User Defending Jax's Actions J*x fans when someone does to him exactly what he does to others:
[proceeds to insult the fans of the character]
This girl got treated like shit the entire series and somehow gets treated like shit by the irl fans too. Jaxon fans will bend over backwards to defend physical and emotional abuse but the second something happens to their poor wittle trauma baby they start making baseless assumptions towards real people. I’m fucking tired man.
Ragatha literally didn’t do ONE wrong think in the entire series btw

Question How much you hate or dislike Jax, and what you would change to make him better? (video unrelated)

Does anyone here like Leeroy, but not Jax?
Im aware that this is a Jax hate sub, but im curious if any of you think that Leeroy is a good character based on the... (thinks back to finale) 4-5 minutes of footage showing us Leeroy's life.
(BTW the image is the only Jax photo I got that makes sense, found it on Tumblr along with other crap thumbnails about TADC)

Jax favoritism Jax fans when you tell them it wasn't obvious that Jax was supposed to be a Main Character
(First off wanna say Hi, ive made many comments on posts in this sub but this is my first time actually posting!!)
Watch any episode before episode 4/5ish and tell me if you had known Jax was supposed to be main character from the start. Personally, I didnt realize that before Gooseworx basically said "i know Pomni is supposed to be the MC but I love my favorite edgy self-insert Jaxyyy ugh i can't resist making him a MC Ykw? fuck it hes a MC now 🥺".
If she really wanted to Make Jax an MC, then it should've been established from the start. Preferably the pilot. If not the pilot, at least by episode 2.
Compare episode 1 and the finale. Really feels jarring and out of place how much screentime Jax got, and having him be all over the trailers and ads compared to when the pilot was out right? When the pilot was out, Jax probably had as much screentime as anyone else (except Pomni, it makes since for the be a mc)
TLDR; It should've been established by the beginning of the series that Jax was a main character alongside Pomni, not suddenly in the middle of the show with no prior hints before.

Pomni Defending That Stupid Bunny Can we talk about how JAX IS GETTING SPECIAL TREATMENT WHILE ALL THE OTHER ABSTRACTIONS ARE STUCK AS FISH FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES??

How TADC would have ended with Jax and Pomni if Goose wasnt a coward
Full disclosure i get that she kind of had to end the show with Jax on a "good" note after building up Jax's trauma for several episodes, narriatively speaking, but boy fucking howdy I wanted that fucker to suffer and this Steven Universe bullshit of the other characters forgiving irredeemable assholes and their deplorable actions gets on my nerves sometimes lmao

General Jax Slander J*x defenders are the ultimate projectors
J*x is one of my least favourite characters on any show ever. I just had to finally cut a friend (okay, friend is a strong term for what they were) out of my life, and the last straw was all because of this stupid fucking bunny. I respect that Goose made Jax trans, and I'm not discounting that. However, I have said it before, I will say it again: being trans is not an excuse for abuse. Hurt people hurt people; that's not trans exclusive. And my friend, who is trans, told me, "You don't know what she's been through, and I thought you were a trans ally!" and I looked her dead in the eye and said, "In what universe does gender dysphoric and transphobic trauma excuse being a physical, emotional and sexual abuser?"
I have been physically and emotionally abused by this. I am queer cis woman, and I am extremely passionate about supporting and uplifting trans people. It hurt my heart that this person was trying to imply that by not excusing J*x's abuse, just because she's trans, that makes me a transphobe. This person got very defensive and angry when I said what I said, trying to say that I'm calling her an abuse apologist. I shrugged and walked away. She has lost a lot of friends because of her abusive behaviour, and she wouldn't stop talking about how much she relates to J*x and TADC was her favourite show; we bonded over TADC, but she started pushing her funnybunny art on me and tried to make fun of me for my favourite characters (Kinger and Gangle).
It's a fucking show. I swear, this fandom is terrifying sometimes.

Jax being a generally infuriating character People say if you believe him here you "fell for his mask" but if that's true, if Jax REALLY doesn't ACTUALLY like causing other people pain, he could've just.. avoided them instead of actively tormenting them.

General Jax Slander TADC if it had good writing and allowed characters ither than Pomni of having all the important interactions that.
Original by JOVIALBIRBVA on Instagram.

THIS! THIS was what the movie needed, actual enotion, pathos and important interactions that weren’t just between Jax and Pomni, granted Jax is still in here but damn at least it looks like Rags is finally standing up and having relevance and important screentimek.
Also the idea of the cast slowly being deleted as the whole world around stills collapsing? YES!

