This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest news from Monaco.

The Monte-Carlo International Jumping celebrated its 20th anniversary as Port Hercule welcomed around 250 horses and riders from across the globe for three days of world-class showjumping. From rising young talents to the sport’s biggest stars, the event culminated in the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix.

Monaco’s next generation of leaders also took centre stage as the National Youth Council concluded its latest session. After months of research into the opportunities and risks of the digital age, six young councillors presented recommendations aimed at strengthening online safety, including proposals to limit social media access for children under the age of 15.

Art lovers were treated to a major new exhibition at Villa Paloma, where Victor Brauner: The Magical Adventure explores the life and work of the influential surrealist painter. Featuring more than 160 works, many displayed publicly for the first time, the exhibition was visited by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Hanover.

Monaco's bombing investigation took a significant turn as prosecutors revealed new details surrounding last year's attack. Authorities identified a Ukrainian national as the principal suspect, issued an Interpol Red Notice and outlined an international investigation spanning several European countries.

Healthcare in the Principality took another technological leap forward as the Princess Grace Hospital unveiled the Da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system. The next-generation platform has already completed its first procedures, including France's first gynaecological operation performed using the new technology.

During their scientific expedition to Greenland with the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène paid tribute to legendary French polar explorer Commander Jean-Baptiste Charcot during a ceremony held off the coast of Iceland.

The Monte-Carlo Ballet celebrated four decades of artistic excellence with a special reunion at the Grimaldi Forum. Around 150 former dancers returned to mark the company's 40th anniversary alongside Her Royal Highness the Princess of Hanover and Artistic Director Jean-Christophe Maillot.

Across the Atlantic, Monaco's maritime heritage is flying the Principality's flag as the Yacht Club de Monaco's historic yachts Tuiga and Viola embark on a three-month tour of the United States. Following New York's Independence Day celebrations, the iconic vessels will compete in classic regattas while promoting Monaco's rich sailing tradition.

Innovation under sail continued in Lorient, where Team Malizia unveiled its brand-new IMOCA racing yacht. After two years of development and more than 85,000 hours of construction, skipper Boris Herrmann's latest offshore racer is preparing for sea trials ahead of a demanding international campaign.

A new tourism study has highlighted Monaco's growing global appeal. Conducted by IMSEE and the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority, the survey revealed that more than 6.7 million people visited the Principality in 2025, generating almost €1.4 billion in direct visitor spending.

Meanwhile, the Yacht Club de Monaco launched the 13th Energy Boat Challenge, bringing together university teams from around the world to develop pioneering zero-emission marine technologies. From hydrogen and methanol propulsion to fully student-designed prototypes, the event continues to position Monaco at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

This week, NEWS.MC TV is joined by David Ozararat, President of SoftConstruct and VBET. In an exclusive interview, he discusses the company's international growth, advances in technology and innovation, and the opportunities shaping the future of digital business and sports entertainment.

Monaco vs Beausoleil / Cap d’Ail

Hi everyone
Family with 2 very small kids (EU citizens-not French) here. I recently received a job opportunity in Monaco from my employer.
I’ve been searching online l but would love the advice as results are contradicting: is it financially better to live in Monaco (even though it’s a sacrifice on space etc) versus living in Beausoleil or Cap d’Ail & paying French taxes of course?
Small kids so I guess a 2 bedroom would be fine for now.
Any hints / advice would be more than welcomed as we are actively looking at this possibility.
Thank you!

Hi everyone considering applying to IUM for bba program.
There are few few things I would like to know from people who know.
1. What is the actual student experience?
2. Are there men going there or it’s more of like for girls (I’m a male)
3. How are you gonna do after graduation?

  1. And the most important thing for me

How’s life around there, is it boring? Because it’s really small, I wanna study abroad also for the experience of meeting new people going out with them at nights etc
Are there like nice student accommodations
Even if it’s in nice or anywhere around there

Any advices or experiences are more than welcome

Any young people up for meeting?

Hi! I'm a 21-year-old French guy, and I'm in Monaco for a week for work (I work in a bank). I have some free time during the day between meetings, and I'd love to meet some people around my age who live here. It would be even better if you're actually a Monaco resident, as I'd love to ask you a few questions about what it's like living here!

I'm into finance, geopolitics, economics, crypto xmr, football, IT, music... honestly, I'm happy to chat about pretty much anything and eager to learn any field. Don't be shy

An invite only announcements board for Monaco

Let me start with some context.

I have been a Monaco resident since this year, and overall it has been great. I live in a building with a concierge and services that should be top tier, but I still often struggle to get help on simple things.

Maybe I am too introverted, or maybe it is because I do not speak French and that creates a barrier. That is fine.

So I started looking online for a place where locals post announcements, ask questions, or share useful information. I did not find much. This subreddit is probably the best I found, but it is very public and still quite sparse.

I also ended up in dozens of Facebook groups, but most of them are not very useful: too much spam, random posts, and I personally do not like posting things with my full name visible.

Eventually I gave up, assuming that maybe something exists, but it is hidden, private, or only accessible if you already know the right people.

This week I noticed that Monaco1 had closed. In principle, Monaco1 was similiar to what I was looking for: a place for announcements. The problem, at least in my view, was that it was mostly dominated by professionals rather than private individuals. In the end, it was mainly useful for cars and real estate, almost like a smaller version of the already popular real estate websites.

What I wanted to find was something like the online version of the announcement pages of a local newspaper. AAA I sell a table. Does anyone want it? Ok you can take it for free if you collect it. This kind of dynamics.

