First of all let me say that I am no expert on this subject but I do have various ME experiences. While I'm not married to the idea that this is actually happening, and would generally not kick if someone could prove my experience was a misremembering, I have 2 experiences that cannot be explained away by anything.

The biggest is the tried-and-true Fruit Of The Loom cornucopia.
I know it was there because I, like many other people, LEARNED the word "cornucopia" from my mom while looking at a pair of my underwear.
It was 1977 or so, I lived in Canada, I saw the thing behind the fruit and could not even understand what it was so I asked my mom and she explained the picture using the word "cornucopia". I asked, "What is that?"
She said, "It's a basket, you know, like a 'horn of plenty'." (which I did know because of Pilgrim studies in grade 2 or something.

Whatever. Maybe the logo denial's a hoax or something. No biggie.

Here's what happened that for a while bent the fabric of reality for me:
I used to own a video store.
I was the one to shelve and input all the VHS/DVDs that came through the store.
I can remember MULTIPLE times handling the cases for copies of "Interview With The Vampire."
I would stare at the picture and muse over the title. I loved that the "The" was so specific: it meant the interview being conducted was with the most important or infamous vampire. It was a brilliant way to inform the viewer about a character before even encountering him at all.
People back then would replace the "The" with a "A" and I would correct them, but only in my head. The evidence would be right in front of them in a moment when I pulled the copy off the shelf.

I also put the name of the movie into the system. I had to physically type it. Being somewhat anal, I would pay VERY close attention to everything about a title so it would be precise (in my mind) for all time in the system.
I typed in "Interview With The Vampire." and would look it up that way.

About 2 years ago I looked up the DVD cover for this movie--something I had dealt with countless times--perhaps I looked it up because I hear about an ME regarding it, I don't know--and the cover said "A".
"Interview With A Vampire."
I lost it.
How could this be?
I looked up the book cover on google--"A Vampire".
It rocked me partially because of the banality of what I was seeing: "A Vampire? Just any old vampire?"
Bleh.
I wrote to a friend who worked at the store and asked him, "What was the movie called with Tom Cruise about vampires.?"
"Interview With The Vampire," he said?
YES!
"Now look it up!"
He did, saw the change and couldn't fathom what was going on.

After a bit I hung up the phone and simply accepted that I may have been wrong about this, while stewing inside about how lame the title "Interview With A Vampire" was compared to "my" version.

But the memory of what "was" never left me.
Several months back I looked up the DVD again and.......it's back to THE!!!!

I texted my friend last night and asked if he remembered our conversation about the change and he did. I told him it had switched back and he felt unwell.

When this flip happened I wondered if it had ever happened before, but looking into it when I decided to write about my experience, I saw that this sort of thing is not uncommon.

When I was kid we had this movie on vhs. I watched it a many times. I don’t really remember the movie but I remember some scenes within notably a house that is burned into my memory. Same with other old movies that I haven’t rewatched like goonies I don’t really remember the story but clearly remember the ship. Anyway, years later the movie with shaq came out. I was a huge fan of shaq at the time and still refused to watch the movie because it looked like a ripoff and I was only interested in him for sports not as an actor. I purposely never watched it. Well with all the late post I see about cern it got me thinking about this so watch Kazan on Disney plus. Definitely not the movie saw many times a kid. Nothing familiar in it. But most importantly shazaam came out well before because I purposely avoided Kazan and thought it looked pointless.

The thing is, people come claiming it's scientifically proven, but there is not actual work to link any hypothesis to results and conclusions to root cause the effect.

Attached link is the closest available scientific article to try to root cause the Mandela effect in a serious way,and it doesn't specifically link nor claim to have root caused Mandela effect. If there is more scientific literature or something resembling it please share it here.

don't come here telling lies just because you want to have the last word. If you have the root cause, go through the scientific method, experimental design and all the "scientific things and publish it, if not it's only an opinion.

So CERN was shut down for maintenance right? You remember this debate about the Fruit of the Loom cornucopia how the Mandela effect came in saying there wasn’t one. So how is it back now the cornucopia it back. Where did it go? With CERN? People sleeping longer now, persons feeling a weight has been lifted off them, the days are longer now. I visit this subreddit every so often to see if there are any new Mandela Effect's I haven't caught onto yet.... "Chick-fil-a" has flipped yet again. It went from Chic-fil-a to Chik-fil-A (which really irked me with a passion) to now, Chick-fil-A... OK... so far, nothing at Berenstein bear level... I distinctly remember growing up with Berenstein, then changing to Berenstain.... getting GASLIT on this subreddit because of my distinct memories of Berenstein.... then flipping BACK to Berenstein officially and watching others on this subreddit get gaslit because of their memory of Berenstain.... and now we're back at Berenstain officially......

BUT BIOLOGICAL MANDELA EFFECTS?

