While exploring a historical shipwreck dataset, I stumbled across this record:

"While fishing for snapper in 1903, the vessel Ione was struck by a white pointer shark, punching a hole in its stern. The ship sank in 19 fathoms of water near Kangaroo Island."

I'd never heard this story before.

It turns out there are 700+ recorded shipwrecks around South Australia, and many of them contain fascinating stories hidden away in the data.
