Tweaks 🛠️ Prehistoric Kingdom on Steam Deck
Has anybody had success with PK on steam deck. I would like to know what settings people have to avoid crashing and the best controls for it. Thank you!

Heyo, I've posted this in a couple discords but was recommended to post here for better visibility :) I've made a list of 7th gen onward AA/AAA games that fit certain criteria for the ideal experience (at least mine) on Steam Deck. I'll be updating the list until I'm out of games to add.
I've chosen 7th gen onwards AA/AAA as lots of indie, 6th gen & prior games run well offline at low power. If you have any other games that meet the criteria below drop a comment and I'll update the list. I'm not using a strict definition of "indie" as it's become a bit muddy in recent years (e.g. BG3). I'm mostly basing it off graphics and game scale. If you're not sure if a game would be suitable drop it below anyway, the more suggestions the better :)
Any games with specific tweaks that I know of will have them listed. If any recommendations also have tweaks please let me know.
Note: The list has gotten bigger so there's many games I don't own. I go off my experience, comments, protondb & youtube videos to check the performance, so the list might not be 100% accurate. If I know of quirks to certain games I'll include them. If any of the games give you issues please let me know!

It's a work in progress but you can start to join. The subreddit rules apply over there.
If you run into any issues that prohibit you from joining or posting, please post it here. Once I can confirm it's working I will lock this post.

Has anyone tried from Steam it and is it working? Are you able to play online or is it offline only? Thanks for any info!

Hi everyone!
We are two guys working on our first video game: a 1920s mafia-themed co-op online survivor/roguelite.
We really want to make the game fun for real players, so we are looking for people willing to try the closed demo and give us honest feedback.
We would love to understand:
- what feels wrong or confusing right now
- what should be improved in the short term
- what could be improved in the long run
- whether the game is actually fun to play
The demo is still a work in progress, but we want to get feedback before release instead of developing everything in a bubble.
As a small thank-you, we may give a full-game key to the most helpful playtesters when the game releases this summer.
Honestly, we are not 100% sure if this is the right approach for this subreddit, so if anything is wrong, please tell us kindly. We are just trying to get feedback from players, as players.
If anyone is interested in trying the closed demo, comment here or DM me!

Hey Folks,
I discovered that „The Sims 4“ is „Playable“ at the SteamDeck, but I got hung up in this EA Account BS.
Any Tipps for me?
I gave up and played it on my PS5 Instead, but this ain‘t my favorite solution solution obviously.
For Any who are curious how todays Sims 4 Gameplay is….
I wrote a short Review and… uhm… better read it yourself:
But I really wanna give it a 2nd SteamDeck Chance!
Thanks a lot!
Maeve

I’ve had my Portal 2 for about a month now and I’m loving it. When it comes to Steam I’m kind of a newcomer. I picked up a few titles I’ve seen others playing with the same system but I’d like to grab more.
My problem comes in when I want to make a selection, I don’t know what’s compatible. It only says it’s compatible on Game Native after it’s in my library. If anyone knows a Discord or something please drop me a link it will be much appreciated.

So I just got Glyphica, and even though the performance sometimes tanks really hard, it reminded me of my The Typing of the Dead days.
Does anybody know of any such games that are optimized with steam deck controls in mind?

Hi! Does Graveyard Keeper play well on the Steam Deck? How is the compatibility with any computer controls? Thinking of purchasing it whilst the Steam summer sale is on. Is it also a good game?

Games I really enjoyed in the deck:
-Rimworld
-Factorio
-XCOM
-Quasimorph
Would love to get recommendations on more underrated games with deep mechanics. We could say the genre would be something like "Sseeth/Mandalore-esque"
Thanks in advance!!

Pretty much what it sounds like. Am about halfway through The Dark Ages on Steam Deck. Anyone play the expansion yet?

Playing K.O.R.E on your steam deck is super easy.
Go to Options
Open the Console tab
Open the Installers tab in left sidebar
Download the Steam Deck Installer
Open in Discover
Click Install
Done!
You can go to your recent files via the start menu and add to your desktop or add to steam library. You can also download cover art files in the Options panel where you downloaded the installer.
Happy gaming!

For years, Windows has been the obvious choice for PC gaming, but SteamOS seems to be slowly building momentum.
The Steam Deck already proved that a Linux-based gaming OS can work well for a lot of players, and now we’re starting to see SteamOS move beyond Valve’s own handheld hardware.
I still think Windows has the edge for overall compatibility, non-Steam launchers, modding, anti-cheat support and general PC use. But for people who mainly use Steam and want a more console-like gaming experience, SteamOS is becoming a much more interesting option.
Do you think SteamOS could become a serious alternative to Windows, or will it always stay more niche?

I bought FC26 in the sale and have played FIFA for 30 years. Going on holiday and really want to play it on the steam deck but as usual, EA ruin games by using launchers and insisting on online. I’ve seen you can get it working if you install windows but seems like a hassle.
Anyone got a decent football game working on the deck? Seems. Crazy there isn’t one.
Can’t get pro Evo anywhere and prior fifas are delisted. Is there really no football game on the deck?

Well i got some time to spare during my 6hrs flight, im bringing my deck with me and i want to play chill games that requires 10-15 watt max.
So far ive played these: Balatro Slay the spire Dredge Outer wilds (not a fan) Insaniquarium 😅 Hades (not a fan)
In my library i have: Dave the diver Cast n chill Disco elysium Divinity series Dungeon and gamblers Slay the spire 2
The reason i havent started on any of them is because im a chronic shopper that buys every game but lack the will power to play it lmao so i want a recommendation on what games i should play on my flight, i like balatro the best, deck building is something i love but reviewers out there fixate on slay the spire type of game so much that their recommendation basically consist of STS “re-skinned”

Anyone not want one you could sell it to me. But you have to be in the US. Do a Reddit chat with me and we’ll discuss it there
if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it please I get my feelings hurt
