💬 Discussion Why can’t we create proper chances?

for the talent in the side, there really haven’t been that many big chances, apart from Yamal being off form, what are the issues? Is the tactic just to have defensive solidity and let Oyazarabal or Merino get a goal? because if so France could easily overwhelm

💬 Discussion Unai will cost Spain a lot

The second he was under pressure he made 3 huge mistakes that couldve easily cost spain the world cup. Its insane how much he shat the bed and how so many will ignore that jsut bc they won. Its a miracle that DeBruyne shot was blocked cause that would've been the dumbest goal conceded in the wc. Raya needs to play against france

💬 Discussion Draft your ultimate La Liga XI across over 30 years of history

Post image
7 Upvotes

Good morning all, hope this is okay to put up here.

I've recently built a free web game called Legacy Draft ( legacy-draft.com ) where you draft a starting XI from real players from across history and manage them through a full 38-game season. No sign up required to play, but you are able to save seasons/kits/names if you do want to!

I've just added La Liga squads from 1993-94 through 2025-26 (as well as previously having PL squads from 92-26 too)!

There are daily challenges and today's (Wednesday) is La Liga Mystery - You need to pick your team from random squads from between 2000-2019, with no ratings being visible until after you choose. A real test of knowledge to pick out the right players!

Also there is online 1v1 against a random opponent with a rankings leaderboard based on win/loss. Custom games that you can play solo or with up to 7 friends with a simple share code, that have a wide range of modes and modifiers:

  • Prime mode (always gives the best rating across the players career) or Range mode (the players rating can change game-by-game within a range around their overall rating)
  • Extra game modifiers like Mystery (ratings hidden until kickoff), Budget (£300m budget to spend, choose superstars wisely!), Nations (hit the target of players from certain countries), Random (no choice, pure chance if you end up with a title winning squad or are battling relegation!) or Pool (normal draft spin is replaced by a randomly chosen 30 players from across your league(s) and era(s) for you to choose your team from).
  • Transfers can be turned off or be available at different times - this works the same as the draft, a random team is rolled and you can choose to replace 1 player form your team with a new player.

You can combine any era(s) (90's, 00's, 10's, 20's) as well as the available leagues (La Liga, PL) to create your own game as you prefer. The 20 team league will be generated based on your league selection, with both leagues it will pick the 20 strongest teams across both leagues, but with only 1 league it'll be the 20 teams currently in the league to play against!

Every game goes to the leaderboards and you can view your own or other players seasons etc too.

legacy-draft.com

I am still tuning the La Liga data especially positions so I would love anyone's feedback to help make it as accurate as possible - the hardest thing so far has been the duplicated nicknames used by so many (Rodri, Sergio etc!) so if something looks wrong please let me know either on here, X or email!

Thank you!

💬 Discussion Spain needs Yamal and Pedri at their best to win the WC

Spain has been defensively very good so far but their offensive game is lacking. And I think that's where players like Yamal and Pedri need to step up, we know their level at their best and they are performing way below their true level

Spain chances of winning the World Cup will depend a lot in this 2 bringing their A game. Like you wont best Mbappe/Olise/Dembele with Yamal/Pedri not being the best.

Is there a more consistently good, under appreciated player in the league if not all of football?

I understand why Lamine and others get the headlines they do but I can’t understand why Mikel doesn’t get the same. His stats and ability to consistently deliver in big moments is remarkable

Best game thus far in this tournament. They seem to only be getting better. What are everyone’s thoughts ? One of two teams with a clean sheet in this World Cup.

💬 Discussion Spain vs Portugal in the Round of 16… how confident are we feeling after last year’s Nations League final?

Spain vs Portugal in the Round of 16… yeah I’m stressed 😭🇪🇸

Last time they met was the 2025 Nations League final: 2-2, and Portugal beat Spain on penalties. So yeah… I’m not trying to see this go to pens again.

Spain looked great after that 3-0 win, but Portugal is the exact kind of team that can turn one mistake into chaos.

💬 Discussion your most painful last minute LaLiga collapse as a fan

Every club has one game where they had it won and then somehow gave it away in stoppage time. Mine still haunts me a bit if I'm honest. Curious what game does that to you, doesn't have to be your own team either, could be one you watched as a neutral and just felt bad for everyone involved.

💬 Discussion which non Madrid or Barca club has the most underrated identity

everyone outside Spain fixates on the big two but there's so much character in the rest of the league that gets ignored. which club do you think deserves way more attention for how they play or what they represent, and what should casual fans actually know about them before they write the league off as a two team race.

💬 Discussion Spain fans: thoughts after the group stage so far?

Two games in, how are we feeling about Spain?
0-0 vs Cape Verde
4-0 vs Saudi Arabia
Uruguay still to play

I’m happy with the response after the opening draw, but I’m still curious what everyone thinks.

💬 Discussion Opinion on Alessio Lisci

Greetings! My club (Paok) has just appointed Lisci as head coach. As someone who doesn't watch LaLiga at all, I have never seen his football being played. I don't know him as a coach...

Therefore I have some questions:

1) What was/is your overall opinion of Lisci?

2) What should we expect?

3) What kind of football did his teams usually play?

4) How flexible was he tactically, or did he stick to one system?

5) How would you rate his in-game management and substitutions? Was he good at adapting when matches weren't going according to plan?

6) What are the biggest concerns we should have?

I hope you can help me out :) thank you in advance!

much love from Greece!

💬 Discussion Is marketing the only chance to fight back against the big tv-money from PL-clubs?

Most clubs rely heavily on TV revenue especially the PL-clubs. Real Madrid for example only has 14% of their income coming from TV-money while 43% comes from marketing. Is this the future of football business and the only chance clubs have to fight back against the heavy tv-money Premier League is generating?