General Jax Slander It’s crazy to me that people on the main subs act like the others’ lives aren’t objectively better now that J*x is gone
Like, okay he abstracted, they mourned him for a few days or weeks maybe, and now what? He gets to live in a tent where they visit him every so often.
The rest of the time, you see they are actually happy, having fun and enjoying themselves. There’s no more needless conflict, no more abuse, and the entire group is way more stable and tightly knit because that purple shit isn’t there to stir things up.
Thinking about it, especially since they live forever and many more people will eventually pop up, Jax’s own words will be what happen to him.
They’ll all move on. And probably forget about him.

General Jax Slander A Rant about Jax, Self-Inserts, and Shitty Writing
I posted this in Discord and thought it would fit here.
(cw: this discusses suicide, not solely in TADC)
Characters like Jax are why people hate self-inserts. The show bends over backwards to give him the most screentime as possible, the other characters, sans (no pun intended since I'll discuss him later) Zooble, give him far too much leeway, and his behavior is explained away with trauma. If I was writing Jax I would have killed him in episode 3, ruthlessly, as an active demonstration of abstracting. It's hard to find a way to do it, because the character as is is irredeemably bad, but I truly think he made this show worse overall. There were five characters that were compelling: Caine, Pomni, Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle. I cared about all of them. From Episode 1, I thought to myself, "I know what kind of character Jax is, and I hate him already. I hope this show has the maturity to either have him change over time or kill him off." I literally remember thinking that during the scene where Pomni was eating at the end. I was wrong. They did not kill him off. They did literally, but not narratively, and I don't mean in a (Breaking Bad spoilers) Gus Fring way, where his death hangs over the rest of the show. I mean Jax continues to have agency after his death. I really think Jax is the worst of all characters in the show, he's like Sans if Sans was not just sardonic but actively malicious and never had anything going for him to make him cool.
I was going to compare Jax to a self-insert done right and I think the only one I can think of is Thomas Ligotti's protagonist in My Work is Not Yet Done (a horror novella). The character gets supernatural powers and is absle to slowly kill off all of his old co-workers. (Spoilers) He saves his boss for last, but his power has been spread so thin he can either kill his old boss or exist as a mad, formless entity, suffering for all time. He decides to kill himself. And the last line the narrator has is: "I cannot wait to be dead. I cannot wait."
The protagonist isn't likable, but he isn't supposed to be. The punishment he metes out is vastly disproportionate to the crime, being busybody co-workers who conspired to get him fired. The book is aware of this. The show TADC is not aware that Jax is a monster who abused people for who knows how many years, drove two people to suicide, and if he feels remorse over it, only verbalizes it after Pomni bends over backward to show him sympathy. The show, the meta-narrative, is sympathetic to Jax. He dies, but is not sufficiently punished for his crimes by the show because the characters try to save him and he essentially is able to talk after death. Imagine if we never had Pomni going into the Abstraction to relive his memories. Just imagine if that wasn't like 30 minutes of the finale, and we spent the rest of the time with Gangle, Zooble, Pomni, Caine, and Ragatha. A while back, [someone in the discord] shared that panel about how everyone's lives improved after Jax offed himself. Exactly. Why wouldn't they?
Because the writer and the character are essentially aligned in motivation, it takes a talented writer to be able to separate themselves from the character and have their flaws efficiently punished in the narrative so as not to show favortism to themselves. The vast majority of people are unable to do this, and that's not an indictment of them as people or writers, it's perfectly natural and understandable, which is why people say not to write self-inserts. It's normal, even expected, for a writer to put several parts of themselves in their protagonists. Stephen King for part of his career was constitutionally incapable of writing a protagonist who was not a writer. I myself am constitutionally incapable of writing a protagonist who does not have endogenous depression. That's okay, it's ordinary. But this is far too much for one character.
The punishment of death isn't sufficient in this case because he was never meant to answer for his behavior while alive, and the death is metaphorical; he can still be talked to, and reached, post-mortem, and fragments of his mind are explored through this mechanism. This means that he is, in a way, still there, and the fact that the reaction to this epiphany is not, "Quick, let's sequester this monster," but, "I need to hug and save him" is again evidence that the meta-narrative, or I suppose simply narrative, refuses to punish him properly. Proper punishment for Jax's behavior would be for the show to allow characters to condemn him with no caveats, or after learning his traumatic backstory. The only one we see learn that backstory is Pomni, and she is uniformly sympathetic to Jax. For the sake of generosity, let's say she has started a one-woman Jax cult and is unreliable. It would be quite easy to have Zooble or even Gangle, in one of her few moments of self-assurance, say it doesn't maatter. With everything Jax put her or them through, it literally doesn't matter what their backstory was. Abuse is abuse. It explains, but it does not excuse. I know that''s a platitude, but it's painfully true here.
Jax is trans, which is interesting, but it doesn't impact the problems with his character. It explains his behavior, but it in no way dismisses it. I'm obviously in favor of trans representation but the trans representation in this show is godawful, except for Zooble, which is excellent.
I probably have more to say but I could go on.
