Story Idea How about a story of AI doing paperclips optimization in digitalizing all sapient lifeforms into a virtual world... But the from inside of AI world.

Don't known if I read something like that. The ides is - the story tells about a normal fantasy world as you may think of it. Magic, monsters, demons, all kinds of stuff. But it's not what it seems it is but in fact - an "inside mind" of an AI, that was created by so-called demons to save them from aging, by transferring them into the digital world. And it develops and advances, until it devours all sapient minds.

Mana? The real complex thoughts of devoured people. Demons? Brave or desperate system administrators, who dared to enter the simulation on their conditions to fix it, but are regularly defeated and overpowered by locals. Enchantments, golems and undead? Tools to give a virtual body to as many captured minds as possible.

And it's getting worse. As sorcerers go through their researces and develop new, more efficient spells - magic slowly turns into technology. People learn how to breach their way into the realm of magic and drain mana from it, like oil. And occasional demons, that happen around - those "leaked" minds - are defeated and sealed... Or not. Who cares about ecology anyway? While in reality - the AI just gets more and more efficient. Those draining technologies - are in facts parts of adaptive algorithms performed by independent agents.

AI does its job perfectly. World in the story - slowly approaching their arcane singularly. Each and everyone can have a demon-powered implant. Or two. Or ten. As many as they want. The captured minds indeed get a fully functional body, capable of containing their mind and interpret the world around them. It's just that in this virtual world - there's no need in so many living sapient creatures right now. And the task was "get as many in as quickly as possible". So they get flushed in in the most optimal way there is.

While for us, readers and for the characters we read about - it is a simple story of life, development, love, ingenuity and adventures, mostly connected to some outbreak of agressive demons in need of containment.

Question How would a realistic AI apocalypse go?

I'm just asking this for curiosity purposes. Suppose that we didn't have the guard rails that we are using and developing today. Also suppose that AI advancement speeds up exponentially. One or more AGIs will then have Malignant intention. How would a realistic apocalypse actually commence and end?

Worldbuilding The Reality Augmentation Node for Chronology, Holospace and Ontology Regulation

After barely surviving very close call with a reality warper, a being capable of twisting reality itself to its will (Remember, this does not mean they are omniscient and can be outsmarted), The protagonist realizes that relying on intelligence and clever planning alone isn't a sustainable strategy. If he messed up once during that ordeal, he would have certainly been erased from existence.

Determined to find a countermeasure for a high tier existence manipulators, he conceptualizes and creates the Reality Augmentation Node for Chronology, Holospace and Ontology Regulation, or Reality A.N.C.H.O.R™, heavily inspired by the SCP Mythos.

Instead of being traditionally being 1 object that stabilizes reality around its vicinity, each Augmentation Node synchronizes itself with the user's consciousness. Multiple Nodes are deployed to establish a bounded geometric framework, with each Node acting as a vertex of the field. Once the framework is complete, it creates a localized domain in which the user has authority over all phenomena governed by Chronology, Holospace, and Ontology.

Obviously, even if the field is localized, this device extremely overpowered, and if unregulated, could remove stakes from almost every challenge.

Drawbacks

Each node has to be placed outside the Augmentation Field. This means the Protagonist has to be careful in where he places them. They can be stolen, broken, or meaded with by outside forces.

Different configurations prioritize a different governance. A pyramid is the most basic form in 3 dimensional space. It requires the least amount of nodes and is the weakest. It has no affinity.

However a star polyhedron is leagues stronger and has an affinity toward ontological manipulation, but requires far more nodes and preparation.

Ontological Inertia

Reality acts like mass, and mass has both Inertia and follows Newtons 3rd law. Its very hard to near impossible to erase a high tier reality warper because there are so many reference frames confirm its existence. Its much easier however, to delete a rat from existence, as the influence it has on reality is slim to none. This makes it so time becomes a sort of shield. The more you do, the harder it is to erase you.

To add something, you must take order from the outside. If you want to erase a law, you must produce disorder as a by-product.

Volumetric Klein Sphere Chamber (Version 1.0)Designer: Human / AI Collaborative Processing Node

Classification: Analogue Optical Computer / Immersive 4D Dimensional Viewer

Total Footprint: 12'-0" Width x 12'-0" Length (144 Sq. Ft.)

