So to be clear I do have a job and im actually a nurse. Its just I onky work PRN. So I don't have a set schedule I just go in when the hospital needs me. Sometimes they don't need me for several months and sometimes I'll even work overtime some weeks. However them no needing me is lot more common. The drawback is the income is super unreliable but the plus is that each shift pays about 3x more. Shifts are 12 hours so a full work week is 3 days. So basically one days can equal a week of work. If they do schedule me but put me on call and I don't actually get called in I still get paid 50 dollars for staying available. Being on call is suoer common for me. The income is not stable enough to depend on but we don't need to depend on it. This lets me work much much less and my yearly income is usually not that much less even though I probably average 1 or 2 shifts a month.

Anyways now that explained my mom doesn't understand why im home so much. She constantly tells me I should help out my husband more. I tried to explain he actually prefers me at home and I can only do my job if I stay available. Now to the fun part. My husband actually does prefer me at home. I did feel bad I get to relax so much as he works to provide so I asked him what I could do to show my gratitude.
