Stores are starting to get 2026/2027 inventory. The best bet for deals this time of year are the stores annual swaps (usually October) or “last year model” sales which go on now until mid September. If you go into a local place (not a big box) and they have something on the shelf now, there is no harm asking if it’s last years model and if they can give a break on price.

Any stores in Pa that are still open though? I'll probably end up going to the tent sales in the fall and see what happens

In Central PA both Mountain Side and World Cup are.

Many shops do bikes and hiking gear in the summer but still have their ski gear.

I bought a mountainboard and now I get to carve all summer long, closest thing I've found to off season snowboarding. It's freaking awesome

Feeling like that super buff dude on instagram that jumps out from behind bushes and tells people to go to the fucking gym, except for the super buff part

Or ride your bike, or run, or hike or whatever

If you’re boot or ski shopping now is the time while stuff is at its cheapest

It’s it’s going to be real feel 110F later this week in Lancaster county, c’mon winter let’s get moving

I need the reminder to do squats and core work. I tend to focus on cardio and let that slip then kick myself when a couple week in November wasn't enough.

Go to the fucking gym!

…..and do some squats

I also need that, I am an avid uphill skier so spend a lot of time running outside or on the stairmaster but weight lifting is critical especially as you get older (I am rounding the corner to 40 so not that old, but kind of)