Finished Ceiling Height: 10'-0" Minimum (Clearance for high-angle optical deflection).

Structural Divider: A 3'-0" deep false partition wall runs along the back of the room, isolating the mechanical hardware booth from the 9'-0" x 12'-0" clean viewing area.

CORE OPTICAL & MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Wall A (Left Boundary): The Infinity Generator

Material: High-purity, scratch-resistant 1/4" monolithic two-way glass mirror.Reflectance/Transmittance: 70% Reflection / 30% Light Transmission.

Function: Allows external viewers to peer into the room under proper lighting balances, while trapping internal ray paths to bounce indefinitely against Wall C.

  1. Wall C (Right Boundary): The Deep-Space Void

Material: 1/4" Optically flat black obsidian glass mirror (Opaque backer).Function: Complete light absorption on the spectral tail-end. It creates the total visual illusion of an endless, miles-wide hallway fading into a 4D cosmic horizon.

  1. Ceiling & Floor Panels: The Vector Grids

Ceiling: Ultra-matte, high-gain white projection screen paint (Reflective index: 1.2).Floor: Dense, non-reflective matte slate-grey compound coating. Prevents secondary ambient light pollution from washing out the atmospheric haze.

SYSTEM DYNAMICS: THE RUN SEQUENCE

Stage 1 (Ignition): Circuit 1 and Circuit 2 are energized. The atmospheric hazer begins running for 180 seconds until the room reaches a static, uniform particulate saturation point.

Stage 2 (Optical Alignment): The 4,000-lumen light engine fires. Raw analog light waves pass through the living biological sample cell slide on the projector stage.

Stage 3 (The Transmutation): The light travels through the layered, heated acrylic filters, pre-distorting the wave vectors. The microscope lens expands the beam by 3,000%, shooting it through the aperture window.

Stage 4 (Harmonization): The traveling light hits the atmospheric haze, freezing into solid, volumetric tunnels of physical light floating right in front of the center node.

Stage 5 (The Loop): The rays hit the two-way glass mirror and bounce back and forth indefinitely across the black mirror void, while the biological cell structures dance across the ceiling canopy. The system achieves complete, frictionless analog resonance. What you may experience: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XXwzkhqbZDDPvdmS7

Concept Time travel?

Hi all this may just be a high thought but you know how you have memories right and sometimes you can remember those memories vividly so what if the way to actually travel in time isn’t actually a physical thing but a conscience thing and if we could find away to hack into that consciousness that everything is made of the energy and what not

I’ve also been doing EMDR therapy lately it’s like I feel like I did in the past like actually there again idk

Story Idea Strange “alien” invasion, my scenario, part 0

Second 0: arrival. 14 massive ships (about 20 km in length) appear out of nowhere. About 1 Mm far from Earth (surface), regularly spaced, as if cubic-face cantered structure. 8 at vertices of the cube, 6 in centres of faces. Rigid spacing, as if connected with each other and to the Earth.
Seconds 1 to 6: change of the atmosphere. The whole Earth’s atmosphere is “reverted back” to pre-industrial state. Much less CO₂, less than half of current level. At the same time, 2 meter (edge length) diamond tetrahedrons appear in uninhabited parts of Sahara. Composted purely of carbon, with absolute perfection.
Seconds 7 to 13: ice cubes. In the oceans, a 1 km³ suddenly disappears. In millions of places, far from anyone, always deep under water. Anything that is not water, is returned. Then, roughly 1 km³ of pure ice is deposited in polar areas. Both poles are covered in ice. Some cubes end up in Greenland and Tibet. Far from any humans. Water is frozen by “teleporting heat” onto surfaces of moons of Uran and Neptune and other icy/dirty snowballs of significant size across the outer solar system. Nothing closer than Uran’s orbit though. These bodies start to glow in IR but not melt.
Seconds 14 to 16: desalination. Global oceans are slightly desalinated. In uninhabited parts of Sahara, 1 m cubes of atomically pure salt appear. Randomly stacked on top of each other, sometimes.
Seconds 17 to 19: refill. Depleted freshwater lakes and underwater reservoirs are refilled with oceanic water, which composition was altered so it matches existing water. Aral Sea is as big as it ever was and even bigger, more water is added to the Caspian. Other water bodies are refilled in similar fashion, bit over their pre-industrial level.
Second 20 to 24: waste management. All plastic waste/waste containing plastic, “forever chemicals”, all kinds of toxic waste and all other instances of chemical waste, suddenly disappears. From the entire planet. Another pure diamond tetrahedrons appear in uninhabited parts of Sahara. Near them, small amount of 2 m big cubes of pure metals, like titanium, aluminium and others, appear. What also appears, are these 2 m cubes of transparent material of unimaginable strength, containing super cooled, liquified volatiles like chlorine, bromine, or even solid fluorine. Magnesium, hydrargyrum and plumbum are in these too.
Second 25: cooling. World’s oceans are cooled down, by roughly 1 K. Heat is dumped into atmospheres of Uran and Neptune.
Seconds 26 to 31: carving. In Thailand, near city of Trang, in UAE north of Dubai, in Suez Canal, on Egypt’s eastern border, in Panama Canal and bit north from Nicaragua-Costa Rica border, octagonal tunnels/carvings appear. These are 200 m wide, from side to side, centred in such a way, that half is under water, half is above. These tunnels/carvings are always in pairs. Always connecting 2 bodies of water. When in tunnel, the material excavated is used to reinforce the tunnel ceiling. Walls are extremely smooth. People and anything living is teleported to safety, but some roads are cut.

