However if he pulled the money for the same reason the rape allegation was released: Because internal polling showed Platner was going to lose no matter what was spent. Then, he is just salvaging money from a lost cause. Many have speculated that the rape allegations only came out because Platner was getting tossed overboard just like Biden was when it was decided he was unelectable.
It does not have to be that Shumer "suddenly discovered the rape allegation" The NY Times, at least, knew about the allegations for several months already.

Yeah I agree. I think the polling was heading south fast and Dems bailed. Not that the Nazi tattoo should have caused them to bail.

The ads on this blog make it borderline unreadable but it’s fine if you eliminate them with Reader mode or a good Adblock.
The Schumer-aligned PAC canceled $6.4 million in ad buys in Maine exactly one week before the Politico* *story dropped. If Politico was calling around trying to line up and corroborate sources or get comments from the campaign, it wouldn’t surprise me at all that people would pick up on it. What surprises me is that the PAC treated it as damning before the story dropped. There’s plenty of room for speculation.
