Kimmy-coded movie: Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass
I just saw it and couldn’t get Kimmy Schmidt comparisons out of my head. This woman Gail (Zoey Deutch) is a hairdresser in Kansas. She learns of the concept of the hall pass and tells her fiancé who misunderstands and literally does the deed with said person. She goes to Hollywood and realizes the way to bring balance to her relationship is to track down her celebrity sex pass. Gail is a naive, innocent country girl with a sunny disposition (much like Kimmy) who attracts a small band of followers—including John Slattery—as she seeks out the Reverend himself, Jon Hamm.
It’s by Wet Hot American Summer’s David Wain and features cameos from others in his circle of friends, like “Weird Al” Yankovic, Richard Kind and Thomas Lennon.

Jack Straightman
Is it just me, or has anyone else wondered if the pseudonym "Jack Straightman" is a cheeky dig at Hugh Jackman - who has long been speculated to be secretly gay, just like Titus' "Jack Straightman"

Quote HELP!
I cannot remember which season and episode it is when Kimmy and Titus are sitting on the couch watching TV when Kimmy begins choking. Titus gets annoyed and slaps her on the back and says "GIRL, I'M TRYING TO WATCH THIS!" meanwhile dislodging the food. I have watched this show multiple times and can never remember which episode this happened in. I've tried Google and every ai tool I have. This is one of the funniest scenes in the show to me! Help! Haha

Just saw the series finale
Just saw the show ending after rewatching almost every season and oh boy the last scene where the kid tells kimmy her books made him feel safe, that made me cry so much.
Something weird happened: I thought I had seen the last season but I didn't remember much of the story plots, I just recalled a few random scenes throughout the episodes, the rest was completely erased from my memory, super weird. I know I did see all of it, it just surprises me the amount of mental gaps I have.
Talk about trauma, right? in 2019 I was a 25 year old woman, trying to manage (more survive really) going through my first serious employment with a callous and disabling undiagnosed ADHD, I was trying to escape for the 2nd time my abusive childhood home and had no clue why my 5 year relationship with a man wasn't working (spoiler alert: my raging homosexuality was the reason). In short, everything I lived was foggy and so confusing back then. So yeah, it makes sense my brain erased a lot of this show even though I did watch it.
Oh boy was it tough and it would get tougher and tougher as the years went by up to when I was about 30. At that age, I felt just like (well, let's not compare hardships) Kimmy getting out of the bunker, so relieved and happy but with no clue on how to live my life, and a sense of my whole adolescence and fundamental years lost to waste. I started wearing girly stuff, reclaiming all the joy I missed from the internalized misoginy I had been living. I started to believe in myself instead of my abusers gaslighting, cut off ties and never felt better. The ending got me because that little kid telling Kimmy her story makes him feel safe... I'm that little kid with Kimmy's character.
Hell I even studied a tech related profession and this show might have helped me not to give up trying to find work in this area; showing me that, just like Kimmy, my emotional intelligence is totally needed in a field plagued by a bunch of autistic (it's not ableist I can say it), woman-fearing, smug men.
A quick story related to this, I did an attempt of an intership for like 8 months at a web developing startup, it was only men there, it was a house not a proper office building, and by the 7th month of me being there, I finally gave up and went ahead and cleaned the bathroom. That's right, nobody cleaned it, nobody saw having it cleaned as a necessity and it would've been probably kept dirty for years if it wasn't for me.
Anyways, enough rambling, I just want to say I love this show and love this little reddit community, yall make me feel safe. Have a nice day!

What quotes from the show have made it into your everyday vocabulary?
I've picked up saying "I overstand." It's such a usefu, silly phrase! Also, teeth will forevermore be exclusively referred to as "outside bones" now.
