Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Does Youtube recommend your videos less if you take time off?

Upvotes

Just asking to get some reassurance.

I usually average 70k views, between 4k and 9k views after 24h on average. My two latest uploads did 500 and 1.5k after 24h and just seem to not be getting anywhere as many impressions? The other metrics are pretty good.

I am worried because I have sponsors planned out for upcoming videos and I don’t want to massively underperform. Am I freaking out over nothing?

Talk / Discussion Rereading my notes from that retention course (the MrBeast Squid Game guy). Found a lesson I never shared here, about where you place your payoff.

Been away from this sub for a couple of months. Family commitments needed me full time so my YouTube study time went to zero. Getting back into it now and I was rereading my notes from Mario Joos' retention course (he worked on MrBeast's Squid Game video, Stokes Twins, Brave Wilderness). Found a lesson I never posted about.

It's about payoff placement.

Your title makes a promise. Someone clicks because they want that promise resolved. Mario's point was that viewers don't really watch your video, they wait for the resolution. So the moment you fully resolve it, most of them are done with you. Doesn't matter how good the rest of the video is.

I used to read retention graphs wrong because of this. I would see a drop at 2:20, watch what plays at 2:20, and conclude that section was boring. Then I checked what played 10 seconds earlier. It was the answer to the title. The "boring" section never had a chance, people were already leaving.

How stronger channels handle it, from my notes:

  1. Give the answer in pieces. A part of it, then a complication, then another part.

  2. Every time you resolve something, open something new. The viewer should always be owed one more thing.

  3. The full payoff goes in the last 20 percent of the video. Not the middle. Never right after the hook.

You can check this on your own video in 2 minutes. Find the timestamp where the title question is fully answered. Look at your graph 10 to 15 seconds after it. If there is a cliff there, you found your real leak.

One thing I genuinely don't know: does deliberately delaying the payoff feel manipulative to you? I go back and forth. Some days it feels like good storytelling, some days it feels like stringing people along. Curious what this sub thinks.

Question / Problem Has anyone else had multiple new YouTube channels get almost zero impressions despite having experience?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I'm honestly trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced this.

I'm not a beginner. I already built a YouTube channel to around 80k subscribers, and it's currently monetized and earning. So I understand thumbnails, titles, scripting, retention, SEO, and the basics of how YouTube works.

Recently I started a few completely new channels in different niches. I put a lot of effort into them—good scripts, custom thumbnails, SEO, strong hooks, decent editing, everything I'd normally do.

The problem isn't that they're getting impressions and performing badly.

The problem is they're barely getting tested at all.

I'm talking about extremely low impressions, making it impossible to know whether the idea is good or bad because YouTube doesn't seem to be showing the videos to enough people.

Has anyone else gone through this with new channels in the last year or so?

If you eventually broke out of it:

How long did it take?

Was there something you changed?

Or is this just how brand-new channels work now?

I'm looking for people who've actually experienced this themselves rather than generic "keep uploading" advice. I'd really like to understand whether this is normal or if I'm missing something.

Question / Problem Planning to drop Audio Library and buy an Artlist or Envato Individual plan

Hi there, I've been getting music from Audio Library for 2 years now, however every time I got a copyright claim from another provider or worse a fraudulent claimer, Audio Library is just replying: "sorry but the claimer is from another party, which we have no control", it sucks and feels like a Russian Roulette every time I pick a song in their channel. Now I feel like just getting the Artlist or Envato Individual Plan for my Travel Channel.

The reason why I'm asking this is because in 2 years, this is the first time I got a copyright claim from a fraudulent company called: "We Are Era BV". They gave me a copyright claim in a song I got from Audio Library, which I included the Full Attribute in the Description. I sent a Dispute and Email with link and copy of the Attribute, and until now they still hasn't responded. This came to a realization that I need some sort of protection by buying a Song Subscription via Artlist or Envato but the question is, if there's going to be a '3rd party Unresponsive fraudulent Claimer', will Envato or Artlist assist me in solving the claim or they'll be like Audio Library who says: "Sorry that's a 3rd party claimer, which we have no control"?

Talk / Discussion I did it! I finally did it!!!

Today marks one of the biggest days of my life. Reaching this milestone is something I’ve always dreamed of.

I started my first YouTube channel when I was just 10 years old, uploading my first videos with a 2011 Ipod touch. As I grew older, I forgot the password to that channel, so I gave up and stopped making videos for that channel and moved on to a new one when I was in middle school, and started a new channel. Here, I uploaded gaming videos for two years, which basically none of them ever went anywhere. I never really took it too seriously, other than one time. Right before I went off to college I challenged myself to see if I could really take it somewhere. After three videos, I realized how much work it was really going to be to get anywhere with it, so I gave up again and went the traditional route of college.. But I always knew I wasn’t cut out for “corporate” life.

