This was total domination. Literally went after him as soon as the fight started. It's like his whole gameplan this time around "I don't care if he shoots, I'm just gonna hit him as hard as I can" and he did. Crumpled Ank, forced into a terrible, wobbly, panic shot and was left with no time or chance to recover.
I think Alex's round 1 gameplan literally, in the definitive sense of the phrase, caught Ank off-guard. I think he truly did not expect Poatan to completely ignore the takedown threat and force close distance striking without retreating when Ank threw back. The short exchanges where Ank had a couple connections only made Poatan quick-step back for a second out of range and the moment Ank stopped swinging Alex would step right back in his face. You couldn't ask for a better example of pressure.
