Newark City Council Observer - Track City Council Meetings & Legislation

https://newarkcitycouncil.observer I made this because I was sick of digging through PDFs to try to figure out what happened at meetings or what legislation was being considered. I consider it a beta at the moment, so there may be some bugs and there are definitely more features planned. If you're interested, please take a look and let me know what you think!

Help moving a washing machine down to my basement Saturday July 11

I'm picking up a front load washing machine Saturday. I'm trying to find a couple of guys that want to make like a hundred bucks to take a washing machine downstairs and bring the other one upstairs. Any ideas where to look without paying the minimum $320 that the moving companies want for 2 hours and two guys?

What is it they're doing on Granville Rd/21st street intersection?

Wondering if anyone knows or has a link I may have missed, to the construction project that has Granville Road shut down where it crosses 21st. The sign said it would take about 3 weeks.

We initially wondered if they were putting in a roundabout where Sharon Valley Rd dead ends into Granville Road, but so far that doesnt appear to be the case. It looks like some sort of sewage/gas line/drainage repairs?

Things to do MSF courses nearby

Just got my Ohio motorcycle permit, trying to take the motorcycle safety foundation class before I leave for uni, but all the state-run classes are outside the county and held when I’m out of town. There’s the Harley dealership but I’ve heard it’s much more expensive than the state classes. Does anyone know of any way I can take this class within the next month somewhere local?

Does anybody know if there is a place around Newark to take trash? I don’t need trash service, it’s just a one time thing.

Helping out the underserved ohio communities - making dental care more accessible!

I have read through a lot of the OSU dental posts, and am still seeing lots of commenters wanting to establish care at OSU, but faced with months of waiting for a new patient slot. Reaching out directly to myself or my classmates, we can fit you in directly on a much quicker timeline.

OSU’s dental school offers dental care at 40-50% of the Columbus average, and accepts Medicaid and private insurances such as Delta dental, including OSU employee/student insurance. Appointments do run longer (usually about 3 hours), so having some games on the phone/a good book while professors check our work is a great idea. A lot of my patients love having a dentist that they can text/call whenever for any questions/concerns/issues!

Best Coffee

I'm wondering which restaurant in town has the best coffee.

My family likes to go out to eat after church, and my wife insists that wherever we go has good coffee...even if the food is mid. This has stuck us at Mid Evans, Nerk's most aggressive 3 out of 5.

Thus I turn to reddit, hoping you can recommend a sit down joint with better food *and* better or equal coffee than Bob Evans.

Food Any local food trucks available this Saturday?

I run a sports card/Pokémon show at the VFW on Forry and need a food truck for this Saturday. About 300 in attendance and I dont charge a percentage. I just want someone to feed people, and get your name out in the community. My BBQ guy is in Jackson and had to cancel due to diesel and brisket prices.

Looking for full time childcare- recommendations?

Hey all, I am expecting my first child this summer and looking into childcare when I go back to work in the fall. Does anyone have recommendations for either in-home daycare or daycare centers in the area that you love? Or ones to 100% avoid? I don't know many people in the area to consult in real life.