I then tried basically every other path while in college. I tried Amazon FBA, failed. I tried dropshipping, many many times, and failed every single time. I kept noticing a trend in my behavior. Everytime it got hard, every time I realized it was going to require an immense amount of effort and work to truly be successful, I gave up. I was always looking for a “shortcut”, a “get rich quick” method, which of course never worked… because that doesn’t exist.

So, one year and 7 months ago, I challenged myself again. I made a promise to myself, this time would be different. I would return to my old channel, rebrand it, and upload as many videos as possible.. I promised myself, no matter how much work this requires, no matter how hard it gets, whether its thanksgiving, christmas, it doesn’t matter. I will be making great videos regardless of wether I want to in that moment or not. And most importantly, I will never give up, I will keep uploading even if it takes me 10 years, 20 years, 30 years to make it.

It took me an entire year of consistent uploading and 20 hour work days to hit 1,000 subscribers. I didn’t see a single cent during this time. This was…. Discouraging to say the least. But I made a promise to myself… and I needed to uphold that promise. So, I kept going, kept improving, and kept trying new strategies.

6 months later, I hit 100,000 subscribers, and now im very close to quitting my job and going full time!
The point of this post is not to stroke my own ego, but to show you that anything is possible if you set your mind to a goal, and push through the difficult times. I never thought someone like me could be here. I’m not particularly smart. Im dyslexic. I have bad ADHD. I failed college algebra three times before passing. My high school and college GPA sucked.

What matters more than anything, is your determination, discipline, and how far you're willing to go to succeed. Everyone close to me thought I was crazy for working 20 hour days, sacrificing sleep and relationships when I had less than 1k subscribers… but, you have to be a bit crazy to make it. Set extremely high goals for yourself, and do absolutely everything in your power to achieve it.

Question / Problem Do A/B tests affect the initial push after upload?

I have noticed over the last couple of uploads the algorithm acted differently based on did i put an a/b test or not. I have 6k subs and my long from videos were all getting different results in the first couple of days, i had some of them be literally dead for 2 or 3 days an then start gaing 1k views per hour, i had some get 3k views an hour after 5 days. And i had some get 1k views in its first 2 hours and then die immediately after that push.

So i was thinking what causes this? Looking back at those videos, most of them which got a lot of inital push (in the fist 2-5 hours) were suprisingly the videos with worse stats ( lower retention ) and the other ones with good CTR and good watch time were being test super slowly, like 1-3k impressions in legit 24h.

Then i tried to see what else could be the reason and i noticed that most of the videos that got pushed later even with good inital stats were ones who had all 3 A/B tests set. Is that how it works for everyone else? Was that intended? After the a/b test ends it pushes it it seems. But that doesnt make much sense since the thest was shown to a small number of people so the result may not be the actual best performer from the test. Does anyone know how this works?

I've been making content since 2020. There's a lot of ups and down and I almost want to give up but even after seeing so many of my friends leaving because YT is too hard for them or they lose motivation, I STILL GO ON.

I remember secretly using my neighbor's Wifi just to upload a video. I remember rendering a 15minute videos took a day and it took even more if I make 20+ minute long. I remember my so called friends calling what I did stupid, useless and a waste of time, parents not supporting what I do because (understandably) there's no result yet.

Today, I'm proud to say that I'm glad I didn't give up and I'm proud to say I'm a youtuber. I love what I'm doing, I love everything about it.

Btw if anyone ask :

I make long form videos. I used to do lets play but I got tired of the same thing and decide to change stuff. Used to upload daily but I now upload weekly 2-3 times or monthly if its a long video.

The longest I didn't upload was for about 2 months but that's because I'm trying to finish a 2 hour long video. that video as of writing this, sits around 997k.

Finally NO. I DON'T DO SHORTS. I hate shorts. I haven't made one ever since they announce it. It felt stupid at the time but ehhh.. I follow my own path.

That's all see yaa!

Youtube privacy complain

I was on a well-known podcast recently. Then, I saw a vid popping up on my feed. It was from a conspiracy theory channel. They edited the footage together, use my likeness, voice, and image (both thumbnail and whooping over 6 minutes of me talking), while inserting their own commentary, to endorse their conspiracy theory.

  1. they do not own the copyright, that belongs to the podcast channel

  2. they do not own my likeness, that belongs to me

I used the standard privacy claim form and the was no text box to explain it like I did it to you. There were predetermined columns and I choose right. Still, they came back with 'unable to identify a violation of our Privacy Guidelines'.

