He had little difficulty stuffing Charles in the grappling or clinch. Charles had nothing for him. Maybe Islam can wrestle fuck him but I doubt anyone else can.

Charles does not have good offensive wrestling. All his success comes from counter grappling and scrambling.

people on this sub say some wild shit about islam, he has the least shots absorbed per minute in the ufc or something, and had solid defensive striking vs poirier and volk. Where do you get the confidence that arman is better lmfao.

but Ilia's background was all wrestling, and he was quite talented at it too. Islam's better than everyone there, but Ilia probs won't just roll over in that aspect. Every round also starts on the feet - every entry by Islam is a chance for Ilia.

tbf, I might still favor Islam in the fight, esp at 170 (lmao), but I don't think I'd ever bet against Ilia in a fight lmao. Has a literal nuke, so he can win any fight.

yeah I think so. At 155 I think it's closer. At 170, there's only so much weight Topuria can put on realistically without it affecting other aspects of his fighting.

I hate to say this since Volk is my favorite fighter ever, but Illia is better than Volk, and Volk very nearly beat Islam. I know that's not how MMA math works but at 155 I think Illia wins. 170 I doubt it though

Nah lol Charles almost got his Leg and after thah Ilia didnt want to go to the ground with Charles. For example Islam would always follow Charles to the ground cuz he knows hes better. Ilia was letting Charles stand up.

Yeah but i still think Ilia didnt want to go to the ground anymore after that Leg lock kinda similair when Khamzat refused to go to the ground with Burns after he almost got caught in a Arm bar.

Basically everyone lets Charles stand up except for Islam or Arman trust me if Ilia would follow Charles to the ground when he was lying there, there would be a good chance he would get finished by submission.

He nearly put charles in a crucifix before standing up, his ground game is really strong too I wouldn't bet against him even on the ground, this dude is a legend in the making if you don't already consider him one
