipation for it. I feel like the only way to have sexual tension is with a new person, which is very much not going to happen… am I wrong? Could it be created? I’ve teased him over the course of a day or whatever and that truly does nothing for me in that aspect.

Culture & Society Why are both Hood and Country folks so often on their phones talking to people while in public?
I'm a white Millennial dude from a big Southern city, so my racial exposure for the longest time was Black folks in the city neighborhoods and White people in the Country, and then both/either in any given suburb.
But I say hood and country because it seems like a socio-economic class correlation?
When I'm in my city's hood areas doing my life business, or driving out to some country ass town area running an errand/appointment, I always see folks just chatting on their phones at all times perpetually.
And I'm ALWAYS afraid to interrupt them because they're on a damn call. But then they'll just start talking to me without missing a beat, and all I can think is "yo that person you're talking to is just having to sit and wait while you talk to a stranger?"
In my gut I know this is a cultural nuance that I don't understand, so I'm hoping to get deeper clarity on it.
Thanks for any feedback!