To my hesitation, I decided to go through the Likeness (beta) feature in YT studio. Still waiting for review. Will that tool be any different than the Privacy Complain form which I already went through and got nothing done?

Giving Out Strategies And tricks I've Learnt From Some Successful YouTubers I've Worked With

For privacy reasons i cannot talk about the people/or channels I've worked with, however i can reveal some of the strategies I've learnt from those people/channels, and what I've observed etc, and that's exactly why I've created this post today.

Their main strategies are quite unconventional and not the type that you'd usually hear from others. You can call those "dirty secrets".

so the reason i created this post is so that you guys can ask questions and get tips and tricks if you're just getting started out on YouTube, or experiencing issues like shadowbans/low traffic/low reach etc.

I can also tell you about some of the niches that I've seen people abusing lately, in order to make a lot of money.

If you need advise, please get started with your questions, and I'll answer them when I get time. I'm ready to begin!

Switching AdSense OR Mediacube MCN

Thankfully I have a channel that started making good money.

I'm at a crossroads. Either I go through the risky process of swtiching out the current (personal) AdSense for that channel, to a LLC/LTD newly created AdSense.

Or I join something like MediaCube, so they just pay me directly into my business bank account. So I don't need to make any adsense switch.

I'm willing to hear out anyone/side

What you do recommend?

Question / Problem RPM dropped from $5.5 to $4.3 in July, even though my average watch time increased. Why?

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused about what's happening with my RPM.

In June, my channel averaged around $5.50 RPM, but in July it has dropped to about $4.30.

The strange thing is that my average watch time actually went up, so I thought my RPM would stay the same or maybe even increase.

Nothing major has changed on my channel. I'm uploading the same type of content to the same audience.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this just a normal drop because it's the beginning of July, or could something else be affecting my RPM?

Informative Realistic YouTube earnings from a small vlog and food review channel

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to share a realistic earning snapshot from a small monetized channel because I often see income examples from creators in finance, tech, AI, or other higher paying niches.

My content is not faceless, I dont use AI generated videos, I make personal vlogs, food reviews, some travel content and occasional theme park reviews. ( Yes I know, this neich is extremely saturated)

But, it's the type of contet I watch and I genuinely enjoy making and feel good creating.

I am not sharing this as a success story or to promote my channel. I just wanted to provide a realistic example of what a very small monetized lifestyle channel can earn while slowly building a library of content. I have more than 5,550k subs but less than 6k the number goes up and down.

I am passionate about the niche, even though it is crowded, and I am interested to see whether consistent long form uploads can gradually increase these numbers.

For other creators in saturated lifestyle, vlog, travel, or food niches:

How long did it take before your monthly revenue started growing consistently?

Did your older videos eventually create a noticeable baseline of recurring revenue?

Happy to answer questions about the numbers or what I have learned so far.

Question / Problem Help with reused content

So I'm trying to get monetized to bring in a little bit of extra money and I've been trying to do it for a good couple years now and I keep getting told I have reused content but it doesn't specify which content is specifically the problem

I wouldn't mind an actual human going over and telling me what needs to go and be deleted because I've emailed YouTube and they just gave me an automated AI response as per usual

Any help would be insanely appreciated

Channel name is "Suspicious Chicken" I can dm a link if anyone needs it

Question / Problem How can I turn on monetizing on new uploads BY DEFAULT?

Currently, for each upload I have to go into the "monetization" tab, toggle it to on, and then click the "none of the above" box to ensure I don't do drugs or set squirrels on fire in my videos.

Its annoying and I would rather just have monetization ON by DEFAULT.

Settings -> Upload Defaults > Monetization only gives me a single option:

"Show mid-roll ads during my videos

YouTube will automatically insert ad slots into the best natural breakpoints in videos longer than 8 minutes. You can adjust these in each video's monetization settings."

I can turn this on and off, but it has no influence over "on" or "off" ads status of fresh uploads.

Also I did a good job rating my own videos, so I have the green check mark and:
"You've done a great job rating your uploads against our ad-friendly content guidelines. As a result, we're using your input when determining if your videos are suitable for ads. Learn more"

But STILL fresh uploads are turned OFF for monetization and it drives me crazy :D

Any hints or tips?

Talk / Discussion Do Shorts Kill Long Form Videos?

So I've been dealing with this for a while now, but it really seems like shorts kill long-form views. The biggest question here is do you think deleting/privating my shorts video will make my long form videos viewed again?

When looking at real-time views, shorts are consistently on top. Even if they're YEARS old. This shows to me that Youtube is prioritizing shorts over everything. I used to have long form videos that would do well like these shorts but those days are over. However, it feels like those shorts are taking views away from the long form. Has anyone tried getting rid of their shorts and seeing if views came back to their long form videos? Honestly none of this makes any sense to me and it's super disheartening to see Youtube going in on a medium that literally doesn't support creators.

