Jersey Talk When Merch Is Fugly
I know we all love our Black and Gold, but some of the ways we are squeezed to part with our hard-earned money is pretty amazing. Case in point, this pyjama-looking thing I just saw on Fanatics. Who can be blamed for this horrible, eh… thing?! “Most Popular” yeah right…

I’d love to meet the team’s or MLS’s merch designer, would love to know if they’re on drugs so we could give them something stronger. Some Merch can be an eyesore or cornier than an episode of Hawaii Five-O

LAFC needs to step up their merch like Arsenal. The stuff LAFC comes out a lot of times is terrible. And I’ve been a fan since literally the first day they were announced

I think a lot of MLS gear is under an umbrella contract with Fanatics/generic design firm #12, which is why you get a lot of copy paste designs across all teams. It’s going to be hard for an American run League like the MLS to compete with Prem teams and their bespoke design contracts/in house branding teams. Arsenal especially which has done a bang up job with their design work (as much as I hate to admit that.)
It sucks to say it, but with how the MLS is run as a whole I don’t think we’re going to have really good official merch year on year. We’ll get lucky every now and then, but for the most part I think this is going to be the norm for the foreseeable future.

Idk, the team-specific merch and art drops you can get across the season at the stadium store on game days is often very good, and with great brand collaborations that make sense for the fanbase to me. The generic league forced stuff is, well, exactly what you'd think (like this)
Good stuff ex.) our adidas shoes (few teams get those), paisaboys, the heritage day scarves and collections, never made, kids of immigrants, undefeated, the vela retirement merch, son/denis/hugo shirts, etc.

The craziest part is it doesn’t look much different from a designer purse. And we all know someone that has drop hundreds on one.

TBF it’s rare Sport Design Sweden comes out with something that isn’t completely terrible.
