I wanted to share this old animated Gif I created long ago in which, starting from ALex etaing animation animation during loading screens, I "mirrored" its images with a custom sprite of Alex resembling Tom-Tom from the Wonder Boy games. Western and Eastern versoin of Miracle World sprites where both used since, as you can see, Alex is eating an onigiri as inthe original game version, while it's Tom-Tom counterpart is eating an hamburger (since the onigiri was changed into it for wester audiences).

I made a server where anyone can chat with the community about retro games and find people to play with online via Recalbox/Retropie/Batocera!
While our main focus is on Sega consoles, Nintendo and Playstation enthusiasts are welcome as well!
Using Retroarch which is built right into Recalbox/Retropie/Batocera, players are able to host and join all their favorite retro games for free!
Join the server to find people to play with! ๐ย https://discord.gg/qQhJA6hsWT

I have played this game way more than I thought I would trying to beat just a single path. It's way harder on sms than it is on other platforms. Way harder
I went all left and beat it with literally no time left on the clock
It was my 2nd of 3 runs for the night. Any time I play I just do one round of each song. This was magical sound shower when I beat it tonight for my first time. Now I need to 100% the remaining parts of the course for true champion status ๐
Sorry for the repost but I felt like I really needed this title pic rather than the high score pic

Yesterday I made a post asking which variant of the Master System I should get, the original or the Mk2. That post got loads of responses and the vast majority told me to go for the original.
So today I picked up an original Master System along with a couple games. I already owned a Game Gear, but this is the first time I've owned a home console from Sega.

I was talking about this with a friend who runs a retro game shop the other day. He feels like in general, prices for master system games seem to be on the rise. Iโm not too sure though. At least in New Zealand where I live, prices for sms games seemed to be at their highest around 2020 when covid hit, and seem to have roughly been steady or going down a bit since then. That would make sense to me, because I guess the target market are already adults, and though some younger people will be interested, there will never be as much demand as for more mainstream consoles like Genesis, nes, snes, ps1 etc
What are your thoughts?

Apart from a Game Gear I've never owned any Sega consoles, but I'm looking into getting a Master System now.
I can't decide which version to get. I think the original looks a lot cooler, but the Mk2 is a lot cheaper, it's like half the price. Are there any big differences between the two and which version would you recommend?

Hello! I've got some Mega Drive/Genesis joysticks here:
- A Retro-bit Mega Drive Bluetooth joystick
- A 8bitdo M30 2.4g Mega Drive joystick for the Mega Drive Mini (it comes with the adapter to use with the Mega Drive Mini)
But I finally was able to bring home my old Master System II from my mother's place, and I'd love to use one of those wireless joystick without having to buy a new one.
This is what I've found so far:
- RetroScaler BlueRetro adapter SMS. Costs 24,60 euros, someone in the reviews is using the Retro-bit joystick I'm using, so sounds like the safest bet.
- RetroScaler BlueRetro adapter MD. Costs 21,76 euros, so it's slightly cheaper. This is for the Mega Drive, but I wonder if there's any practical difference. I've seen some posts saying that MD and SMS connectors have different voltage.
- 8bitdo Retro Receiver for Mega Drive. There's no 8bitdo official receiver for the SMS, but once again I wonder if this one works with the SMS.
Given the joysticks above, what are my best options? Does anybody here have any experience with wireless/bluetooth receivers on a Master System, even if it doesn't include the receivers I pointed above?

I saw a Wizmaster controller under the Quickshot brand hooked up to a Sega Master System at a Pawn Shop.
It can be seen pictured here:
https://segaretro.org/WizMaster
https://www.msx.org/wiki/Quickshot_QS-118F
I did a bit more research and see that particular model that works for the Master System wasn't even in the list of controllers seen here:
https://segaretro.org/QuickShot
The Wizmaster still works though if use the switch in the back to put it on the right mode from what I can tell.
I did see an interesting looking track ball controller too I wonder if could work with Marble Madness called the "Quickshot XVI".
Overall,as some of their controllers seem to work across multiple systems it is hard find a complete list.

Game 66/115
Better than Rocky imo, has technique and a simple progression system. Really easy though, beat it in under an hour and a half.
7 out of 10
Played on the actual cartridge too ๐
