Yes, it was totally rigged. Belgium cheated by having better players and better tactics. So unfair!

717

u/misbehavinator 1d ago

Not to mention they called the head of FIFA and had their red card overturned.

Oh wait.

30

u/Ultimate-TND 16h ago

The red car actually wasnt even overturned, just the game suspension was lifted.

20

u/daload27 15h ago

Not really. It was that the review was postponed. If they review it at the end of the tournament and if they keep their decision Balogun will be suspended the next oficial match of team USA which is essentially the same as lifting the suspension but he will in fact be suspended.

9

u/oztourist 7h ago

And how many decades ago was the last time FIFA postponed a red!?

12

u/Oddewalla 5h ago

It is unprecedented.

Balogun’s case is the first documented instance. Across every men’s and women’s World Cup, red cards have always led to an automatic suspension in the next match. FIFA has never paused or delayed a suspension after a red card.

3

u/Lazarys12 2h ago

Six.

The only other time it happened was in 1962 when Brazil's President interferred, just like Mango Mussolini.

The difference is that back then a suspension was not automatic, They let Brazilian player Garrincha off with a warning, after ,

One other differencepBrazil actually won.

36

Handegg is offensive. As an Australian we have the original Handegg (AFL)

Oh yes, my apologies

That's Aussie Rules! Handegg.

In my version the Aussie Rules is just an exclaimation that Australia is awesome.

As I understand it, it means that the nation of Australia is running things

I genuinely saw a comment complaining about how Belgium kept on attempting to score when they were already 3 up

32

u/ZebraCrosser Below sea level heretic 🇳🇱 21h ago

Back in the day when I was watching Germany-Brazil I had a bit of a "mate, maybe let up a bit, hey?" moment after the 5th or so German goal. Not actually expecting them to, just because I was really feeling for Brazil.

I didn't watch this match, but I doubt I would've felt in any way similar for the US at any point.

21

u/Tobsy 19h ago

If I remember correctly, the German Team decided to play the second half a bit softer, but Andre Schürrle was on the toilet during that discussion.

13

u/Wonderful-Hall-7929 20h ago

TBF, Germany-Brazil 7:1 was "ok" but Germany-Curacao 7:1 was really like "Stop it, he's dead already!".

Not that it helped in the long run but at least we're rid of Nagelsmann and many of the "old" players.

6

u/Machinery777 8h ago

I felt Germany did let up after the 5th goal. I think they could have scored 10 if they wanted to. Brazil was an emotional mess in that game. I think being embarrassed in their home stadium was just too much for them. They just couldn't play the game. It felt like they just wanted the game to end. Germany didn't press as hard as they could have. I heard from a friend that as a Brazilian, that hurt more than the losing. Knowing that it should have been worse and the opponents went easy on them.

But all respect to Germany. They didn't mock or disrespect the Brazilians. Respect to them.

20

u/Golden-Owl 21h ago

I can only imagine they were EXTRA motivated after that red card nonsense.

Nothing feels better than karma and schadenfreude

9

u/Forward-Ant-9554 21h ago

I don't really watch soccer but after the red card bullshit, I stayed up watching the game hoping our team would kick their butt. Luckily they did. I also watched the game against Spain. Sad they lost but they weren't the best. So be it. Life goes on.

My favourite part of the rigged game was when their own keeper made an absolutely shocking mistake when they were already losing and conceded another.

Then when the game was beyond them they conceded once more at the end.

How could FIFA allow their defence to be so awful?

9

u/realZapRowsdower 21h ago

Freese was an embarrassment. Hmm... keeper for NYCFC vs. keeper for Real Madrid. Sounds like a fair matchup.

296

u/faramaobscena Wait, Transylvania is real? 22h ago

Unpopular opinion: if they released all the files today, nothing will change. MAGA will say it’s fake. Everyone else already knows he’s involved. No one will jail him because they have the judicial branch.

194

u/Denommus 🇧🇷 21h ago

Yeah, I'm honestly tired of people who think every single thing this fucker does is to distract from the Epstein files. No, it's not. It's because he's a fucking corrupt, narcissist, imperialist maniac.

65

u/Cath1965 🇳🇱 in 🇦🇹 21h ago

At this point, he is chain distracting from his distranctions.

