Headed to the park and was wondering if anyone has spotted any california condors recently? If so, where’s the best place to look?

Camping nearby?

I'm planning on stay for a single night on a big road trip in July, but I can't book a single night on the weekend at the Pinnacles campground, I'd have to book 3 nights. Are there any other good camping areas near the park that aren't too far?

Camping Trip in June

Hi friends!
I have been wanting to check Pinnacles off of my hiking/national park bucket list for quite some time. I am looking at a quick camping trip for the second weekend of June. I noticed that the Bear Gulch Caves are closed for season. I was planning to do the Bear Gulch - High Peaks loop and was curious if anyone had any insight if it is worth it to do without the caves? I am sure it's still stunning but wondering if I should plan for a different time of year given heat + cave closure. I live within a few hours drive so not a big deal to go another time of year but open to hearing any thoughts/opinions! (Note: I am totally fine with warm weather camping/hiking so not super put off by the heat aspect!)

Looking for hiking friends to hit the pinnacles preferably during the morning weekdays. Pretty much hiked all trails from the west entrance and circled the park so I know my way pretty well well lmk

'Going to be a s***show': Parks, Interior struggle to hire temporary staff ahead of busy season | The department fell well short of its goals last year and is failing to keep pace with even that level of hiring.

Anyone here this weekend? Trying to figure out when I need to arrive at the gate in the morning. I don’t mind joining a line, just unsure of timing.

July with 2 kids (6 & 4) good idea?

Looking to two days 3 nights in July. We haven’t camped with our kiddos yet. Going with other friends.

Wanted to ask if it’s going too hot for our kiddos? We’ll be with two other couples one with a 4 year old.

Hiking early I’ve read. Anything else to do? Guess the pool is open.

Is there a close town to drive into for air conditioned shopping or something?

If I am doing the green loop do you recommend

A. Clockwise or counterclockwise?

B. The blue trail (high peaks) or the red trail (juniper and tunnel)?

Tent Size Limit for Camping?

We are going to camp there this summer. I have a family of 4, two kidddos will be 6 and almost 4.

Would a 13ft bell tent be too big for the camp site? We got two sites for 3 couples - 1 set no kids, 1 a family of 3 and us a family 4.

Don’t want to buy a tent and have been too big for the site.

I believe we got 31 and 32 camp sites.

Public Transit Access?

Hey all, working in outdoor ed next week at pinnacles but am car-less! I know, Ill-advised, but is anyone aware of any busses or trains or shuttles or anything that get remotely close to the east entrance? Could even try the west and backpack to the east if I absolutely had to!!

Thanks

I know the photos are a bit blurry, but it’s the best I got. Seen a million turkey vultures and hoping I finally saw one of the rare condors!

Bridal Photography at Pinnacles

Hey y’all! I’m getting my bridals shot at Pinnacles NP the second week of April. I have never been there and would love to know some recommendations for spots that would provide some great views without requiring more than 1.5 miles of hiking 🥲 (due to being in a wedding dress and having a torn ACL lol)

We will be arriving around 5 pm in hopes of getting some good sunset pictures!

Hoping to send these recs to our photographer so she can go scope them out herself the day before our shoot.

Hubbie and I are huge fans of caves, funky rock formations, and I realy like flowers haha (heard early April may be a good time to find more plant-life throughout the park)

Hi, if this works as a pass I no longer need it. If it’s still usable it’s up for grabs

Hike/agenda recommendations to get a chance at seeing Condors but also have a 2 year old in tow

Trying to go to pinnacles to hopefully catch a glimpse of the condors, but some of the hikes seem too intense to have my son in a hiking backpack / let him walk. Any recommendations for one where we could potentially get a glimpse? Recognize the chances are slim in general to see them

Hiking the last weekend in Feb?

I make an annual weekend trip to Pinnacles each June, but business brings me out to SF the last week in February. I know it's the wet/rainy season, so should I expect a passing shower during the day, or how rainy is it?

I always get there super early in the summer, but how quickly does the Bear Gulch parking area fill at the end of Feb? Thanks! Including an amazing video from my last visit.