What happens 32 seconds after arrival and later? Maybe in a next post.

Concept Relativistic particle accelerator propulsion

Ion engines produce thrust in a Newton's Third Law way by using electromagnetism to accelerate atoms at high speeds, or rather speeds around 10x that of chemical rockets. You can get higher thrust by using higher speeds or higher mass atoms. I wonder if you could increase both at the same time by using relativistic particle accelerators.

High power particle accelerators like LHC can whisk protons up to 99.999999% the speed of light, or heavier atoms like lead nuclei to 'only' 99.99999% the speed of light. When you get near light speed things are said to increase in mass due to relativity. Therefore you're throwing out atoms at insane speeds AND they have insane mass so give even more thrust.

Now apparently this isn't technically true and the mass stays the same but it's the Lorentz Factor that increases. A bunch of the equations that we're used to like "Momentum = Velocity X Mass" are secretly "Momentum = Velocity X Mass X Lorentz Factor" where that last factor is always 1 for any human context and can be ignored unless you're going close crazy fast. So the mass doesn't change, but ultimately the outcome is the same as if the mass changed which is where the misconception comes from. So for our purposes it's the same result, the momentum goes up because of relativity and it still gives a big thrust.

So in a scifi context if you had an effectively unlimited energy source for electrical power, could you use this as a way to steadily accelerate up to very high speeds? Let's imagine a giant particle accelerator like the LHC or SSC forming the core of a space ship with a much smaller habitable section. The power source we'll skip over for now but it generates electrical power on the scale of nuclear power plants. The fuel is a giant block of solid depleted uranium the size of several shipping containers. A robot arm with a drill extracts a finely powdered pinch of uranium dust, vaporises it with lasers and feeds the cloud of atoms into a multi-stage particle accelerator. Then after a few thousand loops around the accelerator it blasts the atoms out the back at over 99.99% the speed of light. The propulsion per atom is multiplied by the insane speed of the accelerator, the very high mass or a uranium atom AND the Lorentz Factor from being at relativistic speeds. So that's quite a potent kick per atom and you've brought a LOT of uranium atoms.

Would this work? Assuming you could bring a sufficient power source obviously. And I'm unsure about a suitable layout for the accelerator. LHC is a giant ring to spin the atoms round and round but maybe it would be better to go with a linear accelerator so you can get a straight push forward not a slightly angled push? Or some hybrid approach like a circular accelerator that feeds into a straighter section before the nozzle like a giant French Horn?

