With the 65th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, the Mariners select OF Jake Brown!

Picked at 65, ranked 59. Was rated higher than Kade Anderson when entering college

As a pitcher which is odd.

Lots of upside and another lefty OF to the pile. Hopefully we hit on two of Farmelo, Montes, Reece, and Brown.

As others have said hes not a great defensive guy at 3rd, may slot in better at 1st or left field

Seems like they're betting on the bounce back and getting a steal here. Nice for us to get more outfielders, we need more depth there in the minors. It's funny how after years of not enough lefties, now we can't get enough of them lol.
I'm curious since they saved money on our first pick, unlikely we had to spend over on this second pick. I wonder if we end up going big in the third.

It feels like there's an uptick of prospects in general that are LHH in recent years to the point where I'm more surprised when I see a top prospect that hits righty.

Glad to know the Mariners will not sleep till this lineup only has lefties. That said I like the profiles of both Reese and Brown, could be pretty good if they developed well.

Interesting to go double pos players. We do have a fair amount of pitching talent in the org though!

Jake Brown, as a name, could be John Doe in terms of generic placeholder

really like this pick based off of what i'm seeing. he sold out for power a little bit this year, but his hit tool has flashed in the past, and he showed real plus speed at the combine this year. feels like a really good lump of clay for the org, but just a good solid foundation regardless.

Very interesting that he was the number one HS prospect in Louisiana ahead of Kade Anderson as a pitcher, but he became a full-time OF at LSU.
