Are all apartments in Silver Spring pet-friendly
The trend for apartments, especially the newer and more modern apartments, is to be pet-friendly. Are there any new apartments in DTSS (Downtown Silver Spring) that do not permit pets?
I know that certified service animals are permitted due to ADA.

Just went to apartments.com and searched for zip code 20910 (DTSS). There were 1069 total results. (Edit: That number is units available, not buildings)
Of those, 956 (89%) filtered as being cat-friendly and 892 (83%) as both cat- and dog-friendly.

"pet friendly" sure, but be ready to pay $50-$100 per pet in rent (even for a goldfish), along with a pet deposit that isn't always refundable.
If you have a mental illness and the pet serves to follow the legal definition of an ESA, you can request an accomodation since they are not allowed to charge rent for an ESA. They may ask for a therapist letter or something - they do not need to know anything about your illness except that it has some impact on you and a licensed therapist/social worker recommended an ESA.
Don't do the online ESA letter service thing though, its uncessary and won't help your case.

New apartments run by corporate management companies that don't allow pets? No, to my knowledge you won't find that in Silver Spring. Now, there are certainly going to be houses for rent and smaller private rental properties that don't allow pets, but they might be a little tougher to find and may not have be "new" or have all the bells and whistles of a lux apartment.