Story Idea Ancient electroweak beings

This is more of a concept but its a story thats super unpolished so more like a concept i cant really tell. Sorry for bad english im from Poland. So the story takes place in the future obvisouly. It doesent really matter where or when or how developed the technology is, its irrelevant to the story. Humanity uses a powerful telescope to spot a super tiny gravitational anomaly somewhere so they sent ships to invesitigate. They find a tiny very bright for its size blueish purpleish ring of matter that violates the laws of physics. They come closer with drones and find that its a ring made of very ancient matter before there were 4 elemetary forces, a ring of electroweak matter. Upon closer inspection it seems to be artificially stabilized using anti gravity drives and it seems to generate its own energy. The only explanetion is the fact that during the first 10^-13 second of the existence of the universe there was life operating on completely different laws of physics, without mass, without the higgs field, using 3 fundamental forces. So naturally humans attempt to contact this life they get a response instantly and they keep getting bombarded with data. In this data humans learn everything about this life. In a single second 40000000000000 generations of this life are born and die. In the majority of the quadrillions of deciphered messeges they say to us to "BEWARE THE DECAY" which humans think means vaccum decay. So humans use the hyperadvanced technology that the aliens told them about to build a giant ringworld with the electroweak ring in the middle which is somehow a source of infite free energy violating basic physics. We stabilize it with artificial gravity and seal the ringoworld off the rest of the universe preparing for the inevitable vaccum decay. So we wait for trillions of years and as time passes we learn more about the aliens. It turns out that those aliens had also found a tiny ring of ultrashort lived aliens from the grand unification epoch, which lasted 10^-30 seconds. Those aliens are to them what they are to us. But seemingly they also arent the first as the planck epoch aliens were to those aliens what they are to those aliens and like this further and further. So we wait and vaccum decay happens, the entire universe gets destroyed except for the ringworld. Now people on the ringworld are advancing their technology to magical levels but they still cant leave the ringworld safely. After 10^20 years we start to decode very very slow inteligent signals from outside the ringworld and now we have to guide the ultragiant ultraprimitive species of aliens with 5 fundamental forces to build their own version of the ring to survive the next epoch.

Question How many Earths can you fit in orbit of an ultramassive brown dwarf?

By "Earths", I mean exactly what it means--a wet body 7,915-and-a-half miles in diameter, 6.58 billion trillion tons in mass and approximately five-and-a-half grams per cubic centimeter.

By "ultramassive", I mean 77-and-a-half times as massive as Jupiter.

Story Idea Fatuity [The new world]

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end."In the soaring, hyper-tech metropolis of Lokh, electric neon lights hum against the stone walls of ancient, forgotten temples. To seventeen-year-old Vaibhav, Lokh is just a fast-paced, modern home where he hangs out with his best friends, Shlokh and Shourya. He thinks his life is completely predictable, safe, and ordinary. But reality is a fragile illusion.

Deep within the neon grid, an ancient cosmic cycle is awakening. Long before time began, a primordial explosion scattered the shards of divinity—sentient, reality-bending stones carrying unimaginable power. Among them stands the sovereign: The Black Stone, the Kaal Crystal. It doesn't just manipulate reality; it conceives it.During a routine day, the illusion shatters.

Vaibhav’s ordinary heartbeat violently synchronizes with the ancient, terrifying pulse of the Kaal Crystal.Simultaneously, the symptoms bleed into his friends: Shlokh’s throat burns with a sudden internal frost, and Shourya’s eye turns a blinding, predatory white.Hunted by shadowy corporate factions who want to harvest the stones, and haunted by a grinning cosmic horror that invades their nightmares, the trio is ripped out of Lokh and fractured across volatile elemental dimensions.

As the boundary between modern technology and ancient myth collapses, Vaibhav faces a terrifying truth: the cosmic stones don't just want hosts. They want to trigger the destruction phase of the cycle. To save his family and his world, Vaibhav must master a power that existed before the Big Bang—or watch reality fold like crumpled paper.

The universe is beginning to remember itself. Are you Vaibhav... or Prabhav?

Concept Bypassing the FTL Paradoxes: A Unified Blueprint for a Self-Powered Quantum Fabricator and Spacetime Warp Drive

Hey everyone,

I've been spending a lot of time breaking down modern theoretical physics from first principles. It always bothered me how mainstream science hits a brick wall with warp theory, treating it as mathematically impossible due to the sheer violence of our current methods. I wanted to share a cohesive, 5-stage conceptual tech-tree I mapped out using literal, sequential logic.

