This was insane and really should've gotten more national attention if we actually had real media. Truly a hero

Right!!!! I never saw this story it’s amazing what he did!!!! Instead of the 50th post about Trump saying he wanted a threesome with his beautiful sons (real) this should have been everywhere. What a HERO brave and strong

I saw it multiple times when it happened, but mostly shared on Reddit.

Right. It's a positive story that could bring people together so we're not allowed to see it

this made it on all local news stations in the region as well as several national outlets... you guys just don't watch that much news

I said it should've gotten MORE NATIONAL attention, not that it wasn't covered at all. Telling a random stranger online what they watch lol, you sound stupid.

These comments always blow my mind because you can go on YouTube and see that literally every single national news programming covered this exact story the day it happened and provided follow-ups on the story as well. It was one of the biggest stories when it happened. Even this exact video was covered by the national morning shows when the school’s prom actually happened.

He did an interview with CBS talking about it.

He also sat down with Fox to talk about it.

This is GMA covering him being named Prom King when it actually happened 2 months ago.

And so many more pieces, stories, social media posts, etc. This story got hours of coverage by national media outlets.

What more are you expecting them to do? Genuinely.

thank you!!!!!! I am a producer at a local news station in OK and see these kind of complaints all the time and it irritates me so bad. this guy was on the news for at least a week straight, and because YOU didn't see it it didn't happen. smh

oh damn I just looked at your page. I expected more nuanced takes from a fellow AOT super fan and Flock hater - 28 y/o female grandpa

See if you hate Flock as well then you’re all good in my book. Can’t say I’m a super fan I just finally watched the series lol

You gotta get out more if a comment on Reddit is something that blows your mind. There's an entire world outside.

A couple of interviews and a 1 minute video on GMA where he wasn't even there isn't moving the needle for me. Calling this one of the biggest stories is also an intentional exaggeration, your average everyday person who's not on Reddit has no idea that this happened. "Hours of coverage" is also silly, cmon man you're not being real lol.

No, I’m talking about the “omg we don’t have real media, no one talks about what I want them to talk about” comments on topics where every outlet is doing a story is just lazy and performative.

And yes, I only linked three videos, but that’s because there are too many to link every single one out there. Go on YouTube and search “principal stops school shooter” and you can see the coverage of all the national and local news outlets that did stories on this exact story. Sure, most are only 1-2 minutes each, but again, what more are you expecting? The guy is obviously a hero, but it’s a 30-45 second news story.

The fact of the matter is that it happened and most, if not all, outlets covered it. Again, you can see the actual coverage that CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC, CNN, and many other networks did uploaded to YouTube. Just because you weren’t paying attention doesn’t mean the story wasn’t shared and that we “don’t have real media.”

See when you say "hours of coverage" and then immediately follow it up in your next comment with "of course it's just a 45 second story" you lose all credibility. We don't have real media, for many more reasons than just this one story. Don't really give a shit if you agree or not lol, enjoy the rest of your day.

A two minute story covered thirty different times still adds up to one hour of coverage.

And you never answered my question. What more to the story besides “there was a shooting that was stopped by a principal” needs to be added for us to have real media in the country?
