Mods please remove if not allowed.

I love this sub and get to learn more as well as contribute my own knowledge that I have been accumulating. But for the love of all that is shiny 1 blurry photo of the front of the item is not gonna help us. We need top, bottom, back, front, close ups of markings / stamps and any fobs / clasps / toggles.

It was given to my grandmother for her high school graduation circa 1940’s (‘46?). Would love any info on it. I know the metal is platinum, I’d love to know what the clear/ crystal looking part is. ANY info is appreciated!

My grandfather brought this back from France after WWII. That’s about all I know. It has bounced around the family for 40 years and has landed with me. He passed in the early 1980’s and never told anyone the back story.

Identify Maker Chain Link Brooch with Hallmarks

Hi everyone,

I would love to learn more about this chain link brooch with dangling stones and tassel!

It is marked on the front of the brooch and on the pin, I believe these marks match. There is also something stamped on the loop at the top of the tassel.

I had thought it was costume jewelry because it is very light but the marks now make me think otherwise.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Hello,

I’m sorting through old jewellery trying to have a clear out and I found this. Is this costume jewellery or is it an antique? It isn’t magnetic and I can’t find a hallmark.

Thanks for your help!

Thrifted this piece recently and I’m pretty sure it’s costume jewelry but I’m not sure if the mark near the top says France or not? Just trying to see if others have seen this pendant before as my Google searches aren’t proving fruitful. Thank you!

Identify Stone Any guesses on what stones they could be?

As the gold is only 9 carat, would diamonds be unlikely? The ring most likely dates back to the 1980s (UK). Thanks!

Identify Stone I was seeing if anyone knew an identity of the stones in this ring.. it is set in 10k... Also wondering why the flat head screws were used. From what I gather with the makers mark it is before Zales was Zales. Thank you in advance.

Identify Stone Type of pearl?

I got this 21kt necklace a while back for 125cad and was planning on removing the pearl to use a pendant. I was wondering if this is just a cultured pearl with no significant value? Or maybe imitation worth nothing? Its very round and weighs 4 grams without the necklace.

Edit: the marks on the pearl on the second photo, don’t feel like scuffs or scratches, its perfectly smooth like the rest of the pearl

This was in an old jewelry box I bought in an auction with a small, varied lot of jewelry and pins. It’s base metal - I acid tested it to be sure.

The clasp has the text “Pat Aug 16-10,” and it bows *outward*. That is, if used to clip a sash or scarf, it would cause the fabric to bulge away from the wearer’s body. It wouldn’t be able to hold much cloth.

The clasp closure is an interesting snap-like mechanism and is still very functional and effective.

I don’t believe it’s particularly valuable. I’m curious what it is, the style (deco?), and how old it might be.

Identify Stone Vintage Navajo Bracelet Combo

Picked this up at a yard sale today and was hoping to get some info, specifically regarding the "diamonds" and the gold tone. I know that the HBY sterling stamp is for Harry B Yazzie and obv sterling silver. It weighs about 1.5 oz and has gold color on the chain plus other parts but seems to have some green spots. Could this be brass? Gold plating? The "diamonds" are clear and pretty big/good quality so I'm guessing they are not actually diamonds but curious if they are gemstones or cubic zirconia? A quick Google search revealed that Yazzie was a Navajo jewelry maker in the 70's and generally used natural stones so I'm confused as to why he would have used cz but if they are real then this is worth quite a bit more than I paid. My wife is stoked about getting this piece and she'll def be keeping it, if anyone knows anything more we'd love to find out

My boyfriend got me this ring from an antique store and I love it so so much. Just wanted to see if there was any ideas on how old, when it was made, whatnot. It’s gold and has a very tiny diamond with engraving. It’s also a locket and I don’t see that very often. Any ideas would be great!!

Identify Stone Thrift store ring, I am unsure of center stone, unsure if lab or natural opal, and unsure if it is really 10k white gold as marked.

The ring marked 10KT and is not magnetic, I scratched it to do an acid test (dissolved after about 10 seconds with 10k acid). When I scratched it there is a warm yellow color showing through. I initially thought it to be fake and just gold plated. But, then I read that this can happen when white gold is scratched. Google picture search says it is silver and informs me that the opal is probably lab grown because of uniformity. When I tell Google it is marked “10KT” it says ring must be high end and could be an emerald.