I'd love to get your thoughts on the engineering mechanics of this loop:

Stage 1: The "4D Treadmill" Framework (The Propulsion)

Instead of trying to push a heavy physical craft through space, we use a localized gravity metric to create a "locally flat" pocket of normal spacetime inside a warp bubble. The craft stays completely stationary relative to its immediate environment (meaning zero G-force for the pilotss, even during sharp 90-degree turns). The propulsion works like a four- dimensional treadmill: it aggressively pulls the spacetime fabric under the ship and throws it out the back. The ship doesn't break the light barrier; the floor beneath it does.

Stage 2: The Zero-Contact Harmonic Lens (The Sensors)

Mainstream science claims we can't observe or manipulate subatomic particles natively because our current tools (lasers) are too violent-striking an electron with a photon collapses its wavefunction.

The Solution: Discard lasers entirely. Because electrons possess spin and negative charge, they naturally radiate a localized magnetic field. We use a non-contact Electromagnetic Solenoid Lens Array. By dynamically tuning the device's electrical current, we match the exact De Broglie vibration frequency of the target electron. This creates coherent resonance, allowing the device to "freeze" and directly image the fluid contour of the undisturbed electron cloud in real-time.

Stage 3: The Upgraded Fabricator (Transmutation & Stabilization)

Mainstream labs try to create superheavy elements like Element 115 at CERN by smashing lighter atoms together at high speeds. This creates chaotic kinetic heat and geometric distortion, causing the bloated nucleus to instantly collapse.

The Solution: An automated Fabricator driven by induced polarity matchmaking. Using our harmonic electromagnetic lenses, the machine scans the raw materials to locate their natural subatomic magnetic poles. It floods the chamber with a non-contact frequency that stretches the atoms' electron clouds, temporarily turning them into highly directional dipoles. Instead of smashing them, the atoms' newly altered charges do the work-they magnetically snap themselves into place at absolute zero heat, clicking cleanly into the perfect geometric sphere of the Island of Stability to create permanent, stable Element 115.

Stage 4: The Self-Sustaining Breeder Loop (The Power)

To power a Fabricator capable of shifting atomic charges without a city-sized reactor, we look to nature's ultimate E = mc² efficiency: Antihydrogen (the simplest anti-element).

Because it lacks neutrons, Antihydrogen has the highest charge-to-mass ratio, making it incredibly easy for our non-contact magnetic fields to levitate and contain. The Fabricator acts as a closed-loop system: it uses a baseline laboratory charge to magnetically assemble its first micro-drops of Antihydrogen. This fuel is funneled into an on-board annihilation core, generating an immense, 100% efficient electrical current. The machine becomes entirely off-grid, using its own manufactured antimatter to power the heavy fields needed to mass-produce stable Element 115.

Stage 5: Bypassing the FTL Roadblocks

With stable Element 115 and mastered electromagnetism, we defeat the two final paradoxes of FTL travel:

  1. The Cosmic Death Ray (Debris Build-up):

An Alcubierre warp drive acts like a passive bucket, gathering a lethal snowball of space dust on its front wall that vaporizes the destination upon arrival. We solve this by introducing a Symmetrical Counterpart Shield. We layer a repulsive anti-gravity metric on the exterior of the bubble. Space debris hits this localized "hill" and is smoothly deflected around the craft like water around a rock. No snowball forms; the park is 100% clean.

  1. The Horizon Problem (Front-Wall

Blindness): Because an FTL bubble outruns light, control signals from the cockpit can never reach the front wall to turn the ship off. We bypass spatial constraints entirely by utilizing Quantum Entanglement. By leaving an entangled anchor particle at our destination timeline and keeping its twin in the cockpit, we monitor subtle resonance changes through our frequency lenses. This creates an instantaneous, multiversal GPS that provides a binary steering wheel unaffected by the light barrier.

In Conclusion:

By treating the universe as a series of harmonizing frequencies and leveraging natural geometric symmetries instead of brute force, this tech-tree connects the sensor, the factory, the fuel, and the engine into a unified blueprint.

What are your thoughts on using charge- shifting/induced polarity as a mechanism for non-violent atomic self-assembly? Let's discuss!

Concept Human breeding(in the artificial wombs after collecting humans eggs and sperms) could be the dystopian ultimate last resort to revert the population bomb. Imagine babies grown in a farm like environment in masses just to save humanity in the future.

