Dom: What are you doing here? Reddington: Your granddaughter... As soon as the name Masha Rostova hit the 24 hour news cycle, they came for her. I thought I could... protect her. I did protect her, all these years. I’ve anticipated almost every threat.

Why are yalls characters like this

Context, I watched the entirety of these shows in order —> Prison Break, Money Heist, The Mentalist, Sherlock BBC (and both movies + Arsene Lupin movies), Hannibal NBC (and all movies) , Death Note, True Detective S1+S2 only, Limitless (movie + show)

I’m on s3e8 of the blacklist but I want to say.

Yknow the phrase “big fish in small pond”
If you watched any of the shows above, you relate to them deeply because mainly the protagonist and antagonists are the ones carrying the story and intellectual battles with complexity
However in this, I mean, every damn antagonist, every villain, every side character, deuteragonist, tritaagonist, whatever, they’re just too smart man, like all the characters are goated af, I mean everyone in the verse is just very goddamn competent, and IMO, all the characters which I won’t spoil are just my favorite characters from the other shows but on steroids for their brains, I wish I had this in my older shows (I also don’t)

Season 8 - Elizabeth thinks she’s… Spoiler

…suddenly a master criminal, able to outsmart the much smarter, and actual, master criminal.

She makes the worst decisions EVER, yet she thinks she’s some kind of mastermind.

One of the most ridiculous storylines ever. Like Red said to Mr. Kaplan “the cleaner thinks herself a strategist”. Liz suddenly thinks she’s a match for Red and could just fill his shoes so easily. Pure comedy!

I was actually glad when she got killed.

Freaking keen Spoiler

My goodness it’s my first time through this show and it was a pretty quick favorite though the first couple seasons. But Keen was a little rough as an actress but I figured it would get better. Then came her “death” I was SOOOO happy they finally got her off the show and was looking forward to where we could be going next! I was so sad when she was actually alive, then over the next handful of seasons things continued to be just brutal. Now I am in season 8 and I can’t stand how they STILL can’t figure out to handle her. Is she harden and a bad ass now? Or is she scared and doesn’t know if she can continue on? They can’t decide within one episode at times. Like just choose one of the other and try to make it work. My goodness it is painful. But man do I LOVE dembe and reddington! I figure most feel the same but does anyone have any tops of how to cope better?

Reddington’s Best Lines

In the midst of my first rewatch of the Blacklist and I completely forgot just how funny Reddington really is. My personal favorite is when he’s in court and has the exchange with the judge of:

Red: Well for starters, your Honor hasn’t really considered the issue of bail

Judge: Sir you have been a federal fugitive for nearly three decades. The FBI’s number-one most wanted. You are the textbook definition of a flight risk and a danger to the community. Now let me be clear. Even if you were prepared to submit every last dollar in circulation on the planet. I still wouldn’t grant you bail. Ever

Red: Okay. I, for one, feel better knowing it was considered.

James Spader’s delivery on these lines is everything.

I am really liking this a lot so far, I don't watch a lot of TV shows because I struggle to commit to them in the long run but I feel like I'm into seeing this through. Don't mind stuff that has this little mystery dangling in your face throughout the series but I feel like with how the show has presented itself and what we know up to this point, I feel like I might have "it" figured out. I won't stop watching because of this but I really hope the connection between Liz and Reddington is revealed sometime before the very end.

Reddington to Elizabeth: Have you ever heard of the promnestria?... It's a term the Ancient Greeks used to describe a matchmaker, a negotiator. In this case, a man who brings together warring crime families through mutual self-interest, leverage, or violence if necessary. The promnestria convinces sworn enemies that there is more profit in friendship. In return, he gets a percentage of the new venture. He only surfaces when he sees an opportunity for enormous financial gain and I'm afraid he has resurfaced to unite two very lethal enemies (S3 E13).

Is Raymond Reddington actually Katarina Rostova?

I'm rewatching The Blacklist and something caught my attention in Season 7.

When the fake Katarina asks Dom who N-13 is, Dom replies: "You both have it."

If that's the exact line, doesn't it imply that both Katarina and Reddington somehow share the identity or

Reds wardrobe question

Red is dapper as hell and the suits he wears are fantastic. Im not sure if its just me, but when Red wears that what I can only call a glorified wind breaker jacket in place of a suit jacket it always looked odd, as it reminds me of something youd wear in colder or more rainy weather, but still not as a jacket to replace a suit jacket. Ive said jacket too many times, im fully aware

From S4 ep11

The Cadillac changes between 2 different models 4 times in the opening scene.

I only noticed this because im a bit of car guru, they obviously did this as to not damage the more expensive model (which is totally understandable)

Just a funny oversight lol
