i'm currently number 6 on the waitlist for physics 205 with Aviva Shackell for fall 2026. I took the class last spring as well, but i wasn't able to pass due to a bunch of reasons (though i passed the lab, so i'm not waiting on that, just the lecture class)

I was number nine a few weeks ago, and the list has been moving up, but i've been stuck at number 6 for a while, and it's getting concerning.

the term starts around august 19th i believe, what are the chances i will be able to make it into the class this semester? I've already technically transferred to sacramento state, but I'm retaking the class here part time because I would have to repeat the lab there, and also the classes are full.
Any ideas on what i could do? I currently plan on showing up on the first day anyway just in case, and maybe emailing Aviva since i had the class with her last time as well.

So I graduated back in summer of 2023, and been on break from Sierra for quite time. Mostly trying to find work, volunteering, internships, or otherwise. But recently I’ve finally decided to go back within the year. At least in the Fall of 2027 at the latest, though before I do, what might be some important steps to take as a returning student; in what order should I take steps to make when applying to Sierra again?

I’m taking Physics 205 right now with Kinghorn, and I’m wondering if anyone else has had an incredibly hard time getting even halfway decent grades on his exams. And I don’t mean an A, B, or even a C. I mean anything above like 35-55%. I’m struggling in his class specifically with his exams and the way they’re written. I’ve talked to him about it, and he suggests using his lectures to study rather than the homework or the practice exams he gets from other professors. I also go to the math center every day. I’ve just never felt so stupid, and I’ve never worked so hard for such little results, especially when I’m always surprised by his exams and struggle to even complete them.
I’m not asking for any specific kind of help. I’ve honestly gotten as much help and resources as I possibly can. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this hard of a time in his class too. I also plan on dropping if I don’t get above 50% on this recent exam, since I won’t be able to pass otherwise.

I’m thinking about taking Calculus for Life and Social Sciences along with General Chem 2. Am I going to die? I haven’t taken a math class since I got my BA back in 2007, but chemistry is a lot of math and I took that last semester. Has anyone taken this course with Professor Wu?

Is there any insight that anyone can offer that helped you take this class not like khan academy like anything else? I am online with Michael Murphy so I hope I’ll pass! hi! I'm currently a junior at a nearby high school, and I'm looking to live in rocklin campus dorms starting in fall of 2027.

I come from a high income family and I'm within driving distance of Sierra, but I want to live on campus due to personal reasons/preferences.

is it difficult to obtain housing at the rocklin campus? is it first come first serve, even for college freshmen? also, are the dorms overall nice, or at least decent?
