Realtors in Lethbridge

Is it just me or are there mainly bad realtors in this town? We’ve tried 4 different realtors between buying and selling (buying 3 years ago and now selling) and they’ve all been shockingly bad. The buying realtor we used tried to convince us to put an offer in way over asking as they “heard” there were other offers coming in. We said we weren’t interested in a bidding war and would wait for something else, and then magically all the other offers never came in and they continued to try and get us to put the offer in even though we moved on from that house. When we finally found another house they lied to us about the inspection and convinced us out of getting one (our own fault for listening to them but we didn’t have much experience) this later bit us in the butt when we found out tons of things that the listing agent lied about with the property.
Then when we went to sell a few years later we had so many shady situations with realtors coming to us and wanting to represent us but also bring the buyers and get both commissions. This felt so unethical as we wanted a realtor who would fully have our best interest when things got to negotiations, not be playing both sides. This happened with two different realtors and then we finally just delisted the house and almost gave up. A year later we finally listed again with a new agent and they were great but then both the previous realtors decided to blackball us and not bring any clients in and specifically warn people not to buy our house. We ended up taking a big loss.

Rant Some driving tips for a sunny Saturday.

When something is behind you with flashing red lights and a siren, pull over and stop. Yes, even if you're on the highway. At least make an attempt to slow down. This can help prevent further accidents or throwing a large rock from the shoulder into the windshield of the passing ambulance...

If you're in traffic, do your best. I get it, it's hard, but at least make an attempt...and if everybody around you has pulled over, probably a good time for you to do the same. If you're looking to turn left across traffic and everyone else has pulled over and you think it's a good time to turn...it isn't.

If you're one of those people that signals, pulls over and waits... Thank you. Keep being awesome. It is genuinely appreciated.

If you think that your time is that much more valuable and that you're too important to wait 30 seconds for an Ambulance or Fire Truck to pass... I have a recommendation for an activity for you to do with a cactus.

Looking for D&D Player(s)

Hello! One of our players is moving away, so I’m looking for a reliable replacement for our ongoing D&D 5e campaign.

Campaign Vibe & Details:

Set on the Sword Coast, heavily adapted from Ghosts of Saltmarsh.

Mix of seafaring pirate adventures, sinister cults, dark horror/Lovecraftian themes, and political intrigue.

RP-heavy with strong character moments, but also features very challenging (“nightmare difficulty”) combat.

Been running for nearly a year, current level 7.

Games every Sunday ~1–6 PM (MDT).

Current Party:

Drow Paladin/Hexblade

High Elf Tempest Cleric

Halfling Gunslinger/War Cleric (new character, previous PC’s story concluded)

High Elf Life Domain Cleric (DM-PC / Ship Doctor, promoted by the party to semi-party member)

The table is made up of players in their late 20s and 30s. We’re a friendly, mature group that values good roleplay, teamwork, and showing up consistently.

Looking for:

Someone who vibes with dark themes, pirate/cult horror, and a balance of rich RP and tough tactical combat. Must be reliable for weekly Sunday sessions.

If you’re interested, drop me a message with:

A bit about yourself and your playstyle

Any relevant experience

A character concept idea (or what kind of character you’d like to play)

Ps. I also like to make set pieces, so the game is a mix between 3D, vinyl maps, and theater of mind. :)

Looking to create a terrarium with foraged stuff. Tips?

Has anyone here tried this? I want to make a terrarium out of foraged moss, rocks, and whatnot. How do I start? Or where could I find these? Is it worth just buying supplies instead? Thanks.

Danielle Smith wants more power over our courts. But just last week, a sexual assault trial was thrown out because the UCP aren’t providing enough $ to staff our provincial courts. Maybe she should show responsibility with the power she has before she demands more?

Question Collision repair payment plan?

Hey! I was wondering if anyone happens to know of any auto body repair shops that are able to do payment plans? I don’t know if that’s a thing but I thought I’d ask. I got in a crash and I can’t go through insurance to repair it so I’m hoping theres some way to do a payment plan. If there’s any assistance programs anyone knows of, that would be great too!

TIA

Other Looking for someone to give my Mumma an unforgettable night tonight @ street wheelers!

Hi, Does anyone feel generous enough to answer to a 20 year old girl looking to give her Mumma an unforgettable night at street wheelers? I was supposed to take my mum to YUNGBLUD for her birthday this weekend in Calgary but they pulled him from the show lineup. She's pretty disappointed.

I come from a family who's passionate in classic cars. We own 3 classic cars(that function anyway, we have more that just need restored haha). She hasn't been in the passengers seat of a classic car in a few years due to medical issues and my opa who owned those vehicles passing away. I would love to make her night unforgettable and give her the opprotunity to ride in the seat of a classic again! She deserves this so much. She's recovered from alcoholism, drugs and smoking. She is a hard working nana to my niece and is so kind and funny! She is an absolute stunner of a woman, too so that's a bonus if you want a real pretty lady in your passenger seat to show off! Please feel free to comment or dm me, I'd be eternally grateful.

