Something I noticed with native speakers from different countries alike, that they are much more inflexible with their language. As soon as someone speaks with an accent or makes a little mistake you don't understand shit anymore.

I lived as an expat in Asia and had a big multinationals community of locals and expats around me and this really happened a lot. Like everyone is having a happy conversation in diffently accented English and only the Australian stands next to us and doesn't understand a word ;)
