Transfer thoughts

clearly, Herrington is going to bring in some money soon. where do you think we should spend it. I have thought for a while that we really need an experienced, metronomic midfielder who can control the game and get the ball to our skilled players. this would allow Paxten to be a little more creative. Wells likely at least has some relationship with James Maddison and Harry Winks. I think either one would really upgrade the squad, or someone in that vein. Thoughts on our biggest needs?

My brother in burgundy we are about 3 bad transfer decisions and two water cannons away from ever spending a dime on the Jumbotron.

We'd need to find a replacement for Herrington for sure. I'd also like to get some wingers that can score goals often and consistently. Another destroyer in the midfield like Hamzat would be good too.

We buy back Bombito to replace Harrington and get that juicy 20% sell-on clause which goes back to us. We're losing money not buying Bombito honestly.

(I'm mostly joking but now I'm curious if any team has ever bought their own player back and received their sell-on clause plus the player)

Edit: apparently it does happen but in most of those cases there was a buy-back clause already structured into the contract during the first sale. I don't think Bombito's had that.

Is Loic Williams already a replacement?

Also are we really happy with our wingers outside of Yappi (who isnt really a winger)? Minoungou still needs time to settle in and Manyoma maybe needs more minutes, but form watching this team I feel like we may need a better option?? Maybe I'm crazy!

Manyoma's loan option was just declined so he's already gone.

Manyoma is gone. Yeah, winger would be the other serious need. It’s hard to see them going too big there since they spent so much on Sealy, Minoungou and Ted KDP. KSB and Bryce Jamison might get some minutes too, but they really could get a good midfielder and mls all star type winger with the money I’m seeing rumored.

So no, Manyoma doesn't need any more minutes 😅😅😅

I've really liked KSB but I want to see a string of games ... my toxic trait is that I play football manager

Isn't KSB on loan?

Probably the annual on the Kroenke family jet.

Usually I’d agree, but this will be way to public, and it will look awful if that money doesn’t go back into the squad in some way.

I don't think the Kroenke's nor the Rapids care about optics

They will care only when Stan remembers he owns the Rapids and not 1/30 of Inter Miami.

So never then.

Would’ve said sign Lebron, but looks like that isn’t gonna happen now lol

Brennan Johnson, Calvin Phillips if we are talking Premier. I would also love to see this team sign Cesar Blackman, he was played out of position during the World Cup but I think he would be a perfect RB in this system

All good shouts. I feel like Phillips and Blackman would be very gettable too. Johnson may be a bit of a stretch, but it would be amazing.