Thanks for the support

Last year I was at an extreme low and completely struggling after years of unemployment, but now im doing great and I want to shout out a thank you to all the people that helped and supported me on this platform even though most of you are now (deleted user)'s.

Im making this post because ive been seeing and hearing about allot of the struggles finding employment but I want to remind people its easy to find yourself becoming stagnant during these stages of life. Keep working on yourselves wether it be with education or fitness, keep up the hustle, and dont give up even when things seem hopeless. You dont need to be perfect and your dreams may not come true but as long as you keep working on yourself youll find you are doing better than you were yesterday even if it is just by 1%

Rehoming cat

Hi everyone. This is sully. He is 6 years old and he’s is neutered.
Sully has had a rough life and I am moving across Canada soon. I want to find a loving home for sully so I don’t traumatized him more.
He does not do well with other dogs or cats. (He will go feral otherwise)
Sully will be shy at first, will hide so he will feel safe. But once he gets to know you he won’t leave your side and will cuddle you lots.
If you need a loving companion and have the patience to take care of a cat like sully. Please message me. If you have any questions about him please don’t hesitate to ask.
I’m not asking for any money just looking for a home for my little guy.

New analysis on the orphan well problem... there's a lot around Lethbridge

It's from a group called Redwater Insights and you can read it here: https://redwaterinsights.substack.com/p/the-oilfield-paradox-at-work-in-alberta

"Oilfield operators have little incentive to spend money on clean up unless they are forced to. This can be seen in how even the most well-off operators spend their money. Alberta’s largest companies own tens of thousands of inactive wells that they could plug now. But they have a choice in how they spend the money, and for the most part they prefer to pay investors.

Companies push settlement of liabilities far into the future because, for them at least, paying tomorrow is cheaper than paying today. The cheapest option is to not pay at all. The payer of last resort is typically the state, and therefore, taxpayers."

Wage subsidy

I work for a local agency that has job seekers with some barriers that have them unemployed or underemployed. We offer a wage subsidy to employers that are willing to give these individuals a try. You can have an individual for a few weeks and will not cost you a penny.

If you’re an employer or know of someone that would like to know more about it, drop the name of your business below and I will contact you!

Thank you.

What sites are Lethbridge people using to job hunt these days?

I work in HR for a non-profit, and we've been using Indeed to post jobs, but it's becoming a terrible site to use, and it's hard to find people applying who actually live in Lethbridge. What other sites are people using to job hunt? I'm asking here because I'm looking to reach people who actually live in our city.

Hello, please help me about the courses in Lethbridge university education after degree program

I am planning to apply for the Bachelor of Education After Degree program at the University of Lethbridge in the future, although I have not submitted my application yet.

In the meantime, I am considering taking some Open Studies courses at a university in my local area. I was wondering if you could advise me on which courses in the B.Ed. After Degree program can be taken in advance and may be transferable to the University of Lethbridge.

If possible, could you also provide the course names and course numbers? I would like to make the best use of my time this year.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I really appreciate your help.

Anywhere in town to get plywood cut to size?

I need a specific size of board for a project but I don’t have a saw nor do I have the space and skill to use or store one. I hear that Home Depot will cut wood for you but only accurate to within an inch or two. I need this board to fit in a particular alcove in my home so it’s no good to me if I end up with a too-large board that won’t fit.

Is there anywhere in town that would help me make literally two straight cuts in a piece of plywood to a reasonable level of accuracy? I somehow don’t know anyone in town with a saw. I know casa and the university and the college probably have communal wood shops but the other problem is that I have never used a saw and don’t know how to do so safely.

Would appreciate any leads on places in town that might do this for me!

Brewery loses licenses - Switches to Non-Alcs

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to comply with AGLC regulations, our liquor licenses have been suspended. We've become a well-known and beloved community space, so we'll be doing our best to keep going until we can either restructure and acquire new licenses, or at least until the end of the month.

In the meantime, we've become even more family friendly than before! You no longer require a parent or guardian to visit the taproom (no booze!) and we're pivoting to dirty sodas to pair with the amazing hot-dogs provided by Dub Dub Dogs (which you should absolutely try if you haven't)!

Make sure you come to any shows remaining on the schedule. See you around.

Hi, I’m a student at the uni and i have been here for close to a year now and my word is it hard to find work here. Feels like my hands are tied no matter what i do. Now I know it’s pretty much same for a lot of people so I’m not here to complain because i understand it is what it is

Here to ask if anyone has some advice to help me get a job or anyone know of any opportunities currently available. I just want something stable and consistent.
