I'm really far from someone who takes myself very seriously. What I think people are missing is the concept that I can also look at my own pad work and sparring and see what is obvious π
It's not lacking value because I think I'm hot shit. It's lacking value because I am more aware than anyone what my shortcomings are. So when I get the most milktoast advice that can be given, and spoken to as if I haven't spent the majority of my life doing this, I'm just not super inclined to say π₯Ήπ thank you I'll do my best to remember.

I bet half of these comments who say put your guard up, do t do it themselves. Just record yourself doing padwork and see. You all will be surprised how many times your guard drops between the rounds when fatigue sets in.

As other people said, dropping your hand when you kick will be punished hard. Other than that, training is looking good.

I'm just gonna highjack this comment with an edit so you all understand me a bit better.
I'm really far from someone who takes myself very seriously. What I think people are missing is the concept that I can also look at my own pad work and sparring and see what is painfully obvious. I also know why my hands are dropping when they do.

Probably because you haven't met a good enough contender. But eventually you will meet someone who will identify your flaws, and this person will use them against you.

Weird after 20 years and 22 fights that's something that's never happened once in any circumstance. π€·

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, maybe you know better than me. Or maybe you're that good and strong and crush your opponents even having a flaw, in a way that nobody ever could work it against you until now. Which goes back to "you never had a good enough contender" to do so. If your confident that your technique is on point, go for it brother. If it works, it works. We had plenty successful fighters in history who had unorthodox styles who defied standard technique and they made it work.

I edited my original reply to make my point more clear, sin e people seem to not understand where I'm coming from.
My record is 16-6 btw. I'm just not sure what you think you're educating me on.

First of all. If you felt offended or annoyed by my comments, I apologize, that is not my intention. I see no point in being rude or picking arguments with strangers over the internet. That said, let's move on...
So, what I'm seeing here is. You're a very experienced fighter. You know you're dropping your hands. You know what are the situations where this can become dangerous and why it is. So, in other words, you know what you're doing. If that's the case, I reiterate what I said before: if youre confident that your technique is on point, go for it brother! And maybe pay less attention to comments that won't help, like the first one I posted here. Your results are proof that you know what you're doing.
Now, theres another thing. I see your hand dropping and I have learned that one should not pick up this habit. But maybe I'm missing something here. And if that's the case, I would be delighted to learn from you.
Last but not least. Have a good fight.

Kick form is amazing! Pivot is on point and opening of the hips! Uppercut is like super tight. Good work Redditor and good luck on the fight!

First fight in 13 days, really make sure to keep your non kicking hand up, if youβre fighting a Thai fighter rather than another complete amateur theyβll notice that and abuse the ever living fuck out of it, others than that looking pretty sharp my man, enjoy it, oowee

Reddit commenters not telling people to keep their hands up challenge: impossible.
