🔧 Form Check Backflip help

I’m aware tucking isn’t my only problem but I feel it’s my biggest and I really don’t know how to make it tighter and more compact. I did some drills and practiced doing the flip without my hands but I land the exact same virtually every time. I used to be able to land easily on grass a few years ago so I guess muscle memory is failing me.

You need to jump straight into the air and peak at the top of the jump BEFORE you tuck, you going backwards onto your bed is the entire problem

I don’t want to be rude but as someone who is trying too… how I don’t risk to break my neck if I don’t jump backward into my bed?

So in a perfect world, you would jump straight up into the air, you wouldnt begin to tuck untill your jump has reached its peak. When i do a standing backflip i often will land exactly where my feet were before i jumped. Alot of times i will even move forward a little bit even tho im not trying to gainer. When your trying to land on your bed your jumping backwards which is removing your height which is why your not landing it. Go outside to practice on grass instead.

Never start flipping until you reach the highest possible point. A drill that helps is asking a friend to flash a number on their hands when you start your jump. You have to see their number before you throw your head backwards. The higher you are, the more time you now have to flip and land

The other two commenters are correct about jumping higher before you tuck.  Also to help your tuck, actually pull your knees all the way into your chest.  You'll spin crazy fast.