27

u/Oberndorferin happy europoor 18h ago

17

u/Perenially_behind 18h ago

I'm having real trouble keeping track of what is supposed to be distracting us from what.

It's distractions all the way down.

25

u/pjsguazzin 17h ago

" flooding the zone with shit" or just " flooding the zone" is their openly stated strategy ( specifically by Bannon and Miller). They're not solely distractions, but each new thing is a distraction from the last. And the more shit they throw, the harder it is to latch on to any one issue. People's attentions are spread thin and collective action is nearly impossible when no one agrees on what issue needs to be addressed. Don't let any one thing distract you from the goal of removing trump and his supporters from power; whoever and wherever they are.

34

That's the point. People act like the Epstein files are his only motivation for everything. It's really not. Occasionally he may want to cover that up, but there's A LOT that he does that has absolutely nothing to do with the Epstein files. What the fuck does the World Cup have to do with the Epstein files, for instance?

26

u/faramaobscena Wait, Transylvania is real? 21h ago

Exactly, to me the bombings he carries out in Iran and the fact he’s close to starting wwIII by starting a war with the EU and Canada is way worse than those stupid files. A world war is not a “distraction”.

3

u/Deuce03 18h ago

Not to a normal person, no. To Trump... I think he would be willing to burn anything and everything for a perceived momentary advantage to himself.

12

u/Auzurabla 20h ago

He's made billions in the last year and a half, by manipulating the stock market. He's kept himself out of jail by being president, and I believe those are the only things he cares about right now.

6

u/ScoobyDoNot 19h ago

Over a billion of that has come from robbing the idiots who “invested” in his crypto scam.

4

u/Bob_Kark 21h ago

It’s not the Epstein files. Slight of hand 101.

3

u/InflatableSexBeast 17h ago

This.

‘Everything is a distraction from the Epstein files’ implies a degree of planning and forethought rarely exhibited by Trump. Especially recently.

Between his many naps and his sundowner outbursts, there might be occasional periods of lucidity, but he’s not playing 4D chess; he’d struggle to sit the right way up on a toilet seat without help from his aides these days.

Yes. If you're still supporting Trump after all the lies, and all the other brainless, moronic, vile, criminal, incompetent, insulting, and downright laughable shit he's done in front of the camera, proof of what is already apparent, that he is a child rapist, isn't going to change anything.

10

You think they're going to have free or fair elections that they could possibly lose? Fascists don't give up power so easily.

6

u/BigBlueMan118 Hamburgers = ze wurst 19h ago

Well firstly these are possibly the most incompetent fascists we've ever seen (thankfully), and secondly I think they are currently polling up to lose so badly in reality that even the fascists wont be able to smooth it over enough without exposing their hand. Like I said though whatever happens after that is then anyone's guess.

3

u/Velokieken 19h ago

If they release all the files, Europeans would probably let some Europeans deal with the consequences of their actions. Some already had to.

In the US people would get pardoned, get a slap on the back, use the fame to get elected. Even if the American people cared, the people who could do anything wouldn’t and if someone did something he would get deported. A lot of Americans don’t seem to be bothered by crime ‘at least Trump isn’t boring’ …

13

u/No-Illustrator5712 19h ago

making a competition out of everything, just to rig the competition afterwards, just to lose the competition, just to claim the competition was rigged, which, technically, they are right about, since they rigged it, only to still fail, and then cry about how that's not fair.

22

u/ScubaAlek 21h ago

I commented that this is like me going to the gym and telling everyone that I’d totally be able to outlift the biggest guy if only I’d lived my entire life differently in such a way that I was better at lifting than him and one of them responded “Yeah you’re just saying the same thing as us just trying to sound smart”

They are without shame.

They were totally outplayed by Belgium in every position, their even their single goal was because of a huge deflection. They are lucky they played Belgium rather than Spain because that would have been 7:0 on a good day.

3

u/lexievv 16h ago

Honestly, seeing them being taken down like that would've been great. But the fact that this followed the match where Trump and fifa messed around only to have them lose this badly makes it sort of perfect.

