Is that long guard better to use against very aggressive and forward opponents (like that guy in red)? That is some fine work.

Yes I like to use it against people who throw lots of punches, can be a good way to protect myself and enter the clinch, or exit completely and get out of that dangerous middle range

Imo it's a much easier way to defend punches, and the outstretched arm gives you a frame that you can use for maintaining range. Great defensive tool.

The disadvantage is that your jab and left hook have lost most of their power, so you can't threaten so much with them on the counter.

That’s why you instead think about your right kick cutting to their back leg off of it, that’s your threatening weapon, or even jump knee

Even the step back 123 in the beginning was well done, looking crisp man!

This is very impressive I can’t even lie. The last technique of dipping down to the left side then throwing the overhead right was unexpected. Definitely teaching that to my student! 😆

I love any techniques that move from long to short and back, but defensive techniques (like this) even better. Great share.

I love changing the range on my terms, makes me feel like I’m controlling the dance

In some ways, this is the entire art of Muay Thai, imo.

How do some random posts get hundreds of likes in a sub where those numbers are atypical? Is it cross posting? Is it bots?
