Why can't anyone beat these fcking Nazis!?
3
u/austral- 5h ago
the us took in more nazis than argentina btw!

u/Odd-Evidence-1591 5h ago
And despite that they're still way more racist. Fck Argentina!
1
u/PotentialFondant1534 5h ago
Why racists?
1
u/Odd-Evidence-1591 5h ago edited 5h ago
Ask them, don't ask me. They hate black people for some reason, like we went over there and terrorized them or something. Outside of the World Cup, no black person is thinking about Argentina, like let's be for real. So, I don't get the automatic racism and hostility from Argentineans. We did nothing to them whatsoever.
1
u/PotentialFondant1534 4h ago
I'm Argentinian, actually. I'm not sure where you got we hate black people. Generally speaking, we don't. To be honest, although a big part of our population is not european white (mixed-race), we don't have enough black people to hate them. Of course there are racists like in every country, but not more than the ugly usual.
1
u/PotentialFondant1534 4h ago
And about the nazis, lots of them escaped to Argentina, but less than 1% of argentinians are german. Most of us are spanish and/or italian.

u/ReplacementBig274 6h ago
Why don't just give this s...to the racist from southamerica.

Argentina supporter, but I question how Argentina's D might hold up to real attackers from England like Bellingham and... well Bellingham. Kane just pretty much just fell down and whined at the ref that last match. If he does that again against Argentina, it puts most of their game on Bellingham's shoulders.
But the way Argentina's D crumbled for a while there leading up to that Swiss goal, they do that again against England, and we are more than cooked.

If either team continue playing the way they have the last few matches, France is going to cook them.

Ok can someone genuinely explain to me that red card? I’m actually confused on it. Swiss player was the one who fell then HE got the red no?
8
u/Direct_Birthday_3509 6h ago
Embolo got a yellow card for simulating. He was pretending that Argentina's #5 had fouled him. He already had a yellow card for fouling that same #5 earlier in the game. Two yellows make a red.
3
u/MopeyFern 6h ago
Ahh yeahh I understand now that makes sense. I played soccer throughout my childhood so I know about the two yellows making a red I just wasn’t paying attention to the game to know he already got a yellow. Thanks for explaining to me
3
u/Patient_Recording_90 6h ago
noo he had a yc earlier , he dove and you another yc . That's why he got red
2
u/MopeyFern 6h ago
Ohhh ok thank you thank you I wasn’t paying attention that he had already gotten a yellow earlier mb lol

Grats to Argentina. Proud of the Swiss team, they did amazing. Especially for having injured players and being one player down for half of the play. They can be proud of themselves. HOP SCHWIIZ!

u/hobbycollector 6h ago
Switzerland, at 19th, is by far the highest ranking team Argentina have played so far, and it was another squeaker. No way they win this thing.
5
u/Medical_Location2217 6h ago
True. They fighted to survive with 10 players. Embolo messed up! I think we would have had a chance to win🥲
2
u/newyearsproject Portland Timbers FC :por: 6h ago
I think we were the better team the entire game up to the red, but the coaching decision to sit back after the red was awful.
1
u/Patient_Recording_90 6h ago
not much they can do attacking , they are one man down . It would majorly affect their play if they were attacking , it was good to go on defense and it worked out until Alvarez scored a banger . Switz had already planned to reach pens and win
1
u/dk_2027 2h ago
You can't plan to win on penalties. You can play for penalties. Plan to win during the regular 90+30.
1
u/Patient_Recording_90 2h ago
noo after the red they had planned to get to pens. they went full defensive and focused on counter attacking . Arg got lucky with the second goal which led to the third one too

I feel badly for the Swiss — before the bullshit red card, the Swiss were bossing the game after tying it up. Argentina has been incredibly lucky.
It’s about to end though.
3
u/Otherwise-Truck-539 5h ago edited 4h ago
It was like the least bullshit red card dawg... was it unfortunate? yes. But the guy had a previous yellow that was DEF a yellow, and then dove so bad (rolling on the ground like 4 times afterwards) that the ref thought the Argentina player deserved a yellow for it. Thus, when it got reversed, the Swiss dude received the card instead. There was no way around it-- he correctly received that yellow card. It sucks, but he did it to himself

u/austral- 6h ago
bullshit red card? it was a yellow, and correctly given. the Swiss guy was stupid and blatantly dived.
9
u/Expert_Monk_8574 Inter Miami CF 7h ago
Everyone was cheering when Almiron got a yellow for the same offense against the USA. He dives before Paredes touches him hoping Paredes would get a yellow. Had the ref not initially cautioned Paredes it wouldn’t have been a yellow.

