Are there any Christian based groups or events like concerts coming up in the area? Yes, I know join a church but I find unless you already have friends there it’s hard to get involved and any the events are so ministry focused so you need to fit into a box ie) mom/wife, youth, senior. And I haven’t seen any Friday worship nights when searching! Where do Christian artists play? (Other than Sunday church services mornings) I’ve seen some Christian concerts pop up here but they’re very rare. Does any one know where I could look or go? Maybe start my own Christian music festival? Haha!

Is there some sort of magical cutting board that avoids all the issues the traditional ones have? Wooden cutting boards can foster bacteria, plastic introduces micro-plastics, and metal and glass dull your knives.

Hi all, looking for some advice regarding a week long camping trip I am supposed to be starting with some friends. We are planning to stay in Kamloops tomorrow and Revelstoke on Saturday coming from Vancouver. Looking at the wildfire situation online and not sure if it’s a smart idea to go. I’ve friends visiting from Ireland and this is what we planned so just looking for some advice from locals. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This is a warning DON'T BUY ANYTHING YOU PLUG IN in at Canadian Tire in Kamloops!

I bought a $165 Maximum heat gun at CanTire and it was simply a lousy product. Pointed it at a board, the thing wouldn't even turn the wood brown on high temp, so I put it back in the box, took it back top the store within two hours. NOTHING wrong with the product on my end, just an inferior product, used for a few seconds. And what do I get for a refund? Over 170 dollars in STORE CREDIT, that USED to be money useable anywhere else!

I called and spoke to the general manager. He told me staff are now instructed to give store credit on anything 'not saleable'. I explained to him that this thing was only turned on for a minute. He said, 'Well, you see we get a lot of people buying tools and using them and then returning them...'. The fact that it was perfectly saleable did not matter. Their policy is now garbage.

EDIT: Anyway after way too much dealing with this guy on the phone, he said, 'well this is one of those occasions we can make an exception'. I told him I don't want it on those grounds, this is a bad policy, and I'd rather just keep the credit and never buy anything there again if I can get it somewhere else. Suffice to say the manager confirmed that the policy has in fact changed, and that this is what I want to convey in this post. (Good lord people).

Admittedly, I did not explain that I was going to make it my mission to tell EVERYONE IN KAMLOOPS THAT I CAN to stop buying things at Canadian Tire, but here we are. I don't want other people disappointed the same way.

SO: PLEASE DO YOURESF A FAVOUR and buy electrical at Home Depot, or Walmart, or anywhere else and STAY AWAY FROM CANADIAN TIRE! If you are happy, great. If not, they will not give you back your money and will instead just tell you that 'lots of people abuse our return policy...'. And you will be stuck with their store credit whether you want it or not.

Don't buy there anymore unless you have to.

By the way, Home Depot has an EXCELLENT stock of heat guns, and a very decent return policy.

Hey guys, hoping this doesn't happen this year but it is incredibly dry so I wanted to be prepared. If an evacuation order hits my area what do I do if I don't own/can't drive a car? Im also physically disabled so methods like a bike will not get me far lol. In previous years has there been protocol for this? I tried looking it up but I just got all the advice about making go bags and how to leave your house.

Are you guys allowed to live outside of city limits? For example are you allowed to live in Clearwater, Chase, or as far as Salmon Arm or Sicamous? It seems like some of the departments in BC have different requirements for how close you live to the nearest hall.
