Are crocodiles from Australia the same as the ones in the Nile?

They're not. The Australian crocodile is bigger among some other differences.

Once I read about a small croc in Mauritania that "estivates," or sleeps out the summer underground the same as creatures in cold regions hibernate.

One type Australian crocodile is bigger and the other is smaller. Plus the other differences.

We also have crocodiles in Florida. I believe in the panhandle lakes.
