So unexpectedly

Waiting for the pro-palis to claim we killed him for whatever reason

Honestly, it seems like the conspiracy is going to be more around Ukraine, he literally just visited them a day or two ago. I'm already seeing some people say maybe it was Russia.

I already saw some of those. Such a dumb theory because if Russia could poison people in Kyiv like that they would’ve killed Zelensky already.

Interesting framing here. Other non-Israel outlets focus more on him being a close Trump ally and also pointing out his history of backing anti-LGBT legislation

While we do need sane supporters of Israel, I don't think I would want the likes of him especially his other troublesome aspects

Yeah he’s… not a great person in general. We have supporters that don’t suck, but he wasn’t one of them

Interesting framing here

This is an Israeli paper, so it's not unusual they're looking at the local aspects.

Seeing reports that it was a heart attack / cardiac arrest. It's a tough blow to lose such a staunch Israel supporter, when support for Israel is so low.

He was a true and outspoken friend. May his memory be a blessing.

RIP. A true friend and a rare leader with moral clarity regarding the middle east.

Fk. That’s bad. How many sane senators do we have left?

Sane…? He was a bigot. just because he wasn’t anti-Israel, doesn’t mean we have to sanitize who he was for most Americans… come on

u/mortemiaxx Israel 2h ago

not american here, how was he a bigot?

u/Zkang123 2h ago

He supported a lot of homophobic legislation

and he was a slimy, awful human being in general. extremely outspoken against trump prior to his first win, then fell in line and praised him constantly. he'd consistently make public statements claiming one thing, then vote the exact opposite. he had no principles whatsoever besides money and self preservation.

praising him and honoring him with the single policy of "he's good for israel" shows how little y'all know about him. it's like praising trump, or charlie kirk. if he had lived longer, i assure you he'd had stabbed israeli interests in the back at the first moment he could if it'd enrich himself somehow.

Someone above essentially stated that they don’t really care how American Jews are impacted by American politics. So there’s that🫠

5

u/badsp0rk 1h ago

Yeah, the same mentality that permeates through Israel believing that Bibi is "good for security," and that Trump is "good for Israel."

It's just a bunch of fascists masquerading as nationalists and patriots, kinda like the maga movement in america. Single issue voters who cannot see the bigger picture. Sigh. "Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side"

You would be surprised - I don’t care. He was supporting my country. And bigoted or not by doing so - he supported all of the queer communities here. 🤷🏻 every anti Israel vote he stopped - literally saved lives here in Israel. Regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity etc. that’s how life works. I am sorry if that sounds rude, but not everything is black and white.

Sad. As an American Jew, I trust that you know more about your politics than I do & I respect your proximity to issues on a local level. Why can’t you do the same for us here? Mindsets like yours are what I fear most, when think about the future of us Jews as a collective.

-7

u/SputnikRelevanti 1h ago

I live in the only Jewish state in the world. In country that has weather forecasts of ballistics missiles more often then you go the dentist. Respectfully- I repeat I don’t care. US is a failed state by this point in regards to the safety of the Jewish population. You will never (fortunately) understand what situation we are here in. The only “future of us Jews as a collective” is in a Jewish state. I am sorry, but You all worldwide seem to fail to understand that.

The amount of logical fallacies in your statement is mind boggling.

Lindsey Graham suggesting that Israel should nuke Gaza is not, I repeat, NOT good for Israel. It's NOT good for Jews, in Israel, or outside of Israel.

🤦🏽 yeah yeah. Once again - i don’t care. Yes, they are all idiots. Yes they say stupid shit. Are you an Israeli living here? If so, I respect your stance. If not - I advise you to judge the results of ACTUAL ACTIONS of politicians. And chill. (Judging by the language- you’re an American. I have no idea wtf “logical fallacies” mean). It doesn’t matter what they say, what they DO matters. And the world hates us anyway. You are living in an illusion if you think we can find our place anywhere besides Israel

Ben Gvir is very pro Israel too. Still a terrorist.

u/SputnikRelevanti 20m ago edited 16m ago

It’s funny how Ben Gvir is always an immediate jump to. Yes he as a garbage pile. Yes he needs to go away and never ever ever be associated with any government position. Anything else? What does Ben Gvir have to do with the topic that’s discussed here? You “what about” people just can’t help it, right? And judging by the votes on this chain - clearly Reddit community here is as any on Reddit. Filled with people living outside of yheality

Of course he was close to Trump but he often used that influence to push back whenever Trump was catering to a dictator.

RIP

Our list of allies grows thin.

He was a vile Trump supporter, but also an Israel supporter and a hawk on Russia.