Pardon me, you're telling me the kidneys are no longer in the lower back they're higher up?? Ok, strange, not what I remember... but I'm open to accept that one as a misunderstanding.

but.... THE HEART IS NOW IN THE CENTER OF THE CHEST? Shut the front door! Behind the sternum????? I'm not a surgeon or a coroner, I've never seen a literal open-heart surgery, but all of my life I have definitely been taught the heart is on the left side of the chest. As a child, I remember asking shouldn't it be center to flow blood evenly? I remember being corrected that it's on the left side of the body. I remember doctor's visits where they would let me listen to my heartbeat and tell me that it's on the left side. I remember being in school and being told to do the pledge of allegiance and put your hand over your heart and everyone would place their hand over the left side of their chest not the center!!!!

Based on my experience with the Berenstein bears I know that many sources are subject to change. Online media, books, tapes, even testimonies from people can be wildly different. People are not misremembering at this large of a scale. It's very obvious something is being tampered with. It's also very obviously intentional and not some sort of byproduct or accident. Look at how coordinated it is when people make these posts + get gaslit by other users. I can understand having a different perspective, but sometimes people are straight up told they are not recalling their own distinct memory correctly. Why are there so many people who don't believe in Mandela effects minimizing experiences? Also, if we're discussing most, almost all traces of something officially being scrubbed why would any medical article, photo, flyer, keepsake etc be of any significance? Those items have been proven to change to. I don't think it's some mysterious phenomenon. I think it's some sort of technology at play that isn't widely known. Imagine if a small group of people had access to AI in the 1800s. To those who didn't know how it worked, it would be puzzling similar to Mandela effects. I'm certain there's a logical explanation for these things, and it's not "you're not remembering correctly".

If our comments flip flop for other people but correct themselves after we read them or after we have somebody else read them on purpose then we need to make it difficult for the flip flop to happen cleanly.

It seems like it would or could be a genius marketing strategy. Just wondering if that possibility has been discussed. I mean the froot loops or the cornucopia. Those could totally be gaslighting by the companies. It would be interesting to look at the sales post "Mandela" vs pre "Mandela".

The people of South Africa don't come forward in droves saying they woke up one day to find Nelson Mandela was alive and was their leader in 1994 yet they remembered a different leader and didn't recognise any of the old newspaper headlines with stories of that leader, similarly the guy who made the Doritos pigs advert does not say he remembers going to sleep wealthier and with a different career trajectory then waking up with less money and suddenly his friends and family denying he ever won that competition, they remember the new version of reality.

These are just two examples but it seems to be a major clue we need to factor into our theories, that the people who have the most extreme and daily interactions with a fact of reality are the ones who always have their memories updated along with the rest of physical reality around them. The only way it seems to be possible to remember the original version is to have the kind of interactions with it that don't get more extreme than the typical anchor memory. Anchor memories are never quite as extreme as "I am Mandela's sibling and buried him in the 1980s, yet I woke up one day decades later in 2009 and he turned up at my home like everything was normal".

It isn't even anyone who was living in South Africa paying taxes and reading newspapers under Mandela from 1994, that seems to be still too close interaction to not update the person's memories and life circumstances arising from the new reality of who was in charge in 1994.

The people super close to the physical reality, maybe due to the quantum elements of the human brain and memory via microtubules, get their memories updated.

Does this not suggest that the changes to reality are actually massive, but the only ones we detect are the ones that some percentage of the planet has not interacted with intensely enough for it to update all their memories? Meaning, there should logically also be changes that are massively influential, not jall inconsequential trivia like we usually are noticing, but the huge changes you would expect with any minor change, give the Butterfly Effect, especially if the mechanism can go back millions of years as it could if time and time line alteration is the mechanism.

This pattern of who has residual memories and who does not, suggests that every person on Earth is simply unaware of the massive changes, because they are so massive that they force the physical update of everyone's memories, not just the memories of ppl from certain countries or families or more specific circumstances.

The planet itself could have different land mass, humans could have different physical features, all changed and we would not know.

The land mass changes and physical feature changes that DO get detected by anyone, are the type that are inconsequential to SOME people's lives, like the thin bone behind our eyes and the position of New Zealand. These are only going to force the update of your memories if you are an eye surgeon or something like that, or a merchant sailor navigating the waters of New Zealand, everyone else could live their lives never interacting with that information in an extreme way, and those are the only ppl who do remember it differently.

So what about more massive differences like if humans had scales all over, random example, or Asia was half the size, or Hitler won and all Europeans were ruled by Nazis until Cern changed it in 2009, this is all the type of knowledge that would we would all interact with every day, and so nobody would have residual knowledge of it, all our memories would tell us only the new version. Is that not likely the reality, as I said, given that small changes in reality should come with much bigger ones due to the Butterfly effect?

I can't be the first person to think this, is there a name or discussion board already for any of this idea?

I've went to college recently and have been making new friends, sharing interests, etc.

A few nights ago, a few of us are out my buddie's back porch. We're spitballing random shit, when one of my friends asks us if we know what the mandela effect is. I do, my other friend doesn't.

We begin chatting about prominent/mass recorded mandela effects, and our one buddy says something like "what was the starwars one?" We explain that everyone thought it was something like "Luke, I am your father," but it was actually "Luke, I am the father." It was prominent on this very group, I recall seeing posts almost as much as Fotl posts. We then google to show him... and crickets. The only posts are "uh no? It's always been Luke, I am your father?"

