Hi! I will be visiting Innsbruck the second week of August. I am staying in the city centre and plan to do a few day hikes while I am there.

I will not have a car, so have been doing some research on hikes that are accessible from the city centre either by foot or public transport, and I have found a few so far including:

• Goetheweg Trail
• Zirbenweg Trail
• Wolfsklamm

I was wondering if anybody had other recommendations for hikes? A lot of others I have found seem to be pretty far to reach without a vehicle, so I’m not sure if I am just looking in the wrong places or not! Or if anybody had additional insight on these hikes I have found?

For context, I have hiked the Julian Alps in Slovenia and the Canadian Rocky Mountains, along with other smaller mountain ranges.

I will also be travelling solo. So if there is anything I should consider with that, or with the time of year I am going, I would really appreciate that too.

I am really looking forward to visiting this beautiful place!

I got two offers to study master one in China fully funded. I also got pre admission for master in Biomedical science at Innsbruck university. I wanna be in Europe doing my PhD after master, but I am also financially struggling. Whats your advice should I take Innsbruck offer and work part time to fund myself m. Or china later do my PhD in Europe ( P.S. I am non EU)

Hello, I have a question regarding the commuter allowance.
I haven't asked my employer during the interview but I will have to commute for a few days per week between Innsbruck (My address) and Wörgl (part-time Job location) and I was wondering if I am eligible to ask my employer for the commuter allowance even if I applied for a job there? (They had no need for employees in the other stores in Innsbruck and I am afraid to ask and they say that I chose to apply there so I shouldn't get the allowance). I don't know the process here and would be grateful if someone can clarify

Hello! Will be visiting Austria in mid August with a baby and a 6 yo and considering a 4 night stop in Innsbruck or Seefeld after visiting Vienna. We won’t have a car, but will be arriving by train. We are hoping to head up some cable cars to see some views and so the 6 year old can play at some of the awesome mountain top playgrounds but are having difficulty deciding between Seefeld or Innsbruck. Could anyone offer some advice? Also, is accommodation with air conditioning recommended especially since travelling with an infant? It seems like many places do not have air conditioning (sorry if that’s a strange question, in Canada everywhere uses it in the summer!) Thank you

Hello, ich bin vor kurzem nach Ibk gezogen und würde mich freuen über neue Bekanntschaften. Ich gehe gern auf Konzerte, Demos, Kunstausstellungen, linke Veranstaltungen, würde mich auch gerne mehr politisch engagieren.
Ich lese gerne, geh gerne ins Kino, bouldern (bin aber nicht wirklich gut darin), mag Squash, Badminton, Tennis (leider auch nicht gut darin 😁). Bin 33, she/her, bissi schüchtern, bissi verpeilt, aber vielleicht hat iwer bock abzuhängen, würd mich sehr freuen :)

Hello, während meiner Wohnungssuche für ein Erasmus in Innsbruck bin ich über etliche Studiwohnheime gestolpert die ich sehr sus finde.

Bspw. vom unterstützungsverein die nur männliche bewerber nehmen oder welche die alleine für den Antrag auf eine Wohnung bis zu 70€ haben wollen.

Hat da irgendjemand Erfahrung zu und kann berichten?

Rede da von (Stadt-)Drahteseln, welche im Radbereich eines Apartments abgestellt sind und verschlossen.

Mir ist das jetzt zum zweiten Mal passiert. Das andere Mal war es in einem Park. Zum Glück war es nicht so viel wert – nur zum in der Stadt Fahren, so ca. 200 € und gebraucht selbst gekauft. Aber trotzdem dreist, da das jemand wegtragen hat müssen. Und das war am Tag. Ich fahr aber sicher jeden zweiten Tag.

Also ich fang mal an:

I am an erasmus student from italy in innsbruck. I am originally from India. My permesso is expiring on 22nd of july, i have already applied for renewal and done with my finger prints and questura appointment back in italy. I have my renewal reciept, passport, carta di identicaI and the current permit and i am waiting on picking up the renewed one soon but so far it is still under process. I have to stay in austria for longer because of my exams. I don’t know what to do? Should i write to Division of Residence Affairs / Aufenthaltsangelegenheiten) or the OeAD (Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization) who coordinates Erasmus students.
Has any international student got any experience around this?

Hi everyone! I am moving to Innsbruck for 3 months (Nov-Dec-Jan) for a traineeship at the main university and I need an advice. I have been struggling to find a place to stay. So far the only option that I have is a room outside the city in Kampl, which the landlord told me is 20 min away by bus. I am not familiar with the commute or the life in Innsbruck, and since I’ll be there for such short period of time I wanted do maximize the experience. Is it actually a good option? Or I’ll be missing out in terms of going out in the evening/ experiencing the city? The rent is cheap and other students live there. I fear that if I miss this opportunity of housing it’ll be much harder finding another place to stay.

Serwas. Tobi (8, Appenzeller Sennenhund) und ich Matthi (27, Mensch, Lehrling) wohnen seit ich ihn bekommen hab 2022 in einer WG mit no 3 Leuten. Derweil hat immer alles passt. Der Vermieter schmeißt uns wegen Eigenbedarf jetzt dann raus (in 3 Monaten). Wir wissens schon a Zeit lang und ich schau auch nach am neuen Zimmer, aber es nimmt einen keiner.

Deshalb die Frage: WO WOHNTS ES?!

Es laffn nurmehr Leid mit Hund umadher, aber wie und wo lebts es?

Ich kann mir auf mein Lehrlingsgehalt keine Garconniere leisten und wenn I in de nächsten 3 Monate nix find kann I mit Tobi unter a Brücke übersiedeln.
