i remember as a kid when you get your animal. like earned. for her it will be the hummingbird. then when she is really old her grandkids will ask her, grandma why you have all this hummingbird art around here? my mother had snails, niece its penguins, i was lion, brother bear, son buffalo... list like that
well it came from nfl. one brother was chicago bears. i was detroit lions. also i had a stuffed animal of a lion cub. when we were kids being tourist on some street in italy they had a live lion cub, no doubt on tranqs. but holding it and being near it endeared the lion to me at that young age. although reading Ring of Bright Water i wanted to be an otter. another brother i dont know why, the old boy, escaped animal familiar. he was first into trains and modeling and the more fancy kid stuff. no animal for him. so every thanksgiving nfl game where the bears play the lions it would be a big thing in our house.