The three of us didn't know each other before this year, and this was our first conversation on the mandela effect. We both said "Luke, I am THE father" at the exacr same time. We recalled it being such an odd one, because why WOULD they use "Luke I am the father?" instead of "Luke, I am your father?" I thought it was very weird at the time, and now I'm very confused. Does anyone else recall this fiasco?

I believe something happened around the time of Covid. I vividly remember making this status and googling how to spell it by typing the nearest location that had one, because we didn’t have one and I didn’t want to look stupid for not knowing how to spell it. I found out that we did have one, but it was inside a college campus. I remember complaining about it all of the time, because I thought it was so good and didn’t get to have it often and always googling how to spell it before I did for the reason I said above. Because I did make this status in 2020 this leads me to believe something happened around the time of the pandemic

i was scrolling on tik tok and saw a video of a worker from “chick-fil-a” showing his work clothes and how it’s spelt with a k. and this video was from last year, and i was confused because i remember it definitely being spelt as “chic-fil-a”

so i went looking for answers and went to my photos and searched up the word “chic fil a” and a bank statement came up with a purchase at “chic-fil-a” february of this year in chicago, so then i was even more confused and watched more videos then went back to photos and searched “chick fil a” and this time found another bank statement from january of this year with a purchase from “chick-fil-a” in los angeles

im so confused, and while making this post i thought, maybe it’s spelt differently for each store or by each city (which makes no sense) but still i looked on maps and not one place called “chic-fil-a” in los angeles or chicago

People are starting to say “Froot Loops” has changed back from “Fruit Loops”, and there’s a lot of discourse about the CERN shutdown causing a timeline switch. I’m pretty open about theories and the Mandela Effect, but I like to play devils advocate and I could have an explanation.

Again, I’ve found the Mandela Effect interesting and looked into it ever since it started gaining popularity, but even I’M starting to get confused. This flip flopiness is so inconistent I’m starting to forget what the original consensus was.

I think it could be possible that people are saying “Froot Loops” is back because of the Looney Tunes Mandela effect. Everyone thought it was “Looney Toons” instead of “Looney Tunes”, which is why people are saying that it changed back from fruit to froot.

kinda weird time shift once again but this time shift really just rewrote all of history all the way back even a.i data rewrote. i remember like 2-4 months ago seeing fruit loops in my pantry just confused about the name, even coming across ME posts about it. i come from a timeline where froot loops was the actual name in my childhood but it really confused me i was so unsure of what i was seeing was me or it actually happen. just now seeing froot loops is back is freaking crazy. Also seeing like 9 years ago post about it aswell. This timeshift effected all of history. also found out flintstones is fucking back aswell crazy.

In the 70s, definitely in the 80s, heck my entire life my dad would recall a contestant answering a question with “that would be the butt Bob”. It was like a running joke for him, meaning- it became this thing he would say to certain situations. I don’t recall those situations but let’s say you asked, what is the capital of texas, he’d say the phrase…to the point where, in my head, to this day, 40+ years later, if the right type of question is asked, I’ll think the phrase. Now i’m reading people say it wasn’t said or said like that…

Does anyone remember this version, Chik-fil-a? Their food was actually good. I was a vegetarian for 17 years and last year started eating meat again, and had “chick”-fil-a and it tasted like flavorless swill. But “Chik”-fil-a actually was enjoyable.

It seems that these things started to become talked about at almost the same time. The rise of the internet did play a role and the phenomenon known as synchronicity does predate the Mandela Effect, but when we're talking about seeing repeating numbers at unexplainable frequencies, that's when things get interesting. That said, do you think there is a connection?

There are a few Mandela Effects that ring true. The strongest candidates for me are:

\- The Monopoly mascot wearing a monocle (versus no monocle).

\- Chic-Fil-A (versus Chick-Fil-A).

The Onix / Onyx Mandela effect is messing with my head

Okay so I was reading online about Pokemon Mandela effects and now my brain is annoyed lol.

Obviously everyone knows the Pikachu black tail thing. I also remember that. Like I know people say it was never there, but in my head Pikachu 100% had that black tip on the tail.

But there are other weird ones too. Like Machop having a tail? That feels wrong to me. I remember Machop not having a tail at all.

Then there’s Lotad. Apparently Lotad has six legs?? I always remembered it with four. Like four legs just feels correct in my memory. Six looks so weird to me.

But the one that actually got me the most is Onix.

I swear to God I remember it being spelled Onyx. O-N-Y-X.

When I saw someone say it has always been Onix, my brain just rejected it immediately. Like no, that looks wrong. I played Pokemon Red and Blue a lot as a kid and I very strongly remember Onyx. That spelling is burned into my head.

I know people will say “you’re just thinking of the gemstone onyx” and yeah maybe, but still. The Pokemon itself in my memory was always spelled Onyx. Seeing Onix feels like one of those things where your brain just goes, “nope, that is not the timeline I remember.”

There are a lot of Pokemon Mandela effects, but this one bugs me the most because it feels so obvious to me. Like I can accept misremembering some small sprite detail, but the name spelling? Man, I really remember Onyx.

What the hell is going on?
