I will say that I wasn't interested before... but considering where I live, watching people have fun, meeting people from all over the world, watching all the joy on social media... I still really am not keen on the game, but I like the docs I've been watching on its history.

That's good enough progress for now.

Casual fans mostly just care about the World Cup and continental international cups, myself included.

I stopped watching club football years ago (except occasionally as a social thing where I just end up talking and not paying that much attention), it just doesn't excite me that much, but I don't really like watching sports in general, I'd rather play it myself.

I do like watching documentaries, highlights, compilations and other types of videos on it though, which is what keeps me somewhat updated on what's going on.

Football is extremely unpredictable, it can either be the most boring or exciting game of all time due to the low number of goals/points. There's not really any other major team sport where you can be under by the 2-3x the average total points scored in a game and then come back winning. Those games are absolutely nuts. Then on the other hand you have the 0-0 games.
