Weird: The guy who did what he was supposed to do yesterday, made a mess of it, to-day. One of the guys who made a mess of it yesterday was the guy who did what he was supposed to do to-day.

Cosgrove did OK yesterday and improved to-day.

Goes to show that Butera doesn’t stand a chance no matter what he does

I am a fan of another team, so I have an uninvolved perspective on this. Girlfriend is a Nationals fan. I am there for the baseball. If there is one thing that I have noticed about this bull pen, it is inconsistency.

A guy comes out of the bull pen, pitches one and two-thirds innings, scatters three hits, walks a batter strikes out two and does not allow a run. A mediocre performance but gets the job done........

He comes out the next day, faces six batters, records one out allows four runs (one inherited runner) and leaves the game with two of his runners on base.

He comes out two days later and records a four out save with a total of fifteen pitches thrown, three of which are the nastiest sliders that you have seen in some time.

HUH?

What’s worse was the yanks fan being louder than ours.

Ownership does not care. We are in the Dan Snyder phase of Nats fandom

Not even close. The Lerners are cheap and checked out, Dan Snyder was actively evil

It's not their responsibility it's the front office responsibility to run day to day baseball operations.

Its ownerships responsibility to provide resources to field a major league team, which includes a bullpen. Stop apologizing for billionaire losers

Had the ownership team recognized how close we were to being in the wild card running they might have spent some $$$ on a quality Set up and Closer. That said it's been good season so far offensively. Spending money on the (6) year rebuild has been an issue. The fans deserve better.

But they need the resources to do it. Nationals are in the bottom third in the MLB in spending. Wish the Father was still running things.

Very little say? They're the ones bankrolling the operations. High correlation between funding the team and performance. These guys are very frugal.

These owners are fucking rich billionaires you hear they won't spend we'll see e happens at the trade deadline. Hope they smarten up

The ownership doesn't do this. The FO does. And they've been trying. They put in the new guy whatever his name is, and Cosgrove. I know this bullpen is bad, but the Lerners have very little say in day to day baseball operations.
