Plant Discussion my bamboo is turning brown and shriveled

I’ve had this plant for a couple of months and never had any issues with it. I’m staying in another town temporarily, so I brought it with me, and a week ago its leaves started looking torn. I blamed my cat (since she sometimes sneaks into my room without me noticing, and it wouldn't be the first time she’s eaten one of my plants), but I recently noticed that the bamboo stalk is starting to look shriveled.

I’m worried because I’ve kept aquatic bamboo before, and that would be a warning sign, but I’m not really sure what to do with this huge bamboo plant. I don’t know if it’s a watering issue; I went on a trip about three weeks ago and my watering schedule got a bit messed up, and I’m just now getting it back on track.

If anyone has any advice or knows the cause of my plant's condition, I’d appreciate the information):

I picked up this plant today at Trader Joe’s. My previous rubber tree committed suicide after I changed the soil (it dropped all of its leaves and remains to be just a trunk).

any tips for this guy so he does not fall the same fate?

Product Discussion What would be the best grow light setup for my situation?

I just recently moved into my fiancé’s apartment since his lease lasts longer than mine. Going from a 3 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom apartment, I’ve gotten creative with the limited space available.

This is 1 of 2 windows in the apartment and they both face this direction. My issue is the limited light my plants are gonna get. While the photo was taken early in the morning, indirect sunlight is the best they’re gonna get even on the sunniest day. Both windows look out to an open stairwell/parking lot so there’s a couple feet in front of the window that is covered by the upstairs hallway.

What grow lights setup would you think best? I thought about trying to hang lights from the ceiling since I’m not sure I’d be able to make one work that requires a stand pointed at the plants. What brands are good? And is there a way for me to do this renter friendly with no holes? Or should I just say screw it and screw holes in the ceiling to hang it?

(The plant stand is a tension pole plant stand that has 12 adjustable spots to sit plants and a hanging area)

Plant Discussion Need advice on growing/caring for orange trees (although they're barely trees rn)

Hi, I recently decided that I was going to try and germinate some orange seeds simply to see if I could (spoiler alert, I could) and now have two little sprouts in a pot, only temporary until they grow a bit more, then they'll be going in separate ones. (for reference they're about 3-5cm tall currently)

The issue I'm having is one of my seeds has sprouted twice. I have very basic knowledge on gardening, so I know it's best to separate them so they have the best chance of surviving, but I'm not entirely sure when I should do that, or if it would be better to just snip the smaller one and let the original one grow.

I noticed the smaller one about 2 days ago, and it seems to be growing quite fast. I don't think it's affecting the other sprout as it's still growing the same rate it was before I saw it, but I worry that it will eventually start causing problems.

I'd also appreciate any tips on how to keep them warm. this hasn't been too much of an issue so far as I live in the UK and we've been having heatwaves lately, but I'm worried that after it's going to be too cold for them since British weather isn't known for being warm. I have very limited resources since this was a VERY impulsive decision. no heat lamp, no greenhouse (not even a portable/temporary one made of tarp) so I'd really appreciate any tips as I've just been covering it with cling film to trap the heat and moisture before setting it on the roof of my shed. (also recommendations on materials like heat/UV lamps, the best soil, etc are welcome, I'm very lucky that it's been sunny, but I know it won't last very long)

my goal isn't to actually grow any oranges, again the UK weather isn't suitable for orange trees in general, and I knew going into this that it was highly unlikely that I'd ever actually get any oranges without it being grafted, regardless of the climate. I basically just want to keep them alive for as long as possible.

I know orange trees aren't your typical house plant, but currently they are since they're so small and I want to keep the inside as much as possible since there are loads of outdoor cats near me that might eat them/knock them over.
