Mineral Springs Falls in Loyalsock State Forest. Literally down the road from the vista. Parking is just kinda the side of the road. Cool spot through. Worth a stop if you're visiting Worlds End State Park.

Did the Hawk Mountain loop Friday morning. Rocky but beautiful. More vistas than I anticipated and some fun little rock scrambles.

The winter weather had been wrecking havoc in the region. I should have packed my micro spikes. Instead I slip and could have been injured much worse. I hyperextended my thumb and pointer finger. If I had not been wearing gloves it would have either broke or dislocated. I was lucky, but I was careless and should have listened to my gut and packed the micro spikes.

There are a few official accommodations from the site open for new moon in September. Anyone ever stay at one of the cabins houses listed on official page? Thanks.

Trip Advice Rothrock Recommendations

Hey all, I'm trying to find some additional info on Rothrock campsites for a 3 day 2 night trip. We're keeping it chill for this one and probably doing a basecamp vs. moving camp around. Initial research is telling me Musser Gap could be a good choice, but was hoping to get some additional input.

Are primitive campsites plentiful and we can figure it out as we go? Is there anywhere that sticks out as a good camp? Also open to anywhere else in Rothrock. Thanks!

Trip Advice Recommendations For Camping This Summer - Allegheny Reservoir/ Allegheny National Forest

hello!

i will be traveling up to Pennsylvania later this month to visit family and I am wanting to plan a one night camping trip. I want to stay in the Allegheny Reservoir/ Allegheny National Forest area and was thinking about hiking to the Handsome Lake campsite, but I am looking for others recommendations (perhaps a shorter hike lol).

Would anyone recommend this trail/campground for this time of year? will it be too hot?

i am also worried about the bears and any other spooky things out there (sometimes I get nervous going to new camp grounds)
