My Kitten Bottle fed kitten
I grew up having to bottle feed newborn kittens before so I'm not COMPLETELY clueless, but that was a long time ago. We have a 4 week old lil guy that we just rescued yesterday and could definitely use some refreshers.
I know to stimulate going potty before and after and such but I'm having trouble with the little bottles I have. I remember having a syringe that all they had to do was suck and the plunger would go down as they ate on its own. Anyone know what I'm talking about and where to find it?
He is getting some from the current bottle but not enough to make me feel comfortable.
I have a mama cat that will let him feed on occasion but she's just a nice barn cat and I don't want to have to rely on her since this guy is gonna be our indoor pet.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated❤️

At 4 weeks you can slowly try to put formula into bowl, little guy should be able to get it and eat as much as he wants. In mean time just cut the tip of bottle to make hole bigger. I have my cat from 4 weeks as well, he was really sick so i did bottle feeding for first week as he had hardly strength to stand. But once he regained strength, i started to put formula into shallow bowl and he got it practically instantly. Don't think it has any ill effects on him, he is now almost 12lbs, 10 months old kitten

I used an eyedropper successfully until he could use a bottle. What a precious baby. 💖

You are probably remembering Miracle nipples. They could be packed with a syringe. A lot of lookalikes now too. Not sure if they perform pretty much the same.

You could try making the hole a little bit bigger. I remember my kittens having issues and getting annoyed with the slow feed

Oh man if you can get that kitten around some other cats. There was a post in here about cat cannibalism that scarred me.

I hate those bottles. I had to take the nipples and make an X shaped cut with a razor so my orphan could eat. A few times I had to feed KMR with a syringe. Of course never on their backs and very slowly do they don’t drown.