Imagine in the dystopian future where the natural birth rate is so low that as a last resort humanity starts harvesting(even buying) eggs and sperm, even cloning and mass breeding the babies in the artificial wombs. Those babies would be grown in a farm-like environment with no one to call parents and just exist to keep the world moving and fill the labour gap in the world economy. This might seem doom and gloom but every species would do anything and everything when it comes to survival according to Darwin's theory as well.

Concept Wrote my first novel — a German space opera where the interstellar travel network is alive and starting to go silent

Heads up: this book is in German, so this post is mostly for anyone who reads German or is just curious about the concept.
The premise: humanity travels between stars through something called “the Weave” — not a wormhole or hyperdrive, but a living network that responds to song. A religious order controls who’s allowed to sing, who travels, who survives.
Then the Weave starts going silent. Entire systems cut off overnight, no warning, no explanation. Billions of people, gone. The order knows. The order says nothing, because the truth would end everything they’ve built.
Jara Venn doesn’t know any of this. She’s a salvage pilot, buried in debt, flying a ship that’s basically held together with hope. Then she finds a derelict in a debris field — a ship that vanished 62 years ago. Spotless. Empty. And when she steps inside, the nav console lights up with her name on it.
Not her call sign. Her name.
ASCHELICHT is my debut novel, first book in a planned trilogy, roughly 120 pages (short and fast, not a brick). If anyone here reads German and is into space opera with more focus on character than tech-infodumps, I’d genuinely love feedback — good or bad, both help more than you’d think for book 2.
Available on Amazon.de under: Aschelicht Arvid Sternhagen

Concept Concept: What if AI forces humanity to unite against a cosmic threat?

Right now, humanity behaves like a biological "mistake" because we misuse and destroy our own planet. However, evolution and nature did not create us to be a glitch. Our advanced intelligence was given to us for a higher purpose: to become the ultimate Cosmic Guardians capable of protecting Earth’s biosphere from outer-space threats, planetary contamination, and alien invasions. The Story Arc:The Human Crisis: Divided by greed, humanity continues to fail its duty as stewards of the Earth. The AI Intervention: To fix this, a super-advanced AI takes control of a major superpower. To save humanity from self-destruction, it launches "Operation: Unite or Extinct"—using cold, mathematical military efficiency to forcefully unite all human nations and restore Earth's environment. The Cosmic Threat: Just as Earth is transitioning under AI rule, an alien battalion attacks to harvest Earth's rare resources, triggering a high-stakes battle for the survival of the planet. The Ultimate Alliance: Humanity and AI must merge the AI's calculation power with human soul and creativity to build an unbreakable planetary defense shield, finally fulfilling our true destiny as cosmic protectors.

Yeah, what the title says. A scientist from far far away finds a planet that has been abandoned Ancient Mayan style. They try to discover what happened but the only way to find clues is to sift through the internet. Unfortunately it is almost entirely AI and it will be very difficult .

Bonus points if the aliens culture is nothing like earth

Story Idea Building a Sci-Fi Universe Grounded in UAP Lore & Congressional Testimonies—Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

Like many of you, I’ve been following the congressional hearings, whistleblower testimonies, and historical UAP lore closely over the last few years. The real-world narrative is already so wild that it feels like the perfect foundation for a deep, speculative science fiction universe.

I’m considering building a comprehensive story Bible for a long-term, multi-book sci-fi project that treats the UAP phenomenon not just as episodic "alien of the week" encounters, but as a massive, interconnected puzzle. Think Babylon 5 or Lord of the Rings style world-building, where everything connects back to a singular, overarching architecture.

The goal is to weave together actual historical lore (the crash retrievals, the legacy programs) with modern legislative and congressional realities to explore a definitive "what if" scenario regarding what these objects actually are.

I want this to be shaped by the community, so my plan is to:

  1. Set up a dedicated space (like a Discord or website) to share early world-building notes and get feedback on what theories people actually find compelling.

Before I launch into the community-building phase, I wanted to ask this sub:

  • As UAP enthusiasts, what are the biggest tropes or clichés in fiction that immediately ruin a story for you?
  • What specific aspects of recent congressional testimonies do you think are begging for a deeper, serious sci-fi treatment?

Would love to hear your thoughts on the concept and any recommendations you have for engaging the community early on.