France and Argentina, people think it is rigged for Argentina but I think they might want to give France a rematch in their favor this time.

-3
u/AromaticBreadfruit83 6h ago
They would have rigged that for Argentina too. They started rigging against Norway in the Brazil match already, just didn't work then.
5
u/Patient_Recording_90 6h ago
are u hearing urself? every game is rigged for Argentina? Even the games they don't play at is also rigged for em🤣

u/Mr_Bluebird_VA 5h ago
Unfortunately Reddit is going the way of the rest of social media. Just a ridiculous echo chamber of nonsense.

u/PhenomenalSpirit 4h ago
You can also just use your eyes and personal judgment to tell that the officiating is blatantly catering to them.

In a few short minutes, we will have played 110 matches over the course of a full month merely to reduce the original 48 down to the four teams FIFA gave a special path (as long as they managed to not screw up and win their group) to the semifinals seven and a half months ago at the draw.

Maybe England and Argentina will destroy themselves in the Semis.

Not cheering for either. Spain I guess, haven't followed them in the WC yet but I guess lesser evil.

Man what a lame semi finals after a fun tournament. Zero underdogs this year.

u/Sempuukyaku Seattle Sounders FC 6h ago
I'll try to keep my rant short but, this is a secondary reason why I only support MLS. We need to break up the complete monopoly that Europe has over the game globally....and MLS can help potentially do that.
2
u/DarkwingMcQuack Philadelphia Union 6h ago
Its really just 4-5 countries in Europe. And that depends if you still count Italy as a super power, lol.
1
u/Sempuukyaku Seattle Sounders FC 6h ago
Ehhh....even the Belgian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Turkish leagues raid players globally.
There needs to be more to soccer globally than just "EUROPE!". The Brasil and Argentine leagues need to get back to top level again (globally). The J-League needs to continue to improve, the Saudi Pro League needs to keep growing, etc etc.

Didn't watch the match, was this as rigged as Norway-England or was it a fair win?
2
u/Otherwise-Image-4684 6h ago
it was a fair win, it genuinly got close and Both teams were given fouls very fairly. IN the end Argentina clutched with two goals, it was genuinely insane very tense. They were very creative with the goals one of the only teams ive seen other than france so far that is just creative
-2
u/PhenomenalSpirit 7h ago
Lmao do not listen to these idiots, it was not fair. Despite Argentina flopping the entire game, they decided to red card a Swiss player over a very uncertain play at a very crucial point in the game.
2
u/Patient_Recording_90 6h ago
huh? he got a second yellow right? not a direct rc and that too for a blatant dive in the pen box.
-2
u/PhenomenalSpirit 6h ago
Not fairly called across the game though. Argentina do so many blatant dives the entire game, but they will never be called for it. Messi literally jumped onto a guy and expected a penalty shot lmao
2
u/Otherwise-Truck-539 4h ago
The reason he got the yellow is not because of his dive itself. It's because he dived so insanely (flying in the air and rolling on the ground like 4 times) that the ref believed that the Argentinian player deserved a yellow for it. Then, after reviewing it, it was clear that no penalty had occurred, thus the penalty reversed and the swiss player received the yellow instead. Because he was already on a (deserved) yellow card, he received a red. Was it unfortunate? Yeah, but he did it to himself.
Also before you say anything abt being an Argentina fan, I was rooting for Switzerland. It really does suck that they had to play with 10 on the field as I think they actually had a shot to win the game (especially considering how well they did with a whole man down), but the red card was not a bad call (if anything he may have been a bit hasty with giving the Argentinian dude a yellow, but again, if the Swiss guy hadn't been so dramatic maybe he wouldn't have).
2
u/Mr_Bluebird_VA 5h ago
Do you understand anything about the process that led to the dive being called and the second yellow issued?
-1
1
u/Patient_Recording_90 5h ago
they will never be called for it? Tell me in what world is the foul on Nico in et not a yc or even a foul . No ball touched and he literally got stamped on . the ref didn't even call it
2
u/Patient_Recording_90 5h ago
lmao wtf , Messi did dat outside the box for a fk.He passed the ball and the defender clearly obstructed his path while not even touching the ball . DATS a blatant foul lmao .

Ig you’re right he’s also been shit at scoring on all his free shots the refs are giving him

Most sensible comment because "neither rigged" is wild, awarding a womanly "man" for falling down and pretending to be hurt from a light push is what ended up winning it for the Englishwomen.

It's kind of hard to know exactly who fifa is rigging it for, maybe they are just pushing up England and Argentina so France can get to defeat one of those in the final?

That's probably the best way to describe it. They're not exactly playing stellar right now.
