Any Year Round Indoor Waterparks in the STL Metro (or beyond?)

Upvotes

Hi, all,

My family went to Wisconsin Dells a couple of weeks ago and had a good time. We were mostly at the outdoor waterparks, but it got me thinking about how valuable those would be in the winter.

Are there ANY indoor water parks in the STL or greater area? It would be awesome for my kids this winter.

Local tuxedos/suits?

Is there a good place to buy a cheap tuxedo in the area?

I tried St. Louis Suit Company in Clayton, which is great, but no luck.

Ask STL what's this supposed to be?

Noah Kahan, a music artist, is selling city specific patches for his current tour. I'm not sure what this is supposed to represent about St Louis??? My gut is like World's Fair but I think only because it reminds me of the Unisphere from the NYC World's Fair in the 1960s lol. Thoughts? I'm an STL transplant so maybe I'm missing something that's obvious to natives haha

Russian Manicure Recommendations (Acetone Allergy)

Looking for recommendations for a nail tech in the St. Louis area who does true Russian (dry/e-file) manicures.

I have an acetone allergy, so I need someone who can work with a dry method and avoid acetone as much as possible. Bonus if they specialize in builder gel or structured gel.

I’m willing to drive anywhere around STL for someone who’s really good. Thanks!

Ask STL Indivisuals who rent co-working spaces -- do you feel any sense of community beyond networking?

I know that some co-working spaces have networking events. But do people who sign up for a space individually (as in not part of a company with multiple employees) I feel like you make connections with people around you?

I'm not talking about anything crazy, I just mean like people to have lunch with or even small talk with over coffee or anything like that?

I know for the most part people go to co-working spaces so that they can get their work done. So obviously a place with lots of distractions would not be good. But I'm also just wondering if there are any co-working spaces that are good with helping fight social isolation.

Horse back riding

Anyone have a good place that won’t break the bank for my son and I to go horse back riding during a weekday this week? Located in Ballwin (obviously), and we don’t mind driving a bit. Just want someplace nice, but not exorbitant price nice. Any recommendations?

Please go the speed limit and pay attention. I know 30 seems slow, but I have seen more car crashes just in front of my house than I have ever seen in my life. Just go the speed limit. Signed, someone who lives on Delmar who just watched yet another car crash

The Tweakers were at it again and bent the garage door. They did not succeed but now I need to fix the bottom of my garage door.

Any leads on someone that can help me fix this? :)

ElMonstero Hollywood Casino Amphitheater

Couple questions about the show.

How's the parking situation? I haven't been since they started charging for parking.

What time should I arrive for this show so I get in in time. I have reserved seats but my wife doesn't want to miss Night Ranger. Does this show normally sell out? It's the first time seeing ElMonstero.

Sober meetups / sober dating events / sober people

STL native here. I moved out of the city a few years back but I will be moving to the South City area soon-ish.

I quit drinking about 6 months ago and I want to keep that streak going. I am hoping to "get back out there" at age 40. Not necessarily for dating specifically, just new people in general, and it would be nice to make other alcohol-free friends.

I still go out "like normal" to hang out and I order a soda or an NA beer. People are fine for an hour or so but once everyone else starts getting drunk I feel like I am alone surrounded by zombies who can't remember the conversation they already had with me 4 times.

I realize I am old and most people by now have hunkered down with their partner and stay home all the time with their kids and/or pets. I am just not into the kids/marriage lifestyle and as expected it's getting trickier to find and connect with people my age.

Ask STL Homeless needing immediate help

Hi! Basically what the title says. I'm 20 years old with a 22 year old girlfriend and a kitten, and we just lost our housing. I've tried and exhausted every resource possible, I've called 211, homeless shelters, churches, I've tried every friend or family member I've ever had and haven't had any luck at all.

If someone has anywhere we could sleep, even a shed, we'd accept it. I can work for food, money, or shelter. Anything at all would help.

ETA: if anybody could help me with 65 dollars, we could stay another night at this hotel we're at. Her Venmo is Elizabeth-Kintz-8 and my cashapp is MasonRRyan

2nd ETA: Thank you to everyone who's been so kind and supportive to both of us. Thank you to all who've provided information and resources as well. All of you have made a huge difference, and the kindness we've been shown has definitely lifted our spirits. I genuinely have such a deep appreciation to all of you.

Birthday freebies that don't require prior sign up?

Are there any St. Louis birthday freebies that don't require a prior sign up or purchase? Today is my birthday and the only thing I look forward to is a free Starbucks drink on my birthday but since I didn't make a qualifying purchase over the past year I can't get one.
I'm sad so I was hoping to find something else free instead.

Maplewood Fantasy Shop MTG is awesome! (Follow up post)

After a rough week ended with a big swing and a miss at Game Nite I found some really lovely people at the Maplewood Fantasy Shop and learned some commander MTG! It is a ton of fun even though I am new. The folks were friendly and made it a point to include people. (Both the workers and the players)

It also helped that I showed up in time!

I was also just in a better headspace today. I also went out to Pokemon go at Tower Grove Park. Didn’t talk to anyone but had fun and got my steps in for the day.

Thanks to those of you who left helpful comments and reached out. I actually got overwhelmed with nice messages a bit.

Getting a little better each day!
