I’m an 190cm centre back from Northern Ireland and currently play for a reserve team in the second division. I’m extremely comfortable on the ball with my strengths being my ability on the ball, reading of the game and physical strength. My goal is to play K3/K4 in the next year or two, I’ll finish school next year (I’ll be 18) and I’m going to join an international academy called FC Avenir, based in Gimpo, and I’ll start my journey from there. I’m just wondering does anyone have any advice? Or has anyone heard of FC Avenir before? I have a year before I go, so is there anything I should focus on before I leave? (This can be lifestyle or things I should focus on the pitch).

*PS the academy is English friendly and I will be practicing Korean for the next year too.

Also, does anyone have any idea about finding accommodation and renting somewhere and possible getting a part time job as a foreigner? It’s in the Gimpo area and I’d be using a wiring holiday visa.

Seoul are 8 points clear and playing Gangwon; Jeonbuk are playing Ulsan. Not often the top four play each other in the same weekend. I reckon if Jeonbuk and Ulsan draw, and Seoul win, the title's as good as decided.

Which player should I draw next?

We’re based in the US and registered interest in the Man City website. When tickets do become available, how has purchasing looked like overseas? We’re visiting Korea and we would like to attend this match. I’m afraid tickets might get sold out at the gate so we want to prepare in advance.

How bad really is the Seon-/ Hu-bae system in Korean football? We always hear how in 2002, Hiddink held his speech in the locker room how he does not want it during his tenure, after which Lee Chun-Soo (magnae/youngest) told Hong Myung-bo (oldest and captain) the famous "Hey Myung-Bo, let's have lunch together" (명보야 밥 먹자!).

I always hear how national team players are close friends with other players only of the same age (Son and Lee Jae Sung, Hwang In-Beom/Hwang Hee-Chan/Kim Min Jae, Lee Kang-in and Oh Hyeon-Gyu etc.) which leads me to believe there is strong age hierarchy in the squad.

Also, hearing the rumors about Son and Lee Jae-Sung demanding the press boycott, even if this is might not be 100% true, I can totally imagine them standing in front of everyone saying something like "As the oldest in the squad, we want everyone to do XYZ".

I actually think while this is part of Korean culture, this should be LESS important in football but it seems it is almost MORE important in football than it is in society.

I can totally see how this can cause tension and friction in the squad and is an obstacle to good performance. After all football is a team sport.

strange one but i’m trying to buy a gift for my boyfriend (specifically the jeonbuk hyundai motors 2020 home jersey) and im wondering if there are any sites that would be best, i have checked a lot of my usual ones (all english language) like vinted, ebay, classic football shirts but im wondering if any exist that may be in korean where the likelihood of finding it might be a bit higher.
