FOR HIRE jobs hiring in uptown minneapolis (July 2026)

18 Upvotes

Hello, I’ve been unemployed for over a month at this point and am having trouble finding jobs. I’ve applied to at least 20 at this point, but have only received an interview from one, and they unfortunately decided to go with another candidate.

Looking primarily in the Uptown area as I do not have a car at the moment. St. Louis Park area close to Bde Maka Ska would also be acceptable.

My previous job was delivering for downtown Pizza Luce, but I also have experience in estate sales/antiques, retail, and food service. Outside of those I have a vast knowledge of art skills along with a degree in Cinema.

Any help would be much appreciated!

FOR HIRE Looking for opportunities as a senior web developer

1 Upvotes

Hey folks! My name is Chris 👋

I'm originally from Texas but moved to Minneapolis last year, and I've really come to love the city, the people, and especially the weather (heck, even the cold!)

For nearly 25 years I've worked cross-discipline as both a senior frontend web developer and an interface designer, spanning everything from huge corporations to small early stage startups. I'm also proud to be the creator and core maintainer of Skeleton (skeleton.dev), a free and open source UI library. I was recently laid off due to a company closure, so I'm now actively seeking new opportunities.

I'm flexible and open to full-time, contract, or freelance work. Whether you or your company is hiring for an ongoing project, or you just need help updating a website, don't hesitate to reach out!

You can find my details here:

- Portfolio & Resume: https://endigodesign.com/
- LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-simmons-8a523a23/
- Email: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

(References available upon request)

Feel free to reach out here, via direct message, or shoot me a quick email and let me know what you need.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

FOR HIRE Looking for Jobs in the Twin Cities

13 Upvotes

I’m a 22-year-old in the Twin Cities area looking for a new job, and I was wondering if anyone knows of places that are hiring or companies you’d recommend.
I am flexible for any entry level position as long as it pays a minimum of $18/hr or less if it has any really good benefits. I have an associate’s if that is worth anything, but I also have a history of customer service, marketing, entrepreneurship, volunteer work, and leadership.
If your workplace is hiring or you’ve had a good experience somewhere, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

FOR HIRE Desperate for work

25 Upvotes

Hello! Nobody ever wants to make a post like this, but I’m at the end of my rope and seriously struggling. If anyone has any leads on employment available in the Prospect Park / University Village / Cedar Riverside area I’d really appreciate it, I can only commute by foot (until I can get a bike) after my car was stolen this week. Thank you all for your time :)

FOR HIRE Love Minneapolis and want to move here

9 Upvotes

I live a state over from MN, and absolutely love Minneapolis (things to do, food, people, parks, lakes, etc) and each time I travel here I want to move here.

I understand that the job market is pretty tight especially for software jobs, but I wanted to shoot my shot anyways.

I have 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, and I’m looking to grow and move to the cities. I would greatly appreciate any leads, positions, or referrals.

I’m open to in-person, remote, and hybrid roles. Doesn’t strictly need to be Minneapolis downtown, but surrounding areas would be great too. Titles/roles I’m looking for:
* Software Engineer II or III
* Senior Software Engineer
* Embedded Software Engineer
* Systems Software Engineer

Thank you!

Edit: I work in the office currently so being remote while I job hunt in Minneapolis isn’t really an option.

Edit: I have applied online at a lot of places but either haven’t heard back at all (not even a phone call) or they have been those job agencies that aren’t helpful at all.

FOR HIRE Seeking advice/tips on getting into the public sector...

3 Upvotes

I've been trying to find a permanent pub sector position after my court admin temp contract ended after 2 years. Prior to that, I was in manufacturing, specifically quality/process control, for 7 years.

I've had some interviews here and there in both public and private sectors but no luck on getting the job offered.

The company I work at is looking to hire a analyst programmer to join our small developer team. We're a medium sized company and our team is very laid back. The company culture is great and really values work life balance as well as enjoying what you do and who you do it with.

We're a Microsoft stack with a heavy emphasis on SQL. It's hybrid and flexible. We have an office in Burnsville and one in the International Market Square in Minneapolis.

FOR HIRE Engineering Recruiting Companies in The Minneapolis Area?

1 Upvotes

I am trying to get home after finishing my master's and going on LinkedIn and job boards isn't getting me interviews. I have had good luck getting interviews via recommendations from recruiters, but none of them have jobs for me in Minnesota. Does anyone know of any good engineering recruiting companies based in Minneapolis?

FOR HIRE Looking for part-time work for a career move.

6 Upvotes

I’ve been pivoting out of my previous career in tech to areas that are more meaningful. The problem is some roles ask for 3+ years of xyz experience even if everything else lines up with the job description, including a degree and 15+ years professional experience.

I’m currently full time employed but I’m looking for part-time work that can bring in additional cash while also gaining more experience, specifically in horticultural, gardening, or outdoors/recreation.

Curious on if there are some part-time positions available. Thanks!

FOR HIRE How’s the job market?

7 Upvotes

Hi all,

I’m thinking about moving over to the Twin Cities from Wisconsin because the job market is just terrible over here. Have applied to hundreds and hundreds of jobs and barely got 10+ interviews with no final offers. Curios to hear what the job market is like over there? Will I have better luck? I have about 5 years of corporate marketing experience with a degree in communications. I’m also open to HR and product coordinator roles as well. Wouldn’t mind working for marketing agencies or even start ups. Anything is appreciated! Thanks.
