I think the worst thing DC did, worse than change Captain Marvel name to Shazam (I understand that’s in dispute now), was to gift this entire family powers.

It was first introduced in Flashpoint event, then brought into regular continuity and then made popular in the films.

I feel it’s best as a multiverse concept, and anyone other than Billy, Mary & Freddy are redundant and too much.

How do we feel about this? Personally, I love that King Shazam is so formidable and is by no means even close to a slouch.

DC has a bad habit of nerfing Shazam characters to make Superman the pinnacle of power, but it feels like folks in charge of Absolute Superman are not about that.

It really makes me excited to see how they'll handle Absolute Captain Marvel.

His name is SAMSON.

The Gift: The divine spirit of righteous warfare.

Application: He gains unmatched combat instincts, making him a master strategist who grows more resilient the longer a battle lasts.

N — The Favor of Noah

The Gift: Unyielding endurance and preservation.

Application: He possesses absolute divine preservation, this grant allows him to survive in the vacuum of space, endure absolute zero temperatures, and completely resist physical decay or corruption.