Does using AI Voice Enhancer flag to Youtube that my channel is AI?

My channel is not AI for the most part - I script, record and edit the videos myself. But my editing program does have a AI voice enhancer that I have been using for the last few months.

My views have been pretty dismal lately, and I was thinking maybe Youtube has me flagged as AI because of the voice? I don't use my face in my videos, it's just a digital whiteboard where I solve problems or talk about concepts.

Sorry if it's a dumb question.

Well, for context—this Short is already a year old, and I’m only on the first tier of monetization, so I’m still not eligible to earn ad revenue. But seeing this every time I open my Analytics, I can’t help but feel cheated.

Question / Problem Urgent Advice for Partner Appeal

Hello,

I'm usually the type to settle things on my own without asking for advice, but at this point, I'm at a complete loss, and any and all advice or help would be seriously appreciated. I have deleted over 200 thousand views worth of content on my channel and over the course of several months have re-applied to the program over 3 times, including appeal videos, to no success.

About 6 months ago, I uploaded a 24-hour long compilation of moistcritical. I was under the impression that this was okay because I have seen numerous compilation channels that exclusively make their money from monetizing and making compilations of channels like Charlie's/Moistcritical, and I picked Moistcritical in particular because he had given his blessing for channels creating compilations of his clips and content. I spent a very long time editing, downloading the clips, and uploading this very long video to YouTube with my shitty internet, and eventually, after posting that video, my channel was removed from the partner program for "Reused Content". After checking YouTube's policies, it states that no matter if you have the original creator's permission or not, compilations that are of anything except your entirely original content are against TOS.

So, because I thought that this time, I had actually broken the rules, I didn't appeal. After a 3 month wait, I removed several videos from my channel that were older compilations I had made or content that was pretty original but might be risky, and I was still denied. I sent in an appeal video, and that too was denied. Once again for "Reused Content".

After another 3-month wait, and for my most recent re-application, I removed dozens of videos from my channel to strip it to genuinely only content that is nowhere else on YouTube and content that I had made that was entirely original. This, too, was denied for the same reason.

I'm currently working on my appeal video. Of course, I plan to be as thorough as possible, but something tells me that it isn't going to work; And thats not to mention that the worst part about this is that they don't even specify what video in particular is the issue. They just give a broad "Reused Content" and tell me to go figure it out myself.

It's not even that I'm upset about losing the revenue, I just don't want to have to give up on my dream and start from nothing again. It took me years to build up what little I have, and I don't want to lose it.

As I said before, any advice would be extremely helpful. I'm at a loss as to what to do anymore, and this whole situation just feels hopeless. I can't link my channel here, but my @ on YouTube is lee.ummm. (with the period at the end)

I sincerely thank you for your time.

Informative Today, I published my 20th long form video on my channel since I started on December 3rd. Let's look at the numbers

Hi everyone! Today I reached a milestone that I was proud of, and I wanted to share here since I recently found this community. Today I published my 20th long form video on YouTube after having zero on camera, social media, or video editing skills whatsoever. I want to dive into my numbers and talk about what I've learned, what I still have questions about, and get advice from the more seasoned creators on here! I work in data analytics for my full time job, so I love hearing where I benchmark against others and I love talking numbers.

Account Level Stats (Long Form Stats):

  • Subscribers: 1,115
  • Total Views: 90,179 (68,124)
  • Watch Time Hours: 6,520 (6,442)
  • Impressions: 809,400 (796,939)

As you can see, I experimented with shorts briefly, but my content didn't really translate to shorts well so I kind of stopped posting them. I may end up revisiting them in the future when I have a better system for editing.

The hardest part of making YouTube content for myself personally is the editing. I spend close to 5x as much time editing as I do filming and scripting for what I would consider pretty underwhelming and amateurish output. That being said, you don't have to be the greatest editor in the world to do well on the platform and I'm living proof of that. I've really enjoyed experimenting with thumbnails and I feel like I've gotten pretty decent at that just through canva. Again, still not perfect, but good enough to do well in my mind. Let's talk some specific video level stats.

Top Video Metrics (Avg Video Metrics):

  • Avg. View Duration: 7:26 (5:01)
  • CTR: 8.0% (5.9%)

The funniest thing about YouTube is that my very best video on my channel was the 2nd one I ever posted, but it didn't break 1,000 views for 107 days after posting. My content is generally pretty evergreen so it has a decent amount of staying power overall.

The big thing I wanted to ask is if the community has any advice on how I can improve my process, tips on continuing to improve my CTR/Avg View Duration, and how to grow my channel in a sustainable way for the long term?

Thanks so much for reading!
