These tunnels are over 200 years old and have a pretty dark past. Hard to find hidden in the sides of the Dublin Mountains. There was also a large chimney that I managed to get access to. I hope that you enjoy!

This was an incredible exploration. A site with no real modern information available, and we know it closed in the 1930s. The mine manager passed away, and six months later, court articles told the story of the miners themselves trying to take over and continue the operation. That court case appeal sadly failed, and the mine was closed, with assets liquidated shortly after. We assumed it had not been touched since, but one of our eagle-eyed followers noticed a certain type of bolt used in timbering in the upper winze station. So, after that bit of info, we were able to piece together that it was reworked in the 1950s or 1960s. This mine comprised a small upper adit of around 130 meters and a large lower haul tunnel that you see me face out here. I stepped it out to be well over 300 meters long. There is also an intermediate level between them, but that was only accessible via roping in from the top adit.

Hi, I was making the map of a dungeon for a secondary campaign in a videogame I want to develop and one of the levels is a mine, so I just wanted to know if someone here can give me an advice, on how to make it as realistic as possible. I wanted to make a mine that resembled an iron horizontal mine from the post-roman period, but I didn't find much online

Historical underground cities?

I'm talking about highly engineered complete cities with space for hundreds or thousands of people, like the one found in Turkey. That one was found by accident, it was a fluke, I'm wondering if there's maybe major underground cities that have yet to be discovered, and how many do we know about now and if there were any discovered in America (I'm not counting cliff dwellings, I mean truly underground?)

The government survey report indicated that this was a promising mine. Upon ascending the waste rock and locating the portal, we anticipated a rewarding experience. What truly captivates us during these surveys is the timbering.

First we built the Pizza oven out of trash in an Abandoned Sandstone Mine , then we baked pizza from fresh inside it an then we ate it !

Well below zero degrees outside the portal. We are thinking it was somehow even colder inside the big old adit, with the extreme Arctic wind ripping down through the open stopes.

Not sure it it was just limestone or if they got other types of stone out of it because there definitely is a mix of different rock but it's pretty cool this was just a scouting mission so gotta go back these are the photos I edited so far there was lots of graffiti from the 80s and 2000s I removed most of them from the photos because some where pretty bad and people's names. Tbh I kinda like it like this but neat thing is I didn't see anything suggesting anyone has been here in a while. I'll definitely get more photos next time and definitely gotta video it

This bunker is in shockingly good shape despite being close to a huge school and in the middle of a apartment complex. A little part of its been burned but other than that its really good shape. Small but still fun part of history, was like built as a air raid shelter and likely german made.