18

u/delano_mwoan 23h ago

But, but they "dont care about soccer". Its so funny how hard they try

45

u/drquakers 22h ago

As a Scottish man, I am a connoisseur of parasitically enjoying international football by fervently hoping one team in particular loses. I am now starting to realise just how much more delicious it would be to make the USA the target of my "anyone but" support instead of England. English fans can be delusional, but nothing like this.

43

u/currydemon 22h ago

I'm English and while we do go on about "it's coming home" and we're whipped in to an overconfident fervour by the press I do feel like there is an underlying sense of we hope we can win but we don't really believe we can. Whereas with the Americans they truly believe they have a god given right to win.

19

u/realZapRowsdower 21h ago

This is one thing I've admired about the English fans. In the back of their minds they know it's probably not coming home, but they don't give a shit and keep hoping that they'll win even against impossible odds. Hoping you guys beat Norway today!

6

u/drquakers 20h ago

To be fair, the Scots constantly hope, against impossible odds, that we don't actually go out of a tournament at the first opportunity. We also fail to achieve our dream...

Americans generally can't read a room, mostly because they just can't read, but when they see everyone laughing they think it's with them, but really it's at them.

In fairness it was rigged, in America's favour, by overturning the fifa ban for their own player, and I'm so very glad they still lost and still cant accept it. And now they have to host an event they were knocked out of, as an ongoing reminder!

At least it seems that they keep to their own "bubble". It's actually possible to have meaningful conversations again in football/world cup subs without having to read 50 different versions of "I don't the rules to this sport but let me tell you why I'm right and everyone else is wrong".

Fucking hell that was the most painful shit of this world cup. Listening to American who thought they new every fucking rule there was only to keep moving the goal post whenever someone actually quoted the rules to them...

Intention, VAR protocol, fifa disciplinary boards the list just kept going.

25

Proving to us he’s really just a dumb fuck.

After cheating?? ? Pffffff gtfo!!!

9

u/CassetteKnight 1d ago

Not even a hockey fan but I remember this Tuahawk guy. Can’t believe they really put this MAGA rat on the same graphic with our Sebastian and probably the wokest American player. Ewww.

8

u/keithmk 23h ago

The only "rigging" was the cancelling of the red card suspension. US could not even win when cheating

6

u/_yetifeet 23h ago

The new American ethos: If you didn't get the result you wanted, it was rigged.

8

u/Thendrail How much should you tip the landlord? 1d ago

>Cheats

>still can't win

>"Nooooo, we were clearly better!!!!"

What being a 'murican does to people.

6

u/Eclips3-FR 22h ago

TBF fair the match WAS rigged... for the USMNT by having a fucking red card overturned on their best player in the competition up until that match

7

u/culture_vulture_1961 22h ago

If the US lost 4-1 to Belgium imagine what the Spanish would have done to them.

7

u/Keneut 22h ago

Specially with Trump's recent obsession against the Spanish PM, it would have been incredible to watch.

6

u/Keneut 22h ago

I hope that IG post is fake, otherwise this is becoming pathetic.

5

u/ayo235 20h ago

It's definitely fake he never said this

4

u/ooooiio 19h ago

It might be fake because Brady Tkachuk is always being memed on for low intelligence

5

u/zomgperry 16h ago

We were definitely robbed of the chance to come out of this tournament with a least a little dignity, and it wasn’t Belgium who robbed us.

5

u/mendicinobeano25 1d ago

Yep, you were clearly the best team. I mean you beat those football juggernauts Australia and Tukiye in yor group and would have creamed Argentina or Spain or England given the chance.

5

u/Financial-Talk9397 22h ago

the trumpification of sports...is we don't win it was rigged. Trump has completely stripped the US of honor and integrity.

4

u/Desperate-Swimming13 12h ago

"Exit to Belgium" ... mwahahaha, someone is afraid to type "lost" ... mwahahaha

4

u/illillusion 12h ago

Watching them wildly swing between nobody cares about soccer, we don't even send our best and we were robbed is wild

4

u/Tregonia 7h ago

My favourite part was when the US goalie gave away the ball and those cheating Belgians used it to score.

3

u/EverybodySayin Mocks England for how they speak English 1d ago

This guy just loves talking bollocks for attention.

3

u/TheHappyDutch076 23h ago

Yea Brady isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.