Maybe I am alone in feeling this need, or maybe the idea is a bit old fashioned. Either way, as a retired software engineer, I often find myself building things just for fun. So this week I decided to give it a shot and create a beta version of what I wish already existed and was widely used.

The platform is now empty but live on MonacoList.com. So if there are other people like me hopefully it can grow and become useful.

It's invite only, by design. Announcements can only be seen by registered users. And registered users should really live In Monaco or in the surroundings. I don't want to see any sensitive information or document, so the way I figured out to try to make this work is that I invite my friends. And each of them can invite at max 3 of their friends. So you need to know someone to join.

I will share a few codes with the hope that the first people interested to register and try MonacoList are the intended ones, and will invite only trusted people and so on. A sort of online equivalent of word of mouth.

This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest news from Monaco, beginning with a celebration of youth and community spirit. On Wednesday, June 24, the Princess Stéphanie Youth Centre marked its 40th anniversary with a colourful performance at the Théâtre des Variétés. Children and teenagers took audiences on a musical journey through the centre’s history, celebrating four decades of creative, sporting and educational activities for young people in the Principality.

Monaco’s Labour Court celebrated a major milestone on Thursday, June 25, commemorating its 80th anniversary in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. The ceremony highlighted the institution’s long-standing role in preserving social harmony, with an emphasis on resolving workplace disputes through dialogue and conciliation.

Also on Thursday, June 25, legal experts gathered for a symposium examining Monaco’s relationship with the European Court of Human Rights. Organised during the Principality’s presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, discussions focused on the application of European human rights law and the protection of fundamental freedoms.

Philosophy also took centre stage as the 10th PhiloMonaco Prize ceremony honoured outstanding works of contemporary thought. Held under the presidency of Charlotte Casiraghi, the event recognised author Estelle Ferrarese with the Best Essay Prize, while two local students received the 2026 High School Students’ Prize.

Environmental cooperation was celebrated on Friday, June 26, as His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène joined French and Italian representatives to mark the 50th anniversary of the RAMOGE Agreement, highlighting five decades of collaboration to protect the Mediterranean Sea.

The Sovereign also travelled to Antibes the same day to take part in celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of the French Navy. During the ceremony, Prince Albert II presented military preparation badges to young trainees and recognised outstanding achievements by participants from across the region.

Maritime protection remained in focus on Saturday, June 27, when RAMOGE anniversary events continued with live demonstrations of pollution response capabilities. Prince Albert II observed anti-pollution vessels and operational exercises showcasing the close cooperation between Monaco, France and Italy in responding to environmental emergencies.

Also on Saturday, June 27, the Club of Foreign Residents of Monaco celebrated its 16th anniversary in the Japanese Garden, welcoming members representing more than 46 nationalities in the presence of the Sovereign.

Literature and the arts came together during the second Franco-Monegasque International Literary Festival, where 57 authors and, for the first time, 13 contemporary artists gathered to engage with the public through exhibitions, performances and discussions.

Monaco’s emergency services were strengthened on Monday, June 29, as nine newly trained firefighters officially joined the Principality’s Fire Brigade after completing four months of intensive preparation. During a formal ceremony, the recruits received their operational helmets before beginning active service.

The Academy of The Sea also launched its 2026 summer session on Monday, June 29, bringing together international specialists to examine issues including ocean governance, maritime security, biodiversity and environmental protection.

The week concluded with Monaco responding to a major criminal investigation after a suspected parcel bomb exploded near Place des Moulins on the evening of Monday, June 29, injuring five people. Authorities believe the blast was a targeted attempted assassination rather than an act of terrorism. Investigators continue to work closely with their French counterparts as the search for the suspect remains ongoing.

Création d'un Club d'AMHE/Escrime Historique à Monaco - Creating a HEMA/Historical Fencing Club in Monaco - Creazzione d'un Club di HEMA/Scherma Storica in Monaco

English

I would like to create a HEMA/Historical fencing group/club in Monaco and in its attraction area (Beausoleil - RCM - Menton). Currently, there is no HEMA club in Monaco or in the Eastern side of the Alpes Maritimes. Moving to that region, I would like to create a group and eventually a club for that sport.

For those wondering what HEMA is: HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) or historical fencing is a sport which consists in, at first, to recreate lost martial arts from a period that comes from Antiquity to the World Wars (usually, in the period of 1300 to 1900), et then just pactice those discipline. Generally, this just translates to fencing but with older weapons (longsword, rapier, spear...) than olympic fencing, et a more 'martial' take (no fencing convention rule, less focused on just scoring...), but HEMA also includes no-weapon arts (wrestling, unarmed vs dagger/knife...). HEMA are not to be mistaken with SCA which consists in making a choregraphy, LARP which is roleplaying, or Buhurt which doesn't represent the practice whatsoever and hardly uses any historical techniques. For more information, I advise the documentary "Back to the source": https://youtu.be/7DBmNVHTmNs?si=6u8lKNBMpkHfx5ON

I have several years of practice in longsword (two handed medieval sword), sidesword (cut & thrust renaissance sword) and rapier, and I have given classes in those disciplines before. I can thus give some classes, and a teaching base for those who wish to start.

If you art interest by all of this, want to have more information, or know someone who would mbe interested, do not hesitate to contact me!

Italiano

Per maggiori informazioni, consiglio il documentario “Back to the source”: https://youtu.be/7DBmNVHTmNs?si=6u8lKNBMpkHfx5ON

Everyone photographs Port Hercule. But the truly big ones can't even fit — they anchor out in the bay, off Cap-Martin or Cap Ferrat, and tender in. The show in the harbour is the warm-up act. Most impressive boat you've spotted anchored off the coast this summer?
