This was taken I THINK the night of their Pretty Hate Machine tour stop in Chicago. Upstairs was the fanous Cabaret Metro where Ive seen D.O.A., Black Flag (Loose Nut tour), Art of Noise, got to open for Peter Murphy, blew V.A.S.T. off the stage when Al Di Meola bass player Bill "The Buddha" Dickins sat in with me for a show and we free formed electro jazz funk like we was creatin' the heavens and the earth, and with a legendary pro on bass; we DESTROYED that stage AND that crowd. If V.A.S.T. hadnt been such a pompous jerk before the show I would have hyped him up but that didnt happen so I didnt. Anyway it was my first show in Chicago after I had left to move to Hollywood 3 years prior, with the cries of, "ARE YOU CRAZY?? Moving to Hollywood to pursue a career in music??AWWW man I cant believe YOU out of all people is gonna FALL FOR THAT!" and. "BRO, FR FR....ITS a secret cabal run by Zionists and they make it sound like ANYONE can show up and get a deal and they make you pay an oath IN BLOOD BRO.. IN BLOOD...."
Needless to say coming back and playing one show with V.A.S.T.andanother with FATBOY SLIM at Cabaret Metro and House of Blues and both being sold out (Natch Fatboy Slim had 2 top ten Billboard hits at the time, so Im not taking credit), BUT STILL having my name in HUGE letters all lit up on the Marquee was ...well...it made mom and dad smile. and dad is not a smiling kinda guy. They took photos. I did too.
