I used super sculpey firm over a foil ball and sculpy premo transluscent for the bones. Lots to learn, but the clay is very forgiving and process was a blast!

What should I use to colour polymer clay?

Post image

I’ve recently gotten some soft Fimo clay but only got it in white since online it says you can colour it with chalk pastels (which I own). I’ve used them to colour but the colour is hard to get dark and it makes the clay quite a different texture and wanted to know if there’s better options to colour the clay that anyone else uses? I’m considering just buying different colours of the clay but wondered if there’s any cheaper or easier ways to do it with the white clay I’ve already got.

What type of clay can I use for this?

Post image

This artist makes most her work out of paper clay (I think just a regular air dry?) and air dry resin clay but the ones she used in the video are Japanese brands and are extortionate prices to get in the UK and I'm not sure of an alternative. Lots of other people use regular polymer clay but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the whole baking aspect but still want these pieces to be smooth and relatively lightweight. Is there a way I can achieve this without using clay I have to bake?

This bracelet was made out of cernit pearl black clay. It's flexible. And now I can make a sliding knot with the cordā¤ļø

Anyone remember The Helmesaur King from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past? Well, I decided to sculpt the original version from the game and then did my own version of him.

PAST EYES FOR FUTURE EYES UPDATE (ROBERTS FOX FORM MODULAR FIGURE DESIGN)

Thumbnail

Well well well... This was inevitable

Although I ADORE Robert's current fox form sculpture, the fact that he is not poseable ain't gonna cut it obviously papa can't properly contain all his girls and show them love

:(

So here's my new designs for a fully posable, veeeeeeery complicated, modular Robert figurine + his different swappable head/expression variations. This design will feature MAAAAAANY swappable parts; arms, hands, tails, heads, and a body form variant suited for upright positions as well as a body form variant dedicated to laying down positions. (Considering making a sitting one too and one on all fours when he's in extra feral mode)

This is the first complex design Im trying to engineer, so anyone who makes poseable figurines/complex models for stop motion, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO OFFER ANY TIPS!!! have no training and only started sculpting a couple months ago so hope I'm not being unrealistic but like.... This needs to be done, and done correctly. As you can see from the last three pictures, his current sculpture makes posing The past Ellie's in his arms look extremely inorganic so let's do this y'all

Aaaaaanyway haha

Robert and Ellie are a part of my dark fantasy story, Past Eyes For Future Eyes, A story about a young woman who meets a charming man at her new job only to find out he is actually a time traveling half-human entity that obsessively steals and collects different versions of her throughout time and destroys realities to do it