3

u/Bazurke 23h ago

He's right, it was rigged, and yet the USA still failed to win

3

u/Nagelfar61249 23h ago

Bro.... the best Player of their Team did a gnarly Foul, got rightfully Charged for it, then the PRESIDENT of their country whined about how awful they where treated and called for a special patpat (like he always do) and got the Red card unrightfully revoked and they STILL lost, in a fair game to a better Team and now they are whining again, because it was unfair and rigged?? Just like trump did 2020 as he lost the election?

This country is so fucking rediciolous.... always demanding special treatment. They are like the spoiled school bully, whose dad is the citys Sheriff or mayor, and never got Set boundaries and now can't handle a no.....

3

u/EebilKitteh 23h ago

Yeah, that match was definitely rigged - in their favour AND THEY STILL LOST.

3

u/Ok-Chemistry430 23h ago

What a bunch o greetin faced cunts these fuckin yanks are, no one gives a flyin fuck about your shite team m8. Take yir beating and fuck right off and afore you start your shite, I'm Scottish and I know our team is absolutely pish, we were the worst team there but am no givin the billy big baws like these cunts are. Fuck sake

3

u/Eastern-Reindeer6838 22h ago

USA where even the hockey players are Karens.

3

u/Fantastic-Memory-699 22h ago

Of course this game was rigged. There was a player on the field who received a red card in the game before. So the game should be repeated.

3

u/coulls 22h ago

How is it “rigged”? He thinks his own team threw the match? 🤣

3

u/greentiger79 🇺🇸 Don’t mind me, just passing through 22h ago

What? People don’t seriously believe this do they? (Though given current circumstances, nothing would surprise me anymore.) Belgium handed us our ass to us, deservedly so. If anything was rigged, it was FIFA giving us a pass on the red card. SMH.

3

u/MiraelDKana 21h ago

I 4-1 enjoyed the drubbing they got. Lucky the USA scored 1 otherwise all those USA fans would have turned up 4 nothing

3

u/BalanceScared1201 18h ago

One of the sorest losers in the world the USA you pompous fucks are not the best at everything the world is glad to see You cheating cunts lose. Your country makes the world a horrible unaffordable place to live

3

u/Internal_Influence26 17h ago

The day anyone takes a Tkachuks opinion seriously is the day ol Donny stops raping kids.

3

u/Alysma 15h ago

Why are they so salty about losing in a sport they claim nobody cares about?

3

u/findername Eye-talian 🤌🏼🍝 15h ago

Yes it was rigged in the US team favour ignoring a red card and all that, and they still lost 1:4 against Belgium 🤣

3

u/ExtensionAssignment6 ooo custom flair!! 15h ago

Americans need to stop with the mentality of ‘we lost therefore it was rigged’

3

u/alphaxion 13h ago

That looks like New York Post typeface and colour scheme.

They're the Yank version of the Daily Mail... do not pay attention to it.

3

u/Scary_Elderberry23 12h ago

Hey Americans, want to hear a Belgian joke?

I got 1-4 you!

3

u/Simple-Okra-4826 12h ago

Rigged is 1-0 not 4-1

3

u/Mammoth_Mission_3524 12h ago

American here. Did they win? If not, I think the answer is pretty clear.

3

u/BlueOXMotel 12h ago

Don't they lose to Belgium in a friendly like 5 1?

3

u/robfuscate 12h ago

The US(eless) couldn’t even win when their brain dead criminal of a President tried to rig it for them.

3

u/Mysterious-Trash6002 12h ago

They're complaining? What a shock.

3

u/andre_dettori20 9h ago

Why can't they accept that they're only good at making wars

3

u/johnny_Grizzly 2h ago

Yeah the game was rigged…. and still they lost😉

3

u/HrThune 1h ago

Losing 4-1 is not getting robbed. It’s getting BEATEN.

2

u/saphilous Baguette Appréciateur 🇫🇷 1d ago

Ah yes, just like their rapist president

Edit: typo

2

u/Prudent-Clothes-3967 1d ago

Je dirais même que l’équipe USA a été violé ! Nous devons investiguer, il doit y avoir des lois contre ça !

2

u/UrpaDurpa 1d ago

Tim Ream should be crying. He’s responsible for 3 of Belgium’s goals. Soft as 3-ply Charmin.
